I am so excited. Our family vacation will start this Saturday. We will be in Chicago/Wisconsin Dells/Milwaukee all next week! My kids are really looking forward to this, especially the Wisconsin Dells part!

I am not sure what type of clothing to pack. Can anyone who lives in this area of the country give some tips? Will it be warm enough to swim?

Also, any restaurant tips would be greatly appreciated.

I live about an hr. from the "Dells". (Also about 1 1/2 hrs. from Milwaukee) It is only suppose to be about 70 for a high temp. on Sat. You will probably need jeans and a light jacket for early am and later in the day. The rest of the weekend and early part of next week is only suppose to be in the 60's, but at least the only rain they are calling for is 30% chance late sun. into mon. (We are really flooded up here already!) What hotel are you staying at in the dells? Alot of the hotels have indoor pools. You will have alot of fun at the dells. There is sooo much to do and see (especially the ducks and upper dells boat tour, which in my opinion are must do's)-very tourist friendly town.

Right now Chicago weather isn't so great. I would bring mostly pants, and a light jacket, some days it might get warm enough to wear shorts so pack a few. When in Chicago the thing to eat is PIZZA!!! mmmmmm... I recommend Gino's East it is the best. Depending on how much time you have in Chicago I would say check out the 75 Mickey's on State Street. (They are here till mid June) And the Magnifcent Mile (awesome shopping) On your way to Wisconisin in Six Flags Great America Theme Park which is pretty cool. And right by that is Gurnee Mills Shopping center which is also nice and they have an indoor ice arena. One of my other fav restaurants is The Hard Rock Cafe (I believe it is on Ohio) If you are looking for hotels in chicago I think the site 180096hotels usually has great deals. Look at the Mag mile or Loop.

As for the Dells I have never been there but I hear it is great and some hotels have a indoor water park/pool.

As long as the weather cooperates you shouldn't have a problem in either place. Chicago is a great city. Go up in the Sears Tower or the John Hancock building it is a cool way to see the whole city.

Hope you have fun! Let us all know how it goes.

Thanks for the tips. We are staying at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. They have an indoor and outdoor water park. We will definitely check out the Mickeys! And deep dish pizza sounds delicious.

If you don't like the weather in Chicago just wait 10 minutes, it will change. :)

Have a nice time.

You will love the Kalahari Resort. I agree with mickeysdsnyprncs- Ginos East in Chicago has awesome pizza!
