Where have you found child size ponchos? I called a few dollar stores in our area and they have one size fits all which would be long but ok for our older two kids, but too long for our 3 yr old. Any thoughts on where I can find smaller ponchos? If not, I suppose I can cut them.

If you want the disposable kind (which I always do--refolding a wet poncho isn't something I enjoy), then cutting them down is the best idea. There are a few places that have slightly smaller kids' ponchos. We've bought ones with Disney characters on them for $2 each at Target close to WDW, but they still aren't small enough for a 3 year old. The only way to get one for a 3 year old is to buy ones that come in distinct sizes, and those are going to be expensive.

The great thing is that your 3 year old is probably going to be in a stroller. If you get a rain cover for your stroller, then he's good while he's in there. You'll just need him to not get soaked between the stroller and where you get into the lines, and that's not a lot of time. Depending on when you're going (how cold it will be, how often it will rain and for how long), you may not need anything at all for him, or maybe just a hoodie.

You might need to tie a knot in it, even if it is child size. I found the child size ponchos bothered my son even when I tied up the end. I actually got him a rain jacket off Amazon. I bought it big and he wore it on 3 trips, two of which featured tropical storms. His was Toy Story. They also have Lightening McQueen and Thomas. I got it on sale for $8 and he used it as his regular rain coat. They are more now unfortunately; but it did last over 2 years. He wore it from June 2012 to August 2014, starting at age 2. I just gave it a shake and folded it inside out when he wasn't using it.

The store ones would have been too long for my son. I bought this off of zuliliy, but Amazon has these as well. Kept him drier than we were with our $1 ponchos.

My boys really did not like ponchos as little kids. We found they were much better with a kids rain jacket or coat.

I got a Totes one at Michaels (and used a 40% off coupon). It is smaller than the adult ones, but it is still long. It is nearly to the ground on my average 6yo. I recently saw cute Disney (and other character) themed rain coats at Joann. I think they were $12.99. Not bad if you use a coupon. I didn't open a package to feel the material though.

I purchased one at Target a while back on clearance. It was a character one but it was cheap and the right size.

disneystore.com has some -- just watch for the sale though.
