My sister is hoping to bring her baby with us on a trip to Disneyworld sometime in the next year or two (child would be between 1-1 1/2 yr old). What kind of babysitting options are there for a child that age?

We used Fairy Godmother's when my DD was younger. They were great!

We also had a great experience with Kid's Nite Out when we took our 8-month-old in September. The sitter came right to our hotel room prepared with age-appropriate toys (she even sterilized her beaded necklace before she arrive because she knew our little one would likely want to chew on it), and I believe that all their caretakers are CPR-certified and have passed criminal background checks. They even asked me, when I booked our reservation, whether we preferred a man or a woman, young or old. When we returned to the hotel room, the poor sitter was sitting virtually in the dark, with only one light on, because she did not want to awaken our baby.

It is not cheap -- I think you pay for a minimum of 4 hours, plus like $10 or something for transportation costs. However, we were so impressed that we're looking forward to using them again when we return in December.

I know 2 people who have used the fairy godmothers and kid's nite out and had awesome experiences!
