Child Swap

We are traveling as a party of 5 with 3 kids ages 4, 2, and 9 months. Does anyone know if we can use the Child Swap program for the two older kids while the other parent stays with the baby? I really don't want to have to wait in line twice to let each kid ride. I have no problem taking the 2 kids on at the same time for the rides that allow 3 riders. But I'm wondering what to do with those that only allow for 2 riders. Are we going to have to skip all those rides to avoid spending double the time in line?

I think your DH can go with child 1 while you wait with child 2 and the baby then when they come back - you and child 2 can go immediately and he and child 1 can wait with the baby. Does that make sense?

You should be able to use the child swap to avoid waiting twice. Just make sure your 9 month old is with you/your husband when you ask for it, because a lot of times the cast member wants to "see" the baby to be sure you really need the swap :rolleyes1 And just ask then how child 2 gets in with you when you use the swap, because what they basically give you is a FP if I remember correctly, so just ask the CM if your child 2 needs a swap ticket too to get back in line with you.

Anything your 2 year old is tall enough for, the baby would be able to ride, assuming your 2 year old is under 38", with the exception of Goofy's Barnstormer which is a 35" requirement. So really it would be your older child who is tall enough to ride going on any other rides that (s)he is tall enough for. The only problem would be if both adults wanted to ride, then each adult could take a turn, taking the 5 year old with them for anything (s)he is tall enough to ride, or just ride alone using the child swap. In the case of the one ride that the older 2 would be able to ride, Goofy's Barnstormer again is the only one that would not allow 3 people in one seat. You can have the 2 kids ride together while you sit behind them. The seat backs are low, you would be able to see them the entire time, and they will feel safe knowing you can see them. It's a pretty short ride also.

Here is a link to the rides with height requirements: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/height.htm

We do it all the time, as the younger two cannot ride any of the big rides...

My older two children luck out! They get to ride twice! In the busy June season this year, we had the nicest CMs! So helpful. I generally let DH ride with the children, the CM would send me and baby to a designated area for a handoff, and then I would get on when they were done- handing baby to DH.

It worked great!
