Child credits - QS on DxDDP

As I understand it, if we were on the QS or the regular DDP, the QS credits are not split between adult and child, so we'd be able to order my 5-yr-old an adult meal with her credit at QS venues...right?

But what about on the DxDP? Where credits aren't split between TS and QS? Can we still do that, or are we out of luck? (No, we don't have a lot of QS planned with DxDP, but we do have a couple, and it would be nice to be able to order adult meals and share with the 1 year old!) Thanks!

Credits are not split on the deluxe plan, period.

On the deluxe plan, there are no child credits and no QS credits. All credits are the same and can be used for either TS or QS.

Wonderful news, thank you! Although my 5-year-old will typically want something from the kid's menu, I am going to steer her towards the adult menu at times because it will be easier to share with her sister. Both my kids are "eaters" and would easily dominate a typical kid's meal by themselves. :D

To be clear, the brochures (i.e. "the rules") still say that children must order from the children's menu when available.

supersnoop is correct that the brochure still states children must order form the children's menu. While Disney has not been enforcing this rule, they could at any time. I would go hoping/expecting to be able to use kid's credits for adult meals, because that does seem to be the new norm, but if I was denied, I would not allow myself to be unhappy or angry, as they would only be adhering to the rules.

If you want to save the kid's credit to use as adult credits on yourselves that would be just fine (and pay kids meals OOP). But if the kids are ordering on the DDP they are likely going to be asked to order off the kid's menu. But if you are only using 2TS instead of 4TS you can use the kids credits for yourselves.

Our last trip we saw a lot of inconsistencies with the enforcement of this at table service restaurants. While some restaurants allowed (some even encouraged) DD to order from the adult menu if she wanted, others would not. We didn't push it. I spoke with guest relations after our trip, and was told that the official policy is they must order off the kids children's menu, but at this time they are mostly leaving it up to the individual restaurants to enforce that or not.
