I will also add that the one year the Cubs were doing really well and there was World Series speculation...I was really hoping the Cubs would make it in. In St. Louis you 1st hope for the Cards...and then for anyone else as long as it isn't the Braves, Yankees or Mets!

I lived in St Louis as a kid and have been a Cards fan forever....no way most Cardinals fan would root for the Cubs to win the WS. They are obnixious enough when they win a regular season game...I would hate to imagine how they would be if they ever won a WS. Of course, the day that happens the world will likely end the following day anyway.

How about when the Cards were in the World Series in 2004 & 2006, were you rooting for them to win?

As a Cardinal fan, I didn't realize that saying Cubs fans are obnixous (hello, they have a freaking song they sing after EVERY victory) was a big deal.

Gotta love Cub fans....

They celebrate when they are in first (er, make that 2nd place) in July.....most teams don't get too happy about that sort of thing until Oct.

We certainly love us some "Go Cubs Go!" when we win. I have been able to sing it 8 of my 10 games (so far) this season and TWICE against the Cards.

Yes, I did. I always root for the National League ... except when the Braves played the Yankees ... I was *sick* of the Braves by then.

Yeah, you're right...I just always root for the underdog and (sorry) but the Cubs are nearly always the underdog! Cubs fans can be a bit obnoxious...but they are tame when compared to the Mets, Yanks and Braves (those teams I can't stand!)

So I guess what I'm really saying is that if I had to choose between the Cubs and the Cards...I'd pick the Cards, hands down! But if the Cards aren't in the WS, I'd cheer for anyone as long as they aren't the Mets, Yanks or Braves (oh, and I need to add the Phillies in there too...not fond of their "dirty" tricks).
