Child Swap Rules

My dd9 is not going to want to ride some of the rollar coaster rides even though she is tall enough to ride them. Will my dw and I be able to do a child swap even though dd is allowed to ride based on height?

I believe the rule is the child needs to be too small to ride the ride in order for a parent to get a child swap?

When the child is tall enough to ride but doesn't want to then you all go in the line together and swap at the ride itself. Just ask the CM at the entrance how they would handle it just in case.

You would just explain the situation to each CM you meet along the way from the entrance to the ride itself and they'll take care of you.

We've done this with ToT and Splash and both rides made us all enter the line together and swap at the ride...with my 6 year old chicken. ;)

FYI...If your child was under the height requirement, it's a bit different on most rides; they would give you a special Fastpass child swap good for up to 3 people and good all day that you can use for the second parent. You'd head to the Fastpass line with it.

So let me get this straight, if my wife and I and her parents are there with our 2-yr-old and I had a Fastpass for say Space Mountain, then we could get 3 child swap Fastpasses and all go through through the Fastpass line. Then my wife and I could ride while her parents watch our daughter, then her parents can ride while we watch our daughter. So none of us have to go through the standby line at all?!? :confused3 Is this correct?

Ok, let me try and explain. You decide how everyone wants to ride; either stand by or by getting Fastpasses; this is a separate issue from child swap.

Then you head to the CM at the entrance and tell them you need to child swap. They will see your 2 year old and then hand you ONE 'special' child swap fastpass for the second parent (who is waiting outside for the first parent to ride) to use. That second parent can use this special pass when the first parent is done riding (either via standby or Fastpass; its up to you guys). The second parent would then take the special child swap pass to the Fastpass line. Its good for the whole day, for up to 3 people total; that way the second parent doesn't have to ride alone, so if you have an older child or whomever, they can ride with the second parent.

If you got Fastpasses for all the adults (instead of standby), you can all use them while the second parent watches the child, then the second parent uses the special child swap Fastpass to enter the ride when it's his/her turn.

I hope this helps.

Thanks so much. I was afraid we would get split up on all of the "good" rides and many of them have so much to look at while waiting in line I would have been disapointed not to be able to share that experience with my daughter.
