Which of the resort child care clubs would you suggest? or not suggest. Do you need to be staying at the resort they are held in?

If you go to www.allearsnet.com/pl/childfaq.htm it will answer some of your questions about the childcare available at WDW resorts. You do not need to be staying at the resort to use the childcare facilities, but there is a minimum stay (can't remember how long though).
