I certainly don't plan on losing my son, but.. better safe than sorry, right? Is there any one is better? Possibly waterproof in case we do water parks or it rains?

Which did you use? Thanks.

We made an engraved dog tag that DD wore on a chain. It had her first name (too small for a passerby to read) and our cell phone numbers.

We used Tottoos on his forearm. He was only 21 mos old at the time and I was afraid he would lose or break jewelry of any kind. I considered a laminated tag hooked to his belt loop as well, but not all of his clothes have loops. The Tottoos worked really well, and lasted several days.

I got DD7 the silicone (?) bracelet from lightbeamlabs.com. I had it "engraved" with her name and "if lost, please call ....." and then I listed mine and DH's cell phone #s. It's waterproof, and I can use it over and over anytime we are out in a crowded park, arena, zoo, whereever. It did take them about 3 weeks to get it to me though. But I think it will work great!

We used silicone bracelets too.. ordered them from sharene. Got four (2 each for each kid) and they cost less than $12 including shipping. We also got them in WAY less than 3 wks, I would say 1 wk... but I actually think it was less!

We opted for the bracelets because it let the kids wear different kinds of shoes and sandals (or Crocs) and I was afraid they wouldn't want to wear a chain around their necks all the time.

Dd is 6.5yo and wore hers on her wrist, but ds is 2yo and we put his on his ankle...both worked out great!

We did this as well but put it on the shoe lace. It was big enough for a CM to know what it is but small enough so it wasn't really obvious. The kids loved their shoe charms.

Wallmart and some of the other dept stores as well as the pet stores have a machine where you can do it yourself. Wallmart now has some disney designs. My sil just got some cute ones for my neice and nephew.

For the waterparks we put them on the kids watershoes - they were young enough so they didn't have to take them off for the bigger slides.

Ditto.:thumbsup2

We applied a new tottoo each day because by the end of one day they seemed to look like they needed replacing (still legible but sort of dirty looking) - perhaps because I reapplied sunblock very often.
Loved them though and will use again in the future.
