I do not want to do this ride, (crazy motion sickness..not willing to risk it), but want to do the cue up to it. Is it possible to this this and then exit before you load onto the ride?

There is a line for castle only tours...you could do that line instead of waiting in the ride queue...unless you are wanting to wait in line with someone.

Metro is correct. The no-waiting castle tour queue takes you through most of the same elements as the main queue--you would miss only the greenhouse outside the castle and the Sorting Hat at the very end just before loading. However, you can still bail out no matter which line you choose.

We just got back. We waited in the regular line for FJ, and did the castle tour. As mentioned above, the only thing you miss on the castle tour is the greenhouse area outside (not very exciting, really). I could have sworn we saw the sorting hat on the tour, too, but I may not be remembering correctly. The castle tour had NO wait at all, and we could watch and explore at our leisure.

Thanks!! I didn't know the castle tour was separate option!! Very Happy!!!

I only had my camera on the castle tour not in the single rider line nor the regular queue and I have a picture of the sorting hat so....:confused3

Okay, doubters. ;)

What I should have said was that the Castle Tour queue does not take you past the Sorting Hat. The exit to the tour is next to the mock-up seats where TMs make sure you can get on the ride vehicle--there is a door just to the right I believe of these seats that they show you out of. If you were to continue in line to ride from this point, you would go almost under the SH. Yes you can see the SH from the exit position, but you don't get that close to it, and I'm not sure you can hear it all that well.

Oops, my bad. :goodvibes

I couldn't hear it that well period, must have been chatting too much the 4 or 5 times I did the regular queue.:rotfl2:

When we did the Castle Tour, we asked and were able to go up those additional 50 feet to get a close-up view of the Hat - not to mention the actual loading area for the ride itself.

Then we just turned around, retraced our steps, and went back out the regular Tour exit door.

so if you *want* to see the Hat on the Tour, you can see it up close if you wish, or just from a distance.

Does the tour exit door, chicken door, and ride exit all dump out in the same place? I'm trying to figure out how to let my kid ride this without me. I plan on taking the chicken door after waiting in line with him.

^ Yes. After the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, tell the Team Member by the test seats. You'll be directed to the unload area, and your child will be able to ride.

Are there inversions on this ride or just a flying type roller coaster? I'm just not sure if i want to ride or not. Really hate RNR at Disney and not such a fan of Space Mountain either.

FJ is not a roller coaster, nor does it invert. It is not at all like RnR or SM.

You are in a 4-person ride vehicle on the end of a robotic arm which is itself on a moving "omni-mover" type track. You will be swung smoothly around into all positions: looking almost straight down, looking straight up, and everywhere in between. There are three simulator-type segments where you are looking at fast-moving scenes projected onto a visual dome (also moving, but motionless relative to you) in front of you. I believe these sim-type segments are what make most people ill. All other parts of the ride are traditional dark ride scenes, although they are closer to you in this ride than in any other dark ride I've been on.

It is most :cool2:, but not recommended if you have much aversion to sim-type rides.

Thanks. I have decided this is one I'm going to skip. There was one time someone talked me into riding a ride that i had reservations about and was sick the whole rest of the day. Not going to ruin my day on the first ride. I'll just take the castle tour.
