I know I am posting a lot of stroller ???'s sorry... I am just trying to find a good one, just noticed this one online and wondering if anyone has one, and if you like it. Looking for a umbrella stroller fold (easy to get on and off disney buses) for a 5yo and 18mo. Any opinions are greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Are you looking for a double stroller or just one umbrella stroller? In my family they call me the queen of the strollers! I have tried so many and I am very picky. I do have several for different needs. My children are 19mo DS, and a 6yo DD. I currently use a Peg Perego Pliko for my DS. It folds up to me and in an umbrella stroller way. It is light, has a cup holder, basket, reclines, sunshade and rides great. I love it! With that said I am going to get something less bulky, smaller, for our Disney trip. In the past I had a Kolcraft stroller for DD and I loved it. I am going to buy a new version of it for DS. It is a typical umbrella stroller in how it folds, it is 11 lbs, has a sunshade, but it has a cup holder, it reclines, and now the new model has a "pouch" for keys and such. The only thing it lacks is a basket which I just would use the mesh bags that attatch to the back of it. Here are some links to check out:

Duh! I just realized you are talking about a double stroller. I'll keep that info above up in case someone else might find it helpful. The kolcraft stroller I mentioned does come in a double here's the link:

It is alot cheaper in price than the one you mentioned! I also wanted to add to not get caught up with name brands. I've had them all and as far as what I was looking for in an umbrella stroller I was very happy with the Kolcraft. Try to go to a baby store and try out the models and fold them, carry them, etc.

Good luck!

Thank you for your quick reply! I had posted earlier about the Kolcraft Tour Mate and you answered some of my questions! I wasn't sure if it would last the trip with my 45lb 5yo. Thanks for your advice!

Your very welcome!
My 6yo DD is 42lbs. and she rides in my Peg Perego Pliko when DS wants to be held. I also plan on if she gets tired to let her go in the Kolcraft stroller. Last year she walked most of the time but once she was tired I let her go in the Pliko while DS was in the Baby Bjorn. I don't know what I'm going to do this year if they both fall asleep!

I own a Citta Twin and I actually just got back from WDW with it. :) I can actually give you a comparison of the Citta Twin and the Kolkraft one. On this trip it was just me and my DSs, ages 4 and 2. DH stayed home. We were going to meet two of my girlfriends there. One was with her DH and their 2 kids, the other shared a room with us and had her 2 DDs (also 4 and 2) with her...again, no DH. I had the Citta Twin, she had the Kolkraft. My sons are 47 and 35 lbs. The only problem I had with the Citta Twin is that my 4 year old would lean forward and push down on the footrest strap and it would rub on the wheels basically acting like a brake. I spent most of our first day saying "feet up, please!" My girlfriend had the same problem with her Kolkraft only hers went one step further. When we were in Epcot on our next to the last day her 4 yo DD sort of bounced in the stroller putting her weight on the strap and it completely broke off. She had no where to rest her feet after that and it became a real problem. They traded seats and the 2 year old sat there but even her feet were hitting the wheels.

The Kolkraft is cheaper, but IMHO this is a "you get what you pay for" thing. It has 2 little flip up cannopies that don't provide much sun shade at all, it doesn't have storage baskets (it does have a bag that hangs off the back but if you put anything in it the stroller flips over when the kids stand up), the handles are shorter and it doesn't recline as well. The Citta Twin has true hoods that provide much better sun coverage AND headroom for older kids. For a 5 year old this will likely be an issue. It has 2 decent sized storage baskets and is weighted so that you can hang stuff from the handle bars and not have it tip. I carried a messenger bag that I could make the strap long enough to loop across the handle bars so it hung behind the seats. Very easy to get to our important stuff and the stroller never tipped when empty. The Citta Twin has extendable leg rests which can be raised to extend the seat for a sleeping child or just to give more depth to the seat for an older one (helps to prevent the feet on the wheels thing). The Citta Twin also has taller seat backs and a 5 pt harness (very easy to convert to 3 point if you prefer that way). It also comes with a free custom rain cover. It POURED on us for about a half hour at the Animal Kingdom. I put the stroller cover on and wore my poncho and my kids stayed COMPLETELY dry. The only wet thing on them was my 4 year old's right foot and that was because he stuck it out of the rain cover. :) I had people stopping me to ask where I got the rain cover b/c it fit so well and the kids were so dry in it. The Citta Twin also has better resale value. It sounds like you'll be like me. I needed a double for this trip since I was going alone but my oldest won't be stroller sized much longer so I didn't want to spend twice as much on a Maclaren just to use for this trip and our trip in December. By the next time we go we'll bring a lightweight stroller for the younger one and just rent one if we need it for the oldest.

We both fit through every doorway we encountered and had no trouble in shops. We did both have to make sure the wheels are all lined up the right way to go smoothly through doors etc. but it was doable. You fit onto the handicapped car of the monorail without having to fold it up. We stayed at the Poly so this was HUGE for us. I only had to fold up twice. Once for the bus to AK and once b/c DS wanted to take the boat back to the Poly rather than the monorail. I had no problems with it. Much more compact than other doubles we've had. It's wider than the Macs by like an inch or so (as is the Kolkraft) but considering how much I'd be using it, that extra inch wasn't worth spending an extra $150 for.

I was quite pleased with it to be honest with you! My girlfriend was going to toss her broken Kolkraft when she got home and was thinking of ordering a Citta Twin herself for their next trip.

Lollipop Mom,
Thank you so much for your insight, your comparison of the two was so great! If you don't mind I just had a few more specific questions:
Did they both fold up to about the same "compactness"? And how about manueverablility, did they both ride smoothly except for the feet on the wheel issue (which I am sure will be an issue with us)? Did you find the baskets big enough to put things in and did you have to empty them to fold up the stroller?
Thank you again for your thorough review, it was greatly appreciated!

Did they both fold up to about the same "compactness"?

I didn't stand them right next to each other and compare but we could both put them in the same spots in the room so I'm thinking yes they did. They are about the same width and both have 3 sets of wheels. The Citta Twin's handles are a little higher but the width is really what determines how compact the fold is.

And how about manueverablility, did they both ride smoothly except for the feet on the wheel issue (which I am sure will be an issue with us)?

Personally, I like the Citta Twin better but a big part of that is that I'm 5'10" so the higher handles are a big help. With the age of your kids consider that you'll be putting a lot of weight in the stroller. That affects how well it manuvers. We had both of the little ones in one stroller sleeping and the older ones in one stroller and with either situation, the Citta Twin was easier to manuver. The Kolkraft was OK, it's just that the frame on the Citta Twin is sturdier so it handled the weight a little better.

Did you find the baskets big enough to put things in and did you have to empty them to fold up the stroller?

I had most of my stuff in the messenger bag that I hung from the back handles but on the night we did Spectro and would be out late I packed a bag with pants and lightweight long sleeve shirts for the boys and a sweatshirt for me. It all fit into one basket with room to spare. I also had times where I had light spinners and popcorn tubs etc. in one basket. There was room to put my messenger bag into a basket but it was easier to get to stuff hanging it on the back. I didn't kick it or anything when pushing it and it didn't cause a problem if we wanted to recline the seats for the little ones. It made it easier to grab and take on rides and stuff that way. Even if I just took my camera and tickets and left the diapers and stuff in the bag, it was nice knowing the stroller wouldn't tip over. My friend had to make sure she took her bag off the back, got her 4 year old out, flipped the mesh bag over into the 4 year old's seat and then unbuckled her 2 year old to get out or the stroller would tip over and everything would fall out of the mesh bag. Then of course she had to do it all in reverse when we were ready to go again. As far as folding it, soft stuff or small stuff (like clothes or diapers etc. could stay in but larger stuff had to be removed since the seats collapse in with the umbrella fold.

The Kolkraft is cheaper to buy, but won't hold up as well and won't have much resale value. The older child will have less seat room in it (shorter from seat back to the end of the seat) so more of their legs out (thus more feet on the wheels). The Chicco has better leg room and better sun protection and will last longer but is more expensive to purchase (the cheapest I found it was at babyage.com I ordered it when they had a 10% off code so it was like $127 and I got it in less than a week). It has a pretty good resale value. Gently used ones have sold on ebay recently for $120. You can always buy a sun protector like a protect-a-bub or pepenny shade and use with the Kolkraft but then you are getting close to spending the same amount as the Chicco and you don't have to take the shade off to fold it. If your five year old will be in it a lot, I'd go with the Chicco for his/her comfort and your sanity. If s/he is only going to be in it occasionally and you won't need the stroller again, then the Kolkraft may be worth considering because it's so much cheaper.

My pictures are uploading to web shots now. I can post a link to each of our kids in their strollers as we went into MNSSHP so you can see a little bit of the comparison. Our 4 year olds are about the same size. My younger one is 2½ and hers just turned 2 so my son is a little bigger but her daughter is big for her age too.

I just wanted to say that this is the best review of 2 strollers I've ever heard! I don't need a double stroller but I'm sure you have helped the OP!!! Great job!

Lollipop Mom,
Thank you so much for the review, it was waaay more than I had hoped for, it even convinced my hubby to go with the citta. Thank you so much for giving so much time to such a good review!
