In our party we will have a child that eats like an adult and a "Disney technically" adult that eats like a child. Since we would actually have one with adult credits and one with child credits, will it matter if the child orders an adult meal and the "adult" orders a children's meal? The credits would be the same.

I don't think you'll have a problem doing this at most places. Usually, they aren't really fussy about who eats what, just that you have the correct number of credits available (in your case 3 adults and 1 child).*

The only exceptions might be places where there are adult family style option. For example, the Whispering Canyon has an "all-you-care-to-eat" skillet on adult menu; it might be frowned upon if the child eats the skillet and the "adult" (who would be ording it) does not.

Also (not that it really matters), at buffets, the prices will be charged according to age (for the child will be the child's price and the "adult" will be an adult price).

Your KTTW card will show how many adults and how many children you have on your plan. As long as you're ordering the correct number of each meal, I don't see why they would care who actually eats which food.

I believe sharing within your party (reservation) is specifically mentioned as acceptable in official Disney policy.

Of course, there can be an exception like the skillet at Whispering Canyon. Or people have reported that Via Napoli doesn't allow you to share by splitting credits, BUT as long as everyone orders their own meal, I don't think you would have a problem there either.

IME DxDP can 'get away' with a lot more than regular DDP.

Basically since you have so many credits per adult and so many per child as long as you order meals for the credits available you'll be fine. So if you have 3 adult and 1 child, order 3 adult meals and 1 child, then when the food arrives, distribute to the person actually eating. For Buffets it won't make a different - use eat what you want.

If you use any QS then also just order what you want - if you order 4 adult meals it doesn't matter as long as 4 adult credits remain. You could even order 6 child meals if 6 child credits remain.

Regular DDp is a bit trickier just b/c there are specific Qs/TS credits and fewer of them.
