How closely do they check ages on children for park admission?

How do they check? My son is very big for his age, and I questioned disney and they told me I would not have to have his birth certificate, but I just wanted opinions on what others thought.

TECHNICALLY...they can ask for a birth cert. They won't. They can/will stop your son and ask him. I've had it done with DD and seen it done with countless other kids. DD was always really tall for her age and talks like she's 20!

Another issue is the restaurants...make sure you don't get billed for him at buffets if he's under 3. We had to have a bunch of bills fixed when DD was 2 (even though they put the age on the ADR but that's besides the point )

I am thinking I may have a problem though because when we booked for free dining, after consulting with the person in reservations, we decided to move his birthday up in their system so he could be on our dining plan, but only had to buy a 1 day ticket for that... I just wonder about that causing problems.

I'm telling you the kid is a monster, 47 lbs and about the same on inches- he's well above the 98th percentile on height and weight. His bday is in early November.

You will still be fine...if he can't talk...more of a reason for them not to say something. Make sure you roll him through in a stroller too! We always bring a copy of DD's birth cert with us. We've never been asked for it but I feel safer having it. Just DON'T USE the ticket...you'll be able to use it when he really does need it. The tickets and the DDP really are separate (I mean they are on one card but the waiters won't know if he used a park ticket or not). You might luck out and NOT get charged for him at buffets! Then you'll have extra credits to use!
