Yes, but the difference might be more than you expect. Since it's unused, they'll credit you for the price originally paid for the ticket, not the current gate price.
Here is the allears.net ticket history page which shows ticket prices by year. Since most years there were price increases, there will mostly be 2 ticket prices listed per year (before & after increase). Multiply the figure x 1.065 to get the ticket price including 6.5% tax.
December.... It is a completely unused ticket, so no days missing, not linked to anyone. My wife and I each have 1 day left on our 10 day NE tickets, my daughter has 9 days on hers, and we had bought one more child one for our son who is only 1 currently. That is the one I am thinking about trying to upgrade to an adult for my wife or myself.....Otherwise we are going to have to go with DVC AP
Depending on the results of other people trying to upgrade:
I'd honestly go the DVC AP route.
Hold on to the 10 day, child pass. Next time you need a pass for your daughter (or son, if awhile from now), USE it, then price bridge it to an upgrade for that child for an AP (or whatever else you need).

I mean, yes...I know..the "value" of that PAP, by it's nature and the fact it has expiration, might not be equivalent. It would depend on your plans for the year, etc, and if you were going to spend more than 10 park days "in world" over that time frame.
If not, I agree...save and use normally on one of the kids.
