My family enjoys them 2 ways. First, baked with a little melted butter dribbled over the tops of them then sprinkled with a little seasoning salt OR a little salt and lemon-pepper. Bake at 350° till done. Second, grilled on the BBQ with BBQ sauce - but we really have trouble convincing DH to go stand outside and grill when he's halfway up to his knees in snow and its 15° out. Silly man.
I don't usually use bone-in chicken parts in recipes any more complicated than that - I just don't like bone-in chicken that much - I have a phobia about the bones and the knuckles and the tendons and the fatty bits and all the other bits that make me gag when I bite into them. If I am going to do a chicken recipe I usually use boneless skinless thighs or breasts.
