Is there anyone out there who has experience of the BMI/Flyted codeshare from the UK to Orlando Int?

Just would like to know a little bit more about the process of getting from Terminal 5 to terminal 1 on the Airport transit system. Hate not knowing alot about it.

Hi, we did it last month.
You get off plane go thru Immigration, collect your bags go thru customs drop bags off, no need to line up at desks just drop off right of desks. then follow signs to Terminal 1. Its just a simple monorail type system, nothing to it.
It was all very easy and there are staff on hand, we were asked twice if we needed help.
We were delayed 3 hours due to having to wait for pilot arriving from NYC. then delayed 2 hours coming back home due to bad weather( we actually got hit by lightening), just managed to get to gate in time for flight back to Manchester.
Its not the best of routes but I would travel anywhere to get to Florida, our option was BMI via Chicago £319 or Virgin Direct £800, I like Virgin but not that much.

We did this route in August with BMI. After this experience however, I will always choose to fly direct. It was far too stressful.
However it is quite simple to get from one Terminal to another. Everything is very well signposted. Like the other poster said there is a monorail/shuttle type train which takes you to whichever Terminal you like.

I presume that you then go through the US security in terminal 1 after you move to there. We didnt see the changeover last year as stressful, more an opportunity to stretch our legs and get a decent meal down us. I liked the fact we strolled through Orlando Int as we had already cleared everything on immigration.

Yes you have to go thru security in terminal 1.
We also dont mind the stop over, I hate getting to Orlando Int going thru Immigration then about half the people on the plane seem to want a Dollar car. OK indirect takes a little longer but when you get to Orlando its 10 times easier. We saved £1,443 doing this route last month compares to Virgin. I also enjoy a change in New York the view of Manhatten is worth the detour alone.

Which is why you send your Mrs to get the luggage whilst you make a beeline for the Dollar desk! Works every time!
