I am searching for something (like a luggage tag) to put around my kids clothing at DW incase they get seperated from us. (8 and 4 years). I would like info like cell phone #, etc.

Does anyone have a design or better idea for this???

Thanks!

At our local Wal Mart, they have a machine that does engravable "dog tags" in many shapes and sizes. They cost about $5, are made of metal and come with a ring like a key ring type. I had one made for each of my DDs (8 & 5) and then got a carabiner type clip and clipped it to their shorts, spagetti strap, shoe, etc. Each tag had the child's name and my and DHs cell phone # including the area code. At arrival of each park, I showed the children a CM and what to look for if they got lost and also told them to show the CM thier "dog tag". Thank God we never had to use them. both girls already knew our cell #s but I was afraid in a moment of panic they might not remember. Good Luck.

There is a company called Safety Tat that makes temporary tattoos with your cell phone number on them. We used them the last time we went to WDW, they are not Disney designs, but they are cute and the kids had fun wearing them. The website is: www.safetytat.com

Showing them who a castmember is is a good idea in case they get lost. Another thing I've heard and done is to tell our kids that if they are lost to look for a mother with her children. A fellow mom will almost always stop anything to help another child. This is especially good for younger kids who at such a small height might not be able to tell the difference between different adults and who works there and who is just dressed up in their Disney wear. I know that if a child came up to me, I would go with them to a cast member and stay with them until their parent was found.

I hope that this helps.

i used to use a luggage tag for my children, but now we use runner id bracelet. all of your info is engraved on the velcro bracelet. my 9 year old wears it on his wrist and my 3 year wears it on her ankle.

Last year we ordered dog tags for my boys from www.dogtagsonline.com. $7 for a set of 2 with one long chain and one short chain. The boys carry their own bag in the parks and we put the short one on their bag in case they lost it and the long one they wore around their neck. We put our resort name and dates and both of our cell #'s on there. I felt much better knowing they had these.

We made necklaces for our kids using those little squares with letters and numbers and they wear the necklace inside their shirt. It has their name on it and their Dad's cell phone number. Then DH wears one that says "I'm the Dad" with his cell phone number. That way, if the kids' necklace happens to come out of their shirt and someone reads the info, they can't claim the kids because they don't have a matching necklace.

I like the matching id's...I had glow in the dark bracelets made last year for the 2 that I took and had just the needed info on them...
