Can a child (3 yo) enter the park with an adult ticket? I just want to make sure since UT sent me an adult ticket rather than a childs. There was a note stating that they did this because of an inventory issue. As long as we won't have any issues, I am not complaining since we are using these tickets to upgrade to APs and the adult ticket was $20 more expensive.

Depends on the CM's staffing the gates that day.

Remember that an adult ticket REQUIRES a finger scan to enter the park.

Which is fine and good until the cast member puts the adult ticket on the child's card, therefore requiring a finger scan for my 6 yr old and no finger scan for my husband.

We didn't realize that child tickets don't normally require a finger scan. The first time we used them was at MK. The CM had me scan my finger. Toward the end of the trip, the HS CM got snippy that I was scanning my finger. She told me that wasn't necessary and to go on through. I had to explain to her the problem. That's when she told us what must have happened.

UT sent me an adult ticket for a child to use a few years ago. After a couple of days of a 7 year old being prompted to scan his fingerprint, I went to guest services and explained the problem. Disney issued me a brand new child's ticket to replace the adult one. They even reinstated the 2 days that had already been used on the 10 day non-expiration ticket which was a nice bonus.

Bottom line, the adult ticket worked fine for a child, but the finger print scan was just too tedius for a young child to do.

Thanks. We are planning to upgrade to APs as soon as we enter the park for the 1st time, so hopefully it will only be once. If not I will go to Guest Services and hopefully they can assist. One finger scan my 3yo might be able to handle (maybe) but I don't know about each time. I'm at least trying to be honest and pay for my just turned 3yo to get into the parks so I hope this doesn't turn into a huge issue.
