has anyone tried the chicken that's cast iron seared in mustard marinade. I would like to eat here but I don't like mustard...is it very prominant tasting?
I would also really nice to know how the chicken is... I try to eat as little beef as possible (I suffer from Gout), but the DW likes a good steak from time to time, so I can try a bite of hers and get the chicken for myself... How is it?

The chicken was wonderful ... I had it in Dec. 06 ... don't let the mustard marinade scare you ... it had a very light mustard-y taste and it ended up being more like a broth in the plate which made the chicken very juicy ... when I ordered it, the waitress said she would put our entree order in right away because since the chef makes it fresh, it takes a little more time to cook than the other things on the menu ... but she timed it all perfectly because, after we finished our appetizers, our entrees were ready ... and the chicken came out piping hot & juicy ... Le Cellier was the best meal we had during our trip ...
Did the chicken come complete with arms and legs? I mean, was it just breast meat or was it everything? (I only like my meat if it doesn't look like it could fight back )

If I remember correctly, I believe it was just a chicken breast with the wing attached only ... it definitely could not fight back ... the roasted chicken at Alfredo's, however, might be able to though ... you get a half roasted chicken with their chicken dish which includes the wing, breast, thigh & leg ... both chicken dishes at both restaurants are very good though ... I would definitely order them again ...
I'm sure you can ask the server when you order it because ours told me that the dish was cooked fresh to order ... however, if I'm not mistaken, usually when something is marinated, that means that it has already been soaking in the marinade prior to it actually being cooked ... unless, of course, they can find you a piece of chicken that hasn't made it into the marinade yet ... which I certainly hope they could do being that it is a restaurant and all ... but the only thing, without some kind of marinade, the chicken may come out a little dry ... I sure hope that somewhere in my reply I helped you with your original question ...
P.S. ... but really, IMO, the mustard-y flavor is very, very light ...
I had the checkin dish when we went to Le Cellier and loved it as did the man at the table next to us. Both of ours came with two peices of chicken breast. I was worried about the mustard marinade but it was fine. A very light flavor. Our waitress without either one of us asking had the sauce(chicken broth type sauce) put on the side. She later told us she did this because some people complain that it is overpowering and drenches everything else on the plate. I am so happy she did. I would absolutley order this meal again as would the man at the next table.
thanks everyone. And yes, I know the chicken would usually sit in the marinade for awhile (I personally let it sit in the fridge overnight), but then I have friends who say they BBQ their chicken with a BBQsauce marinade, when really they've just brushed it on while it's cooking so you never know. I think I'm gonna try it nonetheless and if it's not my fave, I'll just leave it on the plate and fill up on the yummy desserts! It's just, I'm a very picky eater (VERY picky), and it's the only thing on the menu I would likely eat! lol
I don't want to worry you, but IMO, the desserts weren't that good ... there were 5 of us in our party, so everyone ordered a different dessert & shared, but none of us were overly pleased or wowed by any of them ...
