came home to 4 inches in the basement, at the drain. It is the most water we have ever had and we are counting our blessings. One, that it is so little compared to what other people have endured. Two, that we still have power.

I do not think it is the holes in our foundation leaking, I think it is coming back up the drain!

I bought a submersable pump at home depot. $90 was the cheapest... they had a guy permanently stationed in that isle.

I think more rain is coming.

how is everybody else doing?

Iowa/Illinois border for me. It sure has been strange weather. Storms just came through this evening. 80-90mph winds for a short period of time. One really leaning tree but other than that, not too bad.

NW side of chicago here. I had lots of pea size hail this afternoon. Some water in the basement where it came under the dood & some seapage. Not to bad & will be cleaning tomorrow when this all stops. I heard that they got 4" or rain at Ohare field this afternoon. It seems like we are starting to live in the tropics with its rainy season. We are way over what we normally have in rain by this time of the yr.

Central Illinois here! No power, but we do have a generator going to run some fans, a few lights, and the water. The rain didn't hit us too hard, it was mostly strong winds. Our neighbor has a couple of downed trees, and there's a power line and pole down around the corner. So we're sitting tight waiting for that to be fixed.

looks like it might be over....

power was good but we lost phone/internet/cable for a couple of hours...we actually had to talk to each other and read! :faint: ;)

Basement is good atm, the sump pump is working its little hiney off tho. I am glad this seems to be passing, DD was at camp today and NOT happy with the storms!

we pumped 3-4 inches out of the basement twice and it seems to be staying down now... I'll check it again in a short while.

It looked horrible and lightening was fierce here in Indy, but it was all noise and not much else, thank goodness.

Be safe everyone.

We were at a wedding in Joliet and came home around midnight to trees down in our subdivision, the front screen door completely bent and pulled out of the frame with the glass panel laying on the porch. Also a couple pieces of patio furniture were blown around the back yard. My DD's cars on the driveway were covered in fresh green leave that were blown off the trees. Yesterday was garbage day so the recycle bins that some of the neighbors hadn't picked up yet were all over.

It looked like we had a tornado or micro-burst.

Luckily,we didn't loose power and the basement is dry!
