Child Care Question

I have an alternative child care provider that I use throughout the year. At the beginning of the school year I give her a list of the dates I will need her (when DS's (10) primary care is not available) to see if she is available. I do this again prior to summer so she has enough time to check her schedule and availability. I pay her by the hour. On a couple of ocassions she has called me up and asked that I bring DS over several hours earlier so that they could go do something (ie: ballgame or water park). I send money with DS to pay for the activity and added food expenses (which I wasn't really counting on), but am I also expected to pay for the extra hours he is with her when they are above what I was needing?

Since she is extending an invitation for which you don't need her services, I am inclined to say no. But I do think the only way to know for sure is to ask her.

It would be inapprorpriate for her to expect a wage though IMHO especially since you have to pay for the activity.

Just my $.02.

This is one of those cases where I think you need to ask her. You all want to be on the same wavelength, especially with someone as important as your child.
