Hi guys! We're traveling at the end of october and wondering what other chicago people have found by way of flights? What's the best airline for prices- southwest? And how much do tickets usually run? We'll have to fly into ft. Myers to visit grandma, and out of orlando. I'm not sure whether to jump on tickets right away to make sure we get the flights we want, or wait to see if deals happen?
Thanks!

Hi! Are you closer to Midway or O'Hare? We've flown Southwest out of Midway and the flight itself was very easy (and well priced!) but getting to the airport - ouch. We're coming from Madison, WI so ORD is a much easier and faster drive! We've gotten incredible deals flying Frontier out of O'Hare, and also pretty decent prices on United from there, too.

Flights cost anywhere to $300/person round trip (Southwest - wanna get away airfare), to crazy good deals on Frontier with $74 flight there and $99 flights back. Just depends on the days you are flying. (Tuesdays and Wednesday are the least expensive days to fly on Frontier!)

Thanks! We can do either midway or o'hare (we're in the middle). Wow, that deal on Frontier sounds good! Are they a pretty good airline (never flown them)?

We had no problems whatsoever with our flights on Frontier from ORD->MCO. The fares are low, but you do have to pay for anything you bring above a very specifically-size personal item. We paid for two checked bags (each way) when we purchased our tickets and paid less then we would have if we'd paid at the airport so that was nice. You also have to buy any drinks and snacks you want on your flight but my kids actually thought that was pretty fun :) I think we got a package for the kids to share that was two drinks and two snack items for about $15? Sorry it's been about six months since the last time we flew with them! They accepted debit cards/credit cards on board for the snacks.

HTHs!

This is great to know! Thanks so much! I wouldn't have known to look into them. I appreciate the tip!

I'm finding fares around $150-$172 one way right now-- should I wait to see if they go down? I just worry about getting three seats together (I have a fear of flying so have to sit with DH, and DD obviously needs to be with us). :)
