Child turning 10 y/o during trip?

I'm thinking about adding my GD to our Sept trip. The problem is we will be there Sept 22nd-30th and she will turn 10 y/o on Sept 25th. I have two questions really.

1. Due to her grades her parents may not let me take her out of school next year and I won't know until after school starts next year. Will it be too late to add her to a MYW with the free dining pkg that I have already booked.

2. Would I add her as an adult or child, since she will turn 10 during the trip?

In general, Disney allows older children, who bought and used tickets when they were under 10 yrs., to continue to enter on their multi-day tickets (even from a previous trip, if non-expiring) until the days on the ticket are finally used up.

I don't know how far in adavance it has to be but on our last trip in Oct. I added my DGM to our ressies w/ the free dining in Aug. I would call and ask to make sure. I don't think it's a problem if your just adding her to your room and your not over the max occ. But you wouldn't beable to add another room.
As far as the ticket you could buy her either one. Disney goes by the age of the child upon arrival day. I went through this a few years back when my DD turned 3 during a trip. I still didn't have to pay for her for the rest of the trip because she was 2 when we arrived. Hope this helps. Have a great trip.

Something to think about with the dining reservations, I just tried to add another person to my Fantasmic dinner package and could not do it. They wanted to cancel the original reservation for 6 and give me new reservation for 7, which of course there were none available. We ended up splitting up for the night.
