(Note: I am unsure wheter this has been posted or not, or if people already know about it. I was unclear, so I assumed that most UK people aren't too)
After watching the Disney Movie, I was left wondering "What was the plot of the Chicken Little nursery story?"; after all it was not something that I was brought up with. So, after looking at sites and links on Wikipedia, I have found the real plot of chicken little.
The story starts with our good old friend Chicken Little. Chicken Little wakes one day and is hit on the head with an acorn from a big oak tree (although, some versions say that it was a pebble from CL's roof).
Chicken Little gets all worried, and thinks the sky is falling and decides to go and tell the king about it. Along his (and in some versions, her), he/she meets characters along the way who all join him/her on his/her quest to tell the king about the sky falling. (They only hear about the sky falling through word of mouth; each person tells each other person that ___ told them about it).
Their group gets huge and by the end the following people are in it: Chicken Little, Henny Penny, Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky, Drakey Lakey, Goosey Loosey, Gander Pander and last of all, Turkey Lurkey. Then, they all meet Foxy Loxy, who claims to know a shortcut to the king.
Foxy Loxy leads them into a cave entrance; with the entent to eat them all. But, a squirrel throws a rock and hits Foxy Loxy on the head, so Foxy Loxy then believes that the sky really is falling and runs off.
The gang all go and find the king, and CL tells the king that the sky is falling. The king asks how this is possible, and so CL tells the king how he/she was hit on the head with a piece of the sky. The king laughs, and informs chicken little that it wasn't a piece of the sky, but an acron/pebble (it was nestled in CL's feathers and was still there!). All the friends then decide to go home; a bit happy that the sky is not falling.
There are many versions to that ending, but since that one is the only one that makes real sense (and is a lot nicer too!) that is the one I am going to choose.
Morals? Don't believe everything you hear; Mass Hyteria breeds Conmen; there's no such thing as Global Warming.. LOL
