This trip my 78 yr. old mom will be along as will my 2 yr old GD. It occurs to me that on the rides she doesn't want to do that she and GD could go right up to the boarding point, enjoying the pre-ride entertainment, then both of them could duck out the 'chicken exit'. Any problems with this?

NOPE>..........

They have those "bail outs" ..........for that purpose..........

1 day huh..........Man.........I wish I were you........

You can do it with some rides, but not all, and thanks to FP, fewer of them. Essentially, with a child in tow that is too small to ride, you have to do the standard procedure for the ride's baby-swap, whatever that happens to be. Sometimes, the baby swap protocol totally bypasses the chicken exit.

It used to be that young children could go through the line at Space Mtn. but bail out with an adult at the chicken exit that's right at the loading area. Now you can't do that; the baby swap is through the arcade ONLY, so no too-short children are allowed to enter the line for Space Mtn.. I don't like this myself, b/c the line area is kind of cool, and I will NOT wait inside an arcade. We no longer swap Space Mtn.; I've just given up riding it.

TOT lets you go through the line, take the child out through the "chicken elevator" and wait in the hallway outside the giftshop, where the ride photo screens are.

At Splash, as there is no chicken exit, little ones are not allowed in the ride line at all; there is a shaded baby playground at the entrance. They give you a babyswap ticket so that after you swap, the second adult can enter the ride through the giftshop exit.

Mom and I went last December and she had no problem with the chicken exits at RnR and TOT. Before you are to get in your car/elevator, just ask for the exit instead. No problems whatsoever.

HAVE FUN!

I don't think you are going to be able to do this since the baby/child dosen't meet the height restriction, so don't get your hopes up. They won't allow a child into the building at all if they don't meet the height restriction. This from our recent February trip, I asked at RnRc, SpMt and Tot as weel as Primeval Whirl.

You can use the child swap option but your party will separate - the good thing is that some in the party will get to ride 2x. I recommend asking at every ride how the CM wants to handle the swap - they do it differently ride to ride and even day to day on the same ride. Most required the to short child to be present when obtaining the swap pass so keep that in miind, once you have the swap pass the non-rider and child can go off to wait/eat take a walk etc.

.

Last summer at TOT we were told the little ones(3 & 4 year olds) werent allowed in the building at all!

If there is a height requirement for the ride be advised that the prob of not being allowed in the building is quite high (this may change withink 5 min of park closing)

The reason behind it- To many people try to sneak their kids on the ride once they are in the building and it usually entails a good guest hissy fit that can bring the line to a crawl. By not allowing the kids in the building at all- it takes a good chunk of the problem out of the way- Yes people still try to sneak their kids on the ride but its not as bad--

As for TOT, it occurs to me that ya'll are probably right where babies are concerned; the first time we did it TOT DS was 3, and he might actually have met the height requirement, he's very tall for his age.

However, the whole way into and through the ride line Dad & I were continually reassuring him that we were just walking through to see the building one time, and that he and I were NOT riding the 'broken elevator', that we would just leave through a regular elevator. If the height was close, the CM might have let us by because they heard my tone of voice (trust me, NOTHING would get me on the real ride elevator; I have a terrible fear of falling. I was ADAMANT that he and I were not getting into that line if there wasn't a chicken exit!)
