Child with short stature. Will his age be questioned @ Jedi training?

My 4.5 year old is very into Star Wars now and would love to do Jedi training. He is very, very tiny. Will his size/ age be questioned at Jedi traning? He has waited through his big brother being able to participate since he was 2 and is so excited to give it a try. But I really feel like the CMs are going to feel we are being dishonest, many many people become shocked when we say he's 4.5. Should I bring a copy of his birth certificate just in case? Anyone deal with questioning about age at Jedi traning??

If his behavior falls in the range of 4-year-olds, I don't think they'll say anything. Jedi CMs are usually pretty considerate of younglings' feelings.

But beware -- the Sith have been known to pick on the little ones.

My just turned four year old is the size of a small three year old. I've been concerned about this, too.

I doubt you'll be questioned. Wouldn't his DOB be in the MDE system anyway?

I can't imagine it being a problem. But to help you and take away anixiety throw a photocopy of his birth certificate in your park bag.

The sign-up CM will ask your son his age and when he honestly answers, the CM will accept his answer. There is no need to carry around a birth certificate for JTA sign-up.

Even the kids who are taught to lie about their age get into the show. You really shouldn't worry and he'll have a great time!

A 4 year old is much different than a 2 year old, even if they are the same size. They work with lots and lots of kids. I wouldn't worry about this.

be sure your son answers the age question. if he answers easily with the answer and is sure of his answer. he will be fine. it is the small child who's parent answers for them that will be questioned. have a grandson who is still small for his age, he has learned to speak up when he feels he is being treated as a younger child

My daughter is pretty tiny and had just turned 4. They didn't question her

My son was very small when he did it..around 4 years old. He ranges from the zero-3 percentile. He was never questioned. CM's are pretty good about it. A 4 year old, even though they are short, typically have facial features that look more like a 4 yr old, rather than a 2 year old.

Have a great time! If it makes you feel more comfortable, bring a copy of his birth certificate, but I am positive you shouldn't need it.

I don't think you'll have a problem signing him up if he answers questions and doesn't act too shy, but don't get your feelings hurt if the person who does all the talking at the show says something to the audience about him being "four." They frequently do make a joke about the largest or smallest child, mildly insinuating that he isn't really that age. It should go over your son's head.

My grandson did this when he was five and he was the shortest one in the group. It was funny because one of the Cast members kept rolling up his gown sleeves and the Master who showed him how to duel called him a Hobbit.

As you know, from your son doing it, that a parent is required through the signing up process and then the process after that. That's all Disney will need from you - your word that he's 4-1/2 years old. And a Hobbit
