Chicago area Oct/Nov Fall DIS meet date poll. We need to get a date!!!

I went through the feeler thread that Kim had posted a few weeks ago, trying to get some date ideas from those who would like to be coming to the Fall Chicago area DIS meet.

In addition to this meet being our Fall function, it also will be sort of a 'going away meet' for our DIS friend who has been in the Chicago area ever since getting married and moving away from her home in Indiana four years ago, Dopeygirl (Tricia), our buddy, Trish.

We're hoping to have a nice turnout of the many folks that DG has been able to get to know over the years here in the Chicago area, as well as sharing some great time with the fine people we have in the area. And I do hope that the many DIS'ers in the area...Chicago, IL, IN, WI, MI, IA, OH, MO, MN (where do I cut it off, LOL? ALL are welcome from anywhere.

) who have never been to a DIS meet, take this opportunity to try one on for size. I guarantee if you do, you'll be back for others in the future. They ARE fun, right guys????

After going through the dates from October 4th (first Saturday in Oct) to November 23rd (last Sunday before Thanksgiving), the ONLY dates not mentioned as being not good were Saturday and Sunday, November 22nd and 23rd.

For me, those dates are fine, and, according to those who posted, they were fine also (unless I missed something). I am posting this poll, with multiple choice selection (you can pick more than one choice). For those who read this and vote, please vote for November 22nd/23rd, if that is good for you, PLUS any other dates that are good for you. I think this should help us nail a date down, the first step in getting the meet off the ground and going.

I will be out of town the first weekend in Oct., (L.A./Vegas), and the last weekend I will be leaving for Orlando. I voted for the middle two weeks. November is good for me right now (so far).

Thanks for putting this up Dan... voted for the middle few weeks as the closer it gets to my trip to WDW, the less likely I will make that drive out there. Not just for time contraints at home, but last year we had snow that time of year and I won't be so silly to think I'll drive out there through any snow again.

Pssstt Dan, don't you have a Vegas trip that first week of October? Just remembered that since my wedding anniversary is that first week of Oct.

I was hoping to do Cedar Point's Hallo-weekends in October, but truth be told, I haven't made it to Chicago for a DISmeet this year, and I would like that situation to change. I'll have to check with the master calendar to see what weekends aren't already booked. I'll be at WDW on October 4th, so that weekend is out for me for sure.

Congrats Nancy!!!!! How exciting.....

I chose all but one weekend that I think is a definite but not fully knowing dd's soccer schedule yet, and yes they have started playing already - don't ask, I have no clue what weekends will NOT fully work. I do know however, if it is November 22 we will have to leave at around 6pm because we have tickets to see ALABAMA!!!!!! Their final show ever......and I am NOT gonna miss it - sorry Trish!!!!

Of course if my dates don't work out with yours - I'm still waiting to see what weekends I have to work at the Habitat build - I will just make my own plans with Trish before she leaves!!!!

Hi, guys...November 22 will not work out for us, either. (that's the Sat before T-giving, right?). I know there is some kind of family day at my son's college the last weekend or so in October, so I'm voting for one of the first couple of weekends in October. Hopefully, the weather would hold out for any DIS-ers who would need to be traveling then, too!

I now can't do Nov 1 and 15 (but my family probably can). The 8th would have to be afternoon because I have Market Day.

Oops, just posted to the other thread as I hadn't seen this one. Here's what I posted on that one:

I don't want you guys to think I'm ignorinig you...I just haven't found out yet when I'll be going to see Jim. When I talked to him last week, he said that he saw the packets when we was in the office working on their computers for them. So as of last Wed., they still hadn't been mailed out. As soon as I find out, I'll post.

I know October 4 weekend is out (trip home). And while we should be here November 22, I don't know for sure as it'll depend on Jim's orders (which we won't get until mid-October at the earliest). We could very well have been moved by then (or be in the process of moving). He graduates from AIT November 14 so I'll be gone that weekend. I did ask if he had an idea as to which weekend the October trip will be and he said he would guess the 18th but I just plain 'ol don't know. November 8 SHOULD be good but again, I just don't know.

And, yes, I am QUITE frustrated that I don't know!!! While I don't have to have every detail of my life planned out, a general idea of WHERE I might be living in November and WHEN I will find that out sure would be nice to know!!! Ugh, sorry about that little vent. Its been one of those weeks!!

So I guess that means that I really have no idea!

We can do either the 25th or Nov 8th...11th down at parents weekend.

Me too, but there are some days that are not blacked out. I know Nov 2 is available to request off. I already requested it since it is my birthday.
