Child with AP without parents?

We have good friends who are moving to Flordia near to DW. They have annual passes. We were thinking of asking DS7 friend (also 7) to join us for a few days while we are there since they will be so close and I know they are going to be missing each other but just wondered how all that would work. We will be there for 9 days with 7 day tickets. Staying on site. Can he enter with his AP without one of his parents present just with us? They may decide to just come up for the weekend as well so there DD could also come but if they had other stuff going on and just DS could come I just wanted to make sure we would be allowed to take him into the parks.

I've gone into the parks before with my friends' children when their parents fancied a pool day. The kids had annual passes, we had UK 21 day passes. We even used their passes to get free parking. There were no issues at all.

How would anyone know you aren't his parents? These days, parents aren't know as only Mom and Dad.

One issue is that as on-site guests, you could make your fp+ reservations 60 days out but the 7-year-old AP-holder guest could only reserve fp+ at the 30-day mark. Unless you added his name to your resort reservations (which may come with an extra fee to have another person in the room, or may not even be possible depending on your room/resort).

(Not that this should stop you, it's just something to consider as you strategize your trip!)

It's not a problem to have him, we're ap's and my daughter has gone with friend's families & used her pass. She was even able to get them food/merchandise discounts because the cm wasn't strict on the pass vs credit card name.

Thanks for all the tips. I'm sure there's a good chance his parents may be nearby as well. I think I'll go ahead and make our fp at 60 days and the. Maybe it will be simple enough to just get one that will fit our times. We are rope droppers so hopefully that combined with September crowds will make it easy for us to get what we want.

The friend may enter with the annual pass in the same manner as he would with a multiday pass. As was mentioned, the CMs probably won't check to see if his parents were present.

It would be a bad idea to go on a ride leaving the friend outside (without his parents) for want of a Fastpass Plus. Seven is too young an age to be left alone. To prevent this problem, should the friend be unable to make FP+s that match yours at his earliest opportunity (30 day mark), you should reselect yours then to match what he can get.

I have a 7 year old myself so I can assure I would never leave either of them without an adult just for the sake of a fast pass. lol.

All that is required is that a child under the age of 14 must enter the park with someone who is age 14 or over. They will not ask what the relationship is between the child and the person they enter the park with.

Per Disney's rules, 7 is old enough to enter and ride attractions unaccompanied once one has entered the park. Whether anyone wishes to allow their children to do that or not is up to the individuals.

There is no extra fee to add a child under the age of 18 to a resort reservation, but it won't be allowed if the addition exceeds official room capacity.

I have heard of many people taking their child's friend(s) with them on vacation, so I don't imagine this would be an issue. I know that when we went, they never asked about our kids' parents/etc.
