Chicagoland Speedway Question

DH and my FIL are going to the races there this weekend (FIL's 60th birthday present from us) anywho if you have gone which is the better way to get there.

1. Take the metra Rock Island to Joliet and use the shuttles to get to the track.

2.Drive and take side streets (we are south of 55 near Lemont) (Archer, Rt 6 etc) to get to the track.

Either way the boys are leaving early like 8 am or before.

Thank you in advance, and other advice you may have let me know-its Dh's first race.

Never been out to the speedway but I'm on the Rock Island everyday - and wanted to remind you that the Western Open is going on right now and traffic in and around lemont will be brutal this weekend - especially early Saturday morning. However, I'd still drive.

I know we are right near Lemont (western traffic though seems to go down RT 83 more) I think either way the boys will have problems.
