I'm looking for a creative way to keep my and DH's cell phone numbers on my kids at the parks. Any ideas? (no writing on their bodies, please...anything else). TIA!

I got my hands on some of those plactic id bracelets like the ones hospitals use to id patients. I'm going to put them on my kids for our upcoming trip. They'll go on once and I stay on until I cut them off after our trip.

That's exactly what I am doing to! DS is 1- so they are perfect. If you go to a medical supply website- many of them will send you a sample- since you only need a few, might as well get them free!

I bought a small zipper pouch that you could put some change in and it just clips to her belt loop. It was hot pink and in the shape of a flip flop. I wrote all of our contact info (Hotel name along with both of our names and phone numbers). Here is a picture of her and you can see it hanging on her belt loop. We still have it and will use it again during our next trip in 2008.

I don't know how to insert the actual picture so I guess the links will have to do.. If you know how I can insert the actual picture could you please let me know.. TIA

If you just want you names a cell phone numbers - I'd suggest going to Walmart and finding the pet tag machine. You put in the info you want and it gives you a little metal pet tag, lace it on to their shoes (if they are wearing tennies). We did this for DD when she was 3 and it never bothered her- like I KNEW any thing around her wrist would have. PS another great idea I got fro these boards was to take a pic of the kids every morning on our way out. Then (just in case) we can say - this is what she looks like, this is what she is wearing- today.

Here's what I ordered last Sept. when we went to WDW - you know the popular silicone bracelets that everyone has?? You know - the "LIVESTRONG" bands started it all. Well, I found this vendor online where you can order the bands with any information you'd like on them! In lots of different colors, and they even come in a toddler size. I bought 2 for my DD last Sept. - one in hot pink and one in red (to match her outfits of course  ). On the bands I had them engrave something along the lines of this... "Mommy and Daddy (###)###-#### WL" - there's limited space, but I figured our cell number & our resort would do just fine. I coached DD for weeks before we left that if she lost us, that she was to find another mommy and show her bracelet to them and ask them to call us. Cute, inexpensive and very functional. :thumbsup2 And DD never balked at putting on her bracelet - she loved wearing them.

p.s. They are on ebay as well.

Item #5500 are the I.D. Inside bracelts, we however ordered ours from http://www.simaenterprises.com as well! Extremely quick shipping and a little bit cheaper.
We ordered the I.D. Inside velcro bracelets for our kids and they worked wonderfully. My dd wore hers on her ankle because she didn't like it on her wrist. We wrote our cell phone #'s and our in-laws home #'s on the the plastic strips that go inside the bracelets with a Sharpie permanent marker.
*I was sure glad we had them on our kids as a 6 y.o boy got lost from his parents when we were there and seeing him wait for them in tears with a CM and then seeing them reunited about 15 minutes later was gut wrenching for me...I couldn't imagine if it had been my child. Thank goodness I'd seen a frantic looking mother and called out to her "did you lose your son?" as loud as I could or it may have been longer til they were reunited as she had turned and started back the other way instead of coming down the hill towards Thunder Mtn. RR where he was waiting with the CM.:scared:

I ordered things to put on their sneakers from www.whosshoesid.com. It comes in blue or pink and you can put the info on the inside so no one can see it. It is not on their wrist I thought my guy might not like that. I ordered two because my friend wanted one but they come two to a pack bu oh well, I find someone to use them or I might lose a set myself after we get home.

I ordered these for my step kids! I got the toddler size for my step son (he's going to be 5 in April, but I want the bracelet to STAY ON, even in pools!) I got step son blue and my stepdaughter pink. They have "Daddy's Cell--the number and WL" on them. The kids have tons of these bracelets so they were thrilled to have personalized ones. :thumbsup2

What I did was simple, I just wrote my info on a piece of masking tape then I put it on the inside of their shirt and told them if they got lost go to a CM and give them the piece of tape. The tape never came off even after riding Kali and it did not bother them at all.

Both of our kids wear id bracelets all the time, even at home. They look like medical bracelets. The front has their first name and a fun image. The back has their full name, address, dob, home #, mom & dad's names with cell phone #s. They have a special claps which is hard to take off, are stainless steel, and comfy enough that they forget theyre wearing them. They were them 24/7, even swimming and have come in handy a few times. My son's teacher and another mom have used it to call me instead of wasting time tracking down the number. I got them from Childs Id Inc.

i went to the pet machine and had a luggage tag ingraved...my son will be wearing crocs so im going to safety pin it to his shirt, or i could tie it to a hole in the crocs, or to the stap..anyway you get my point..it allowed me to put his name ,hotel, my cell phone ,dads cell phone, and grandmas cell phone

I posted this on thread on the Theme Parks forum:

I just went to a running store last night for new shoes. When I got home and opened the bag, inside was information on RoadID. They make several different identification products which I think might be just the thing for a young child or anyone who has any kind of communication limitation.

Here's the website: www.roadid.com

Here are a couple of the things you can order...

This is a wrist ID, and there is also an ankle ID. They both come in other colors. $20 each.

This attaches to laces on shoes - also $20.

For each ID there is room for 6 lines of text, 23 characters per line.

There are also dog tags you can order, but as someone else said, you can just get those made at Walmart.

A sharpie and duct tape!!!

YOu can simply write your info on it then stick in inside their shirt or get creative and make a bracelet or anklet out of it!!!

They both come in several different colors!!
