Chicco C5 vs Maclaren Triumph

I have a Mac Triumph and love it! I don't have an issue with the restraints. It took me a while to learn how to open and especially close it. I don't know how many times I pinched my finger trying to close it after I remembered what thing to push up.

Its not that its hard its just different from the other strollers I have owned and I'm a ditz. I love it even more now that I'm a pro. :thumbsup2

roliepolie,
Please tell me the secret to opening the safety belt! I am the new Volo owner that is going crazy trying to get those things to open more easily:confused:

Since your son is just 4 months, I would go with the Mac Quest, it reclines more than the Mac Triumph and has the leg extender, which is a must with a young baby, also the seat is deeper so he will be more comfortable when he is older.

SO funny that you suggested this, I just had Dh on line looking at colors for the triumph, he spotted the quest and wants to know why we can't get that! He likes the window and the leg extender. I have to go to the store with him and look again, plus I need to check out these clips that are so hard to open.

Ok so now tonight I went to BRS with DH and we have settled on the Quest. It is slightly taller than the Triumph and DH is 6'5 so I thought that was fair, the Techno was of course much higher but a little too much stroller for what we want. To all you quest owners, does it come with the shoulder carry strap or just the little handle? The clips are hard to open, what is the deal with that? I hope that they loosen up!

I read your post - and wanted to tell you I have the same frustation with the Graco Seats.... I first bought the Snug Ride (he was born in April before the Safe Seat) and my son out grew that, so we bought the Safe Seat thinking 30 pounds, he will be in it til one year - well at 8 months and 23 pounds he was so packed in there I hated to snap him in. So we had to go ahead and get a convertible car seat.

They may say 30 pounds but I have no idea how...

I have a 2005 Mac Quest and the restraints are still tough to get undone. You get used to it after awhile. It used to frustrate me (though this did not diminish my love for it) but now that my triplets have turned 21 months old, I am thankful it is a little tougher b/c they can't get out!

I have been reading all of the stroller posts. DD will be 10 months when we go to WDW in June. I have looked at Chiccos, Maclarens, Combis and even a few Peg Peregos that are smaller and lighter than my Graco Metrolite. I love the lighter, but the smaller makes me nervous. DD LOVES her Metrolite (so do I for that matter) ...she rides around in it like she is the queen. I am concerned that she will feel cramped and get fussy. Now I'm starting to think I should just drag the Metrolite. It weighs almost 17 lbs as opposed to the 12 lbs for the lighter ones I've been looking at. I think I can live with the 5 lbs (or my husband or 14 yo DS can), but I worry about the way that it folds. How big of a pain do you think this will be and is it worth it???

Hi I am a new mom so I am not an expert on this but here is my thinking. I got the lightweight stroller(mac quest) for the airport, quick runs to the pool, and restaurnts at the resort. I also wanted to have a lighter stroller for home to the beach etc. I think that my DS who will be 12 mon when we go needs a bigger stroller for the parks so he can lay back and have the tray in front of him. My quest does recline also but I am hoping for some real good naps so I think the graco will be better. I am rentng a quattro from BBF for the week, that way I have all options open to me. I don't want to lug that big thing around the airport so that is why I am going to rent, they will bring it right to the resort and pick it up from there, I am also renting a crib from them. Not sure if this is an answer to your question or not:rotfl: I think that the extra weight is worth it if your baby will be more comfortable. My son does love his quest, I ride him around the house in it now at 4 1/2 months and he always falls asleep in it. Good luck, have a wonderful trip!:goodvibes

I loved my chicoc when I had it but I had to move up to the Mac because DS was a heavy child. The Mac goes to 55 lbs and the chicco only to 37. Yes the Mac costs a lot more but it was worth it.
