Chicago DIS Meet - August 16 Part One
Like the famous all day Gurnee Mills meet a while back, KimRaye and MamaJoan planned the Mother of All Meets this past weekend that centered around the last stop on MamaJoan's roadtrip Vacation. Although we couldn't make the pre-meet the night before, we ditched the kids at Grandma's house and did a shorter version of MamaJoan's roadtrip to join everyone at Ginos for Lunch.

Ginos put us in a prominent position in front of the restraunt (what were they thinking?) and we all sat down to chat waiting for stragglers to show up:

Finally deciding that we were too hungry to wait any longer, we all ordered some nice lunch items. Well, every except for Dopeygirl who <i>forgot</i> we were eating at this meet and ate lunch before coming. She decided to get this instead:

Decemeber99 and her family showed up after picking up their new vehicle:

And Yepod also showed up with his family for some eats too:

And the reason for the meet, Mamajoan (whom we must have bored to sleep) and her DS Jake(?):

Food was great, and we hung around for a while talking before we broke off and headed over to Woodfield Mall and the Disney Store there. We lost some people at this time - Yepod and his family headed off to Ikea (and maybe the container store) and December99 and her family had to head out to another family function. Of course, Dan Murphy had to leave to go to a 1st birthday party, something that was a bit of a joke for those at the pre-meet the night before. Here we are just before we left:

<b>Chicago DIS Meet - August 16 Part Two
At The Disney Store in Woodfield, we picked up Brisully and also ran into CM BethanyF who ended up being a member of the DIS boards. She must have recognized that crazy DIS look that we all had to us. Everyone did some shopping and Brisully even tried to get Bethany to trade off her pin that she had on her nametag. Sorry, no such luck. Before we left TDS, Bethany snapped this picture of us:

It was nice to meet Bethany, and we hope we didn't get her in too much trouble talking to her. We did some more shopping at Yankee Candle Store, some Chicago tourist shop, (Gymboree for DW) and the Apple store where we all DISed on their awesome 23 inch monitor. Dopeygirl, if you need a link to that sketchpad you promised me, just ask.... There was some talk about the scents in the Fannie May Candy store and we all stood watching a lady give a sales pitch over and over again to passerbys. After some good shopping, we bid farewell to MamaJoan who was going to back to the hotel to meet her kids (whom she had dropped off over at the hotel) and spend some good family time, probably by the pool.

We decided to head over to a local brewery to get some more eats. We all weren't that hungry from the late lunch, but it was too early to call it quits, so we all kept going. Again, we all had good eats and great talk. Even the weird tasting water and warm restraunt wasn't enough to stop us all from having a good time. Of course, what would a good time be without some images to remind us of the time we had:

Oh, did we have a good time! It was nice to meet all the new faces and spend some good time with old friends.

We did make IKEA (you were right, we were crazy LOL) & as for my two store limit, we headed home at that point

I am so thankful that we were able to meet you.. and Laugh with you!

A) Get the story straight--I didn't forget about lunch...it just didn't click in my head that I'd be eating two lunches. First one makes me sound like a ditz, the second one makes me sound scatterbrained (which I am right now!)

B) You just lost my gift from the Apple store! Good thing I kept the receipt!!
