Chicken exit question

Travelling next week alone with two DDs (8 and 10, but just a few weeks shy of 9 and 11 years old). I'm fairly certain the 9 year old will ride everything except maybe EE and RnR. We're going to start slow and work up to it (it's been 2 years since she's tried roller coasters and enjoyed everything at the BTMRR/SDMT level) so I'm hopeful, but I know the 10 year old will want to ride everything. Can we stand in line at EE and RnR with the 10 year old and then just take the chicken exit if we need to? 10 year old is fine with riding alone (she's done this at other amusement parks where the line was visible from the sidewalk- I would just stand and watch her go through-as young as 8 so I know she'll be fine).

Yes, we've used the chicken exit at both. I don't ride EE, so I will stand in line with DS10 and when we get to the front, we tell the CM, I'm not riding, my DS10 goes to his appointed spot and then I exit and go through the EE gift shop and stand right at the ride exit so he sees me when he gets off. You can do the same thing at RnR. Simply wait in the gift shop and your DD will see you when she gets off.

You can also do this very easily at Space Mountain.

I waited in line with my husband, but wasn't feeling well by the time we got to the front of the line. I simply exited and waited for him to ride.

I've chicken exited at Everest like 5 times, lol. In fact the first time I ever actually got on, I was 100 percent ready to chicken exit and had a weird moment of courage.

It's very doable!

Anyone can enter the standby line and then choose not to ride. Just inform the cm right before the ride boards.

The only time you can't enter the line is if it's the fast pass line and you don't have a fast pass for it

Yeah, it's no problem at all. I chicken exited at Star Tours at DL because my husband likes the ride but I can't do it. We were even in the FP line. As a courtesy to ensure accurate counts, I told every CM in the line that I was chicken exiting.

Check out EE single rider line. See if that works for you. It is usually very short, and quicker than going thru standby. RnR has a single rider line too. You can just tell them your 10 yr old is only one riding when you get to end of the line.

Just curious.... did u like it.
I love mine train...BMTRR...No Aerosmith, space mountain, towers of terror....
How terrifying for u was it?
Would love to ride EE... actually scared to try FOP but Gonna do it.
OP chicken exits everywhere :-)
Thanks
Kerri

I think my ride tolerance could be slightly higher then yours, as I love Space (although that was scary the first time too). Have not done ToT or Rockin.

However that being said...I DO enjoy Everest, I've been on it a few times now. However, I still choose to skip it sometimes, like my most recent trip haha . It's exhilarating. The part where you go backwards in the dark is a bit intense for me and leaves me rattled. But if you can get yourself on I rec to try it at least once!

Yes, this is what we do as only DS10 rides EE. I typically get a FP+ for both of us and then when we get to the ride, we determine when we should use the FP+ in our window depending on the standby-time for single rider. Even during higher crowd times, using FP+ plus single rider, he typically gets about 3 or 4 EE rides in! And I swim upstream in the gift shop to get him each time!

When we first visited WDW, I avoided: Mission Space (Orange), RnR, ToT, Splash, and EE.

Over the years, I have managed to do all of them (ToT was the last one, on our most recent trip). There's not one I regret trying. And I am someone who hates drops and fast launches. The first time I rode Splash, I was itching to jump out of the seat on that lift hill. Afterward, I felt exhilarated. Do I still get nervous riding it? A little. But I keep telling myself the ride is worth it, overall.

That said, the backwards portion of EE is somewhat intense. It was one of those experiences that, if it had lasted about three more seconds, would have tested my desire to ride it again. As it is, I still look forward to riding it.

I think it's almost always the anticipation/dread that's the worst part of these attractions. If you do decide to ride, keep reminding yourself of how you'll feel afterward. The few seconds you're dreading will pass soon enough. Afterward, you're bound to feel relieved and happy you gave it a try, even if you decide not to do it again.
