Good Morning Everyone,

As we're getting ready to leave on Sunday :woohoo: I have a quick child swap question. There are 9 of us going- 6 adults, one kid over 40", and 2 kids who are under 40". As far as child swap goes, has anyone ever been denied use of child swap since there are 'enough' adults to split up the party on your own?

Thanks!

No. You could have 1 or 2 people stay behind with the smaller too. (The CM's don't need to know you are together). Then each adult that sat out can ride again with 1 to 3 other guests depending on the ride. Not everybody gets to ride again just a certain number.

All of the child swap passes we received during our visit in January granted re-entry to the pass holder plus two, so up three people (adults plus taller children) were able to ride the second time through.

thanks- we knew only 3 could use the child swap pass, just weren't sure what would happen when we all showed up for the line.

We did it that my hubs and myself rode and my inlaws sat with our LO. Then they were ready to change with us when we came off. It resulted in them getting the front carriage on BTM much to my FIL's disgust.

You get actual passes for child swapping? Is it like a FP? We've did this a couple of times on our 2003 trip, but not since. Is it new?

Most rides (not all) after they see the child (and make sure they do not meet the height requirement) will give you a special child swap Fastpass. Its good for up to 3 people all day.

So yes, it's like a Fastpass.

Lots of times we just make our own version of swapping by getting 4 Fastpasses for our family of 4 and then I go with older DD and then DH goes with older DD. Works just as well as the special child swap Fastpass.

Have fun!

Thank You, we have done the thing where we get Fps for everyone and then split up the riders and DD9 usually goes twice. I guess we'll just see what works. Thanks again

I don't understand this child-swap thing :confused3 , sorry, it's my first time with kids, so be patience with me
Where does this child-swap-fastpasses are? At the end of the queue or at the beginning?
What happens if we want to go to Splash Mountain (DH, DD7 and me) but DD4 which he most certainly meet the height requirement don't want to go? I was thinking that DH stays with him while DD and me go in the ride, and then DH can go.. how does it works then?
Thanks... :goodvibes

Child swap is for children who do NOT meet the height requirements. If you child does meet the height requirements but doesn't want to ride, then they will not give you the special child swap pass but ask that you all enter the line together and then you can swap at the ride itself.

Or you can do what we do and get Fastpasses for everyone and just take turns (which is basically what child swap is anyway) riding.

For each ride that your child can't ride (or doesn't want to ride) just ask the CM at the entrance to the ride how they handle child swap. If your child doesn't meet the height requirements they'll give you the special child swap Fastpass to use. If they do meet the height requirement, then they'll tell you what your options are.

Hope this helps.

The best thing to do is when you reach the first castmember at the attraction, say you want to do the switch off. They will then advise you how to go according to the ride. On BTM we had to go and queue up and my inlaws went to the exit and on to the other platform where they waited on us. They then got on first when we came off. But that was the only one we did. I believe that if you both want to ride your older child will ride twice. But the best way to go is to ask at the ride how it works as each attraction works differently.

It works like this. At the entrance you tell the CM you want to child swap. One parent takes the taller kid while the other watches the youngest. Then the other parent uses the pass (which the CM gives you) and you go in the fast pass line with up to 2 others. So the older kid gets to go on twice if he/she wants. Now I don't know, but I would expect they'd do it even if the kid meets the requirement but doesn't want to go. That's just a guess though. Anyone else know?

No, if they do meet the height requirement then they will ask that everyone enter the line and swap at the ride itself.

This happened to us at ToT, Splash and Thunder. Our 6 year old doesn't like any of those rides and she had to enter the line with us and swap at the ride.....so instead we just did Fastpasses and took turns. Older DD rode with DH and then older DD rode with me. Worked great.
