Child AP discounts

My 4 year old son was given an AP as a gift but my husband and I will be using different tickets for our upcoming trip. I just want to make sure that the same dining discounts that come with an adult AP pertain to a child if he is the only one with a pass in our party.

I believe the discounts are only for adults.

I'm talking about the restaurants that indicate a 10% discount for passholder and up to three guests on WDW website.

I would call Disney Dining and ask them. Or you can wait until you get there and ask inside the restaurant.

We were thinking of staggering our AP purchases so they wouldn't all expire at once, but DS's pass wouldn't be valid for room discounts so we just bought them all together. I don't know if the AP discount in restaurants would fall under the same rules that the Passholder has to be at least 18.
