Chico Strollers.. whaddya think?

I have been looking for a nice comfy stroller for our trip next week.. we currently have the hot pink evenflo one but it doesn't recline and well after our trip shopping last weekend and dd getting pinched in the elbow by the bar she was leaning on, I decided I would rather have one that reclines for her! She likes to dose off and I feel awful for letting her lean up against a bar. I love the maclaren but can't justify spending that much money.. I saw the chico ones on the bbrus site and thought about one of those.. my question to all of you others (especially those of you who have one!) is what is your opinion? Is it a good stroller for that price? Does your child seem comfortable in it? Is it easy to manevuer? TIA

I don't have the umbrella one but I have the Cortina and I love it!!! My daughter has down syndrome and very low tone and at 2 she can't sit unsupported and this is the best stroller I have found for her, super comfy full recline and good size basket on bottom, great easy fold too! I have a quatro tour and an Evenflo also and I always default to the chicco since we purchased it.

Like pp I too have the cortina and loooooove it. I just bought a Maclaren Volo and I love it too. They are both great. Sorry, I guess that didn't help you at all.

Just to add. the maclaren strollers have a 55 lb. weight limit, so you can use them for a long time.

Another with a Chicco Cortina. Love it! I had researched the Chicco umbrellas and was not impressed with alot of the reviews. We ended up getting a Mac Quest as our travel stroller. I gotta say though, as much as I love the ease and lightness of the Quest, I am really toying with the idea of taking the Cortina on our trip Monday. The basket and full recline would be great for DS in WDW, but it is so much bulkier to travel with.

We were in BRU and looked at the Capri today to take with us for our 3 year old for the trip. She was super comfy, and loved in when we tested it out in the store. The weight limit, I think was 37 pounds? It seemed easy to steer and lightweight....I really think that is the one we will go with.

Now, if I can find someone to potentially go in half with me so that I can leave it at Pop when we leave...but that's a different story!

We have both the Cortina and the C6 (chicca umbrella stroller). The Cortina is wonderful, but very very big. If you are looking for something both functional and lightweight, this is not it, but we LOVE it. The C6 folds very small and is super light, but depending on the age of your child, the recline is inadequate. If you have an older child, it would be super easy to take. Our DS will be 15 mos on our trip and we decided the c6 was not going to be enough. We got a Peg P3. Bigger, but still umbrella fold and full recline, but not super light weight like the Macs. Let us know what you decide!

I LOVE the Chicco stuff! We have a Chicco Polly highchair, the Cortina travel system, and the Ct 0.5 midsize stroller - which rocks in WDW! Not sure you'll still find the 0.5 in stores. The have the 0.6 which has fewer features than the 0.5. But the 0.5 reclines great (and easily) folds up with one hand, has a carry handle, a rain cover which is AWESOME for WDW - we park the stroller and put the rain cover over it in case it rains while we are away from it. The basket could be bigger but there is also a pocket on the back that works well. The weight limit is 37# on the 0.5, but I think you could stretch that a little if necessary (it won't turn into a pumpkin when the kid hits that weight).

There's a new one on their website called the Liteway which looks a little more like the 0.5 - no idea where/if you can find it.

Good luck - I highly recommend the 0.5 if you can find one. Best WDW ever!

I had the chicco, loved it but the down side is it only goes to 35 lbs.

I own a Chicco Caddy, which appears to be quite similar to the Capri but with a different canopy. We bought it because it is so lightweight, has a shoulder strap to carry it, and folds up compact. It doesn't have a lot of storage so we just take a backpack at Disney.
I'm 5ft. 4 inches and my feet hit the wheels when I walk at first. After a while I figure out how to push without that happening, but it's annoying when it happens. DD (almost 2 now) is just as happy in that stroller as anywhere, but I'd never use it on an infant. The youngest we used it was at 12 months, but she had been walking for 3 months by then.
I've had both a full-size and an umbrella at Disney. I much much much prefer the full-size for its cup holders and huge basket, but the umbrellas are much easier to deal with whenever you need them folded up (to take the train at MK, the trams in the lots, buses, etc.)

My DS is 4.5 now so I'm pretty sure they don't make ours anymore (Tusacny) but it was an awesome stroller! It still looks great after years of use (abuse? LOL!) Actually, once he was able to sit up on his own, we stopped using our travel system and exclusively used the Chicco. GREAT strollers. Drove wonderfully, too.

My only complaint, and looking at their website it seems they may have remedied this problem with their new models, was the way you have to collapse the stroller. It was always gave me trouble (and my best friend as well, who has the exact same one I do). Oh, and keep those fingers clear of the clips when buckling your child in...I can't tell you how many times I clipped my finger in with the buckle. OUCH. (Though that might just be user error on my part..ha ha ha!)

All in all, I highly recommend their strollers. Can't beat it for the price.

We have the Chicco ct.5. Love it!!! We used two of them last Disney trip. This trip, I had to buy a Maclaren Volo for my dd who will be 5, but my son will keep using the Chicco! My husband loves it b/c the handles are taller.

I have a Chicco that I use everywhere. We've had it FOREVER so I couldn't even tell you the model, though the caddy sounds familiar. I got it when my dd was transitioning from the large stroller, so we've had it for at least 4-5 years. It is compact, has carry strap, folds up really easily, and is super light. It reclines slightly, just enough for them to sleep without leaning forward.

The only downfalls I have is there is NO storage, so I loop a backpack around the handles. Also, no cup holder, and I have yet to find one that works well.

Another stroller I bought specifically for our disney trip was the jeep side by side. I wanted an umbrella stroller for the baby, and I knew my 4 year old would need it sometimes too. It was great! The back is made of mesh with a roll down cover, so we kept the cover rolled up and the baby had lots of air circulation. Also it folded up easily, and took up only a bit mor room than a single umbrella stroller. I did see a single like this you might want to look at. I found it to be a perfect stroller for Disney in the summer.

well we went to bru today and I just fell in love with the Chico capri in the 70's pattern!! DD was more than comfy in it ( and she is on the small side anyways so I wasn't at all concerned about it going up to 35.. she has a longgggggg way to go before she even gets close (21lbs!).. I am impressed at how easy it is to steer and wasn't too concerned with the storage ( we never used that feature anyways-just looped a bag on the handles!!)

I had read reviews and alot of ppl were complaining about their feet hitting the wheels?? I have had no trouble with this at all!! I did end up getting a detachable cup holder, hopefully it does well! Thanks again for everyone's opinion I really do appriciate it!!
