Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

So, the DIS stopped notifying me again and I've been so busy with both jobs (full time job and umpiring softball), not much DIS time.

Anyhoo...going to the Brave's game tomorrow vs. SF Giants. It's my son's 21st birthday, so taking a fairly large crowd. Question...should I wear my Cubbies gear or save it until I go to the Cubs games? It's either that or wear Star Wars (May the 4th be with you).

Normally I would ALWAYS say Cubs, but you only get May the Fourth Be With You once a year. I combine the two & have this one I wear (only mine is 3/4 sleeve baseball jersey )

Nice to see you back here and have a blast at the game and Happy Birthday to your son! 21 is a DOOZY!Is he going to buy his first legal beer at a ballpark? 'Cause that's uber -cool, (and far more appealing than a binge drinking celebration that might not be remembered)

ETA: Forgot to post to wear your Cub's hat with the Star Wars shirt, lol. That was a given. Hope the group has a great time and whoever you are rooting for gets the W!

Hoping for some El Mago tonight~I think the only one in tonight's lineup who has ever faced this Card's pitcher is Zo..which would explain him in LO. Could be a rough game but looking at it as this pitcher has never faced our hitter's either.

Well that was both annoying and nostalgic at the same time. Annoying to lose 3 in a row and one to the dirty birds but nostalgic to 2015/16 to see a 9th inning rally. Javys error , then Riz off the bag & the pitch mix up to Pham gets them the win. Nice throw by Schwarb's to Willy to get Carpenter at the plate. Lets get them tomorrow!
Unfortunately , 2 Cardinal's decided to hang in my patio bushes earlier...I blame them.

or if Zo or whoever is leading off (and he did get a LO hit) the having Al Mago down the lineup is like another LO punch for the latter innings when we have PH. No matter who is where tho, I am just hoping they get in a rhythm soon. This Division is probably going to be tight all season and a handful of games could decide things. On the ironic upside, when your ST pitchers can't go more than 5 , their arms shouldn't be blown out by PO time Our bullpen will be toast tho. In a couple of weeks with no days off due to make up games, is really going to be stressful I think. It will be the mental pressure of "it's the Marlins/Sox/Braves/ Reds~ all teams that our division rivals have stacked their records with W's so we absolutely should be able to do the same..but we will be stretched thin and those teams (for the most part) are starting to heat up. Oh well...I won't be posting any more Javy Highlight's jinxing him. I'm pretty sure he is not thrilled with his defense and is gonna do something about it.

Apparently the Cub's had interest in Mikolas, passed on him for Chatwood. Mikolas was motivated to show the Cubs what they missed out on. Said they chose to bat in front of me rather than behind, so there's that, along with the new running joke that we took the wrong pitcher from Japan.
Chili is under fire from media, fan's (and Mallee is doing great over in Philly, btw~ and Detroit thrilled with Bosio)
Lineup changed again, along with OF ~ maybe THIS sparks something? We *technically* should light Weaver up......


LETS EVEN THIS SERIES UP! GO CUBS GO!!!!!!!!!! Hoping to participate in overpriced Cinco De Mayo margarita's with a W, not to drown my tears, lol

Lead the whole frickin' game~ I don't think Norris or whoever that was in the 9th for STL was hurt at all. That was a momentum breaker instituted by Metheny. That one hurt. On the upside our bats came alive, but then again it was against Weaver. Heck of a slide by Addie tho, to score.Drown your sorrows margarita's it is. DANG it!

I still think the Albert/Javy lead off generates more excitement than Zobrist/Bryant/Rizzo/Contreras/Schwarber. Sometimes they are just looking dead and like they don't want to be there. I'd like to get some pitchers do eight innings though. And Carl and Strop each did some nice innings. Strop lasted two. Carl's looking good getting a full inning done, too.

I find it somehow satisfying tho, that it's Cub fan's he feel's the need to mention after that game, lol. We're under their skin, errr, feather's.
