Child ordering off adult menu Story Book Dining?

Is there an option for a child to choose one of the adult appetizers and one of the adult desserts as part of the kids meal at Story Book dining with Snow White? We were watching a review of the food there and my 9 year old was excited to try the appetizers and desserts until I showed her the kids option which she was quite adamant that she did not want! Should I just plan to pony up the extra money and purchase her an adult meal (I assume that would be allowed!)

Pretty sure you have to pony up the money and purchase her an adult meal.

If you don't mind the child app, I might suggest you order by age (one adult and one child) and then have the 2 of you share all your courses, so you can pay less, but not limit her in trying stuff - heck, that way, she tries everything.

I think it's one thing when a "Disney adult" wants to order from the child's menu for an adult portion in prix fixe ... but I don't think you'll be able to order adult food while paying the child's price. The difference in food is quite the upgrade. I would just order her the adult menu/price. And she'll get all the goodies off the adult menu. It would be worth it to me, especially at Story Book.

I offered to share mine with her so she could taste them but she wasn’t thrilled with the idea of having to share lol

I think I may end up doing this. At least I know now so I can adjust the budget and go over all the menus with her so I don’t run into any surprises at the places we are eating. We do have a couple buffets booked so we will at least be able to take advantage of the kids price for those!

When we were there in September we were served enough appetizers and dessert for our party of 4. Our daughter was 6 and son 13 so an “adult”. She ordered her main meal off the kids menu and got her separate stuff but was able to try the apps and dessert we had too.
