We will be going next week and I'm hoping my family will get a chance to ride Soarin. However, I don't think my son can go on. I believe there is a height restriction and he's so short I don't think he'll make it. But even if there's not, he throws up fairly easily and I have a feeling that he would become motion sick on this. I don't want to have to close it down for them to map the screen. So I'm wondering how the Swap would work on this. There will be 6 others of us to go on the ride. We could split up in groups of 3 and have some stay with him while the others ride but I don't want to have to wait too long between. I'm not sure how long the actual ride is. Can we child swap or should we just put some space between us in the line. I'm sure will be using FP to ride.

In May 2005 my DD was a little too short for this ride (40 inches) and we did the fast pass type of child swap system. The 1st rider rides alone and the 2nd rider is giving a child swap ticket like a fast pass. This way the child does not have to wait in the line. It takes a little longer then the tradtional child swap (have to wait in the fast pass line) but most rides that have FP now do this instead of the old way.

My DH went on the land with the kids while I rode and I was off before him. You can also have a bit to eat at the new food court. If you time it right the kids can make cookies at the toll house thing while adults ride (and trade off.) At least there is a bit to do while waiting. I waited once at the temp playground on the way to world showcase because my youngest was a sleep in the stroller and they will not allow them anywhere in the pavillion. (even with sleeping babies in them.) Fire hazard. Other pavillions do though (The living seas,)

Thanks for your reply. I haven't been to Disney in 6 years so my memory of the Land is very vague. I have also never seen Soarin but really want to so I am trying to figure this out. If we get there in the AM and getting FP for 6 of us, later we can come back and 3 can go on the ride while the other 3 wait with my little guy in the Land? Then when they come back we could do the other 3 riders? Do you think this would take an hour to have all 6 of us get through it? Just trying to figure out my plan and want to know how long to expect.

You can do that. If there isn't a long wait you can tell the CM at the frount that you are doing child swap. Then 3 people can go while 3 wait with the child and switch off. Or you could do 5 ride, one adult with child and then 5 ride, one adult with child. (only with child swap tickets when you can ride with up to 3 others on the same ticket for fast pass.)

Also after riding it if you child is tall enough you might decide they will like it. It really is a tame ride. I was dispaointed that DD couldn't last time. I know she will love it. She is a shorty and will just make it this time (with shoes) she is almost 5 years old. We discribed the whole ride to her and when we were at the movie in France she said "this is MY sorin" where it feels like you are flying. DH and I thought that was pretty cute.

I know when DD does ride it has to be with her dady. He gives her courage!

One more hint about fast passes. They have a window when you can uses them. However most of the time if you have passed the time (you got busy doing something else) you can still use them after the time window. I have heard that sometimes cm will not allow it only if it is very busy. We do it all the time and never had a problem. (even days later.) Child swap tickets never expire, so you could do the 1st have in the am and do the 2nd half much later if you want.

If you do child swap and you don't have a fast pass the 1st ride will have to wait in the normal line. The 2nd group of riders go in the fast pass line. Be warned the line for sorin winds around back there so just walking in with no wait at all takes at least 5 min if not longer. (rather like space montain.)
