My friend and I are going to be in Chicago next month, but only for one day! We want to pick a good place to eat while we are there but there's WAY too much to choose from! Any suggestions?

YES!
Bella Bucino's Chicago style stuffed pizza!
It's awesome! Especially the deep dish spinich.
Best and most unusual pizza I've ever eaten.
We ate at the one on Wacker Drive... but I imagine the others are the same.

Only one response all day? Surely more of you have suggestions!

What kind of meal are you looking for?

Harry Caray's is my FAVORITE restaurant/Steakhouse/Italian food in the whole world.

brazillian steakhouse. protein gone wild.

Rick Bayless, Rick Bayless, Rick Bayless. He has two restaurants. Try one. You will not be disappointed!!!

Where are you looking? Downtown in the loop or suburbs? Chicago is a great place for many differents kinds of food stuffed pizza, ribs, steak. What kind of food are you looking for. Will you be using public trans or will you have a car?

We loved Harry Caray's too! Great steaks and chops :)

We also liked Gino's East for deep dish pizza.

Well, we will have a car, although we are thinking of doing a trolley tour. I'm not exactly sure what area we'll be in, but I know I want to stop at American Girl Place. :)

My friend says hot dogs and pizza- I'm pretty much up for anything, particularly something that is something associated with Chicago.

Gino's East for sure for deep dish pizza . We have been to the one right off Michigan Ave.

I am going to Chicago for the first time next month and would love suggestions, too. We are staying on East Water Street at the Sheraton.

Thank you!

Where in Chicago, what type of food, what price range.

If you're on the Magnificent Mile (which you will be if you're going to AGP), then I recommend Rosebud on Rush. Great Italian food!! :thumbsup2

We thought it'd be cool to find some little dive that all the locals go too. We probably don't want to go *too* terribly expensive.

I read about a Polish buffet called the Red Apple. Anyone heard of it?

I cant believe no one has suggested Quartino's!!

http://www.quartinochicago.com/

also go to yelp.com - its where a lot of people post reviews....

Quartino's was also featured on a Chicago Restaurant show Check Please! (google!)

its simple fun food!! I'm a picky eater, its of an Italian flare - and their Sangria is good...

Love Red Apple
The closest location to down town is way north west up by me. Downtown eats if you want a local dive type place, Billy goats on lower wacker. the burgers are great!

Giardano's for pizza
Miller's Pub for ribs
The Cheesecake Factory is fairly close to the American Girl Place
Berghoff's
