Hi! Trying to decide if it is worth it to get a double stroller. DS will be 2 yrs 9 mo when this baby is born. We currently own a Graco travelsystem (HUGE), a Graco umbroller, and a OLD (1999) double stroller from a garage sale that I use infrequently for the daycare kids. The double is ok looking, but very dated, and is very heavy and hard to push. I actually have to lift it over cracks in the sidewalk as it gets stuck otherwise.
Initally, we just thought that ds could walk most of the time. If we went anywhere big (zoo, trips, etc) we could just take both singles as dh would be with us to push one. And on the rare occassion where i would take the kids to the really big mall (about 30 minute drive) I could just take the old double we have.
Now I found this Chicco Velocita Twin online at a very reasonable price and am considering it. Does anyone have one? If so:
How does it push with two children of different sizes in it?
Does it do okay on pavement and sidewalks (not indoors). We are not mountain climbers or anything but I do like to go walk on a cement trail near my home.
Will an older (2-3 year old) be comfortable in it? He currently weights 28 lbs.
How long do you think this could be used for a child? We are planning our next wdw trip for the year the baby turns two (either early spring or fall 2008), which means ds would likely be 4 (maybe close to 5 depending on the time of year we go). Would it be reasonable to think that this may still be an option or not? I know he wouldnt be riding all the time, but would it work for a rest?
How does it do with doorways (mainly malls, etc)?
Do you have any reasons why you would not purchase this stroller again?
