What a beautiful day it was yesterday :sunny:
I decided to stay home, and enjoy the beautiful day, and I'm glad I did ::yes::
In the morning to early afternoon I finished cleaning the house (I do a big cleaning at the beginning of every month, then do small cleaning the rest of the month), and then we went outside. The girls were in the pool for over 4 hours, and I just relaxed outside of the pool. I got pretty sunburned because I didn't use any sunscreen yesterday, but that's okay, it felt so good to just lay in the sun. It was a very relaxing afternoon!!!! :goodvibes

HERSEY - Whenever I take Katie with me shopping, I always stay safe because she has no tolerance for shopping:sad2: Then if I get aggravated, I don't feel like shopping anymore. Now when it was just Stephanie and I, when she was little, and before Katie born, that's when it wasn't safe for me to go shopping. We would shop all day, and every clearance rack, this time of year, got looked at by me. I keep telling myself that Katie's non-tolerance for shopping is a good thing, because then I save money ;)

Bunchkin - I read your post and went  I am so sorry to hear about you still being sick, and now Lauren being sick. Sending a ton of PD your way to help you two feel better and so that Hunter doesn't get sick:wizard: :wizard: Poor Lauren being hurt too - poor thing!!!! Was it around this time last year when she fell off her bike and skinned her knee really bad?? At least nothing is broken - thank goodness!!!! Sending more PD her way :wizard: I"m sorry to hear about your rotator cup too :guilty: If it doesn't get any better, you may want to see a doctor to see if got torn (I pray that it didn't). Sending more PD your way too :wizard: :wizard:
**Good luck with starting to pack - I love packing!!! It stresses me out, but I love to do it :)

piglet too - I spend way to much money whenever we go to that mall - I do love it there!!! :goodvibes

geffric - When you say Lansing, do you mean Lansing right next to Indiana??? If so, you were very close to me :)

Mac - Thanks for the listings!!!! :)

Well, I guess I should get going and get ready for my day
Have a good day today everyone!!!

slo Thanks for the well wishes!! :) Lauren's leg is doing much better. It's just showing bruises from her knee to her ankle and at least the pain is gone. But her cold is just kicking her butt! She was up a lot during the night blowing her nose because she's so stuffy. And I had to remind her that she's already taking days off this month for vacation so she can't go to the nurse to be sent home!!! She loves the nurse. :sad2: So she got filled with meds and sent to school with extra tissues and Purell hand sanitizer!!! :)
My shoulder is feeling some what better, thank goodness. It was really hurting bad for a while there.
Thanks for the concern!!! It always seems to be something before we leave for a trip!!

Glad you got some pool time in before it really cools off!! :)
Did Kevin go to the race in Joliet yesterday? I heard that Dario Franchitti won and they said next year he's heading to Nascar!!!! I had to clue!! I think his wife is just beautiful!!

For those of you who don't know, Dario Franchitti's wife is Ashley Judd!!
Here's their photo after his win yesterday.

Hi everyone!

Amy, and you too Michelle -- I hope you can be as comfortable as possible, and I can't wait to see pictures!

And unfortunately she caught the cold I have!!! UGH!!! It's all sinus related/stuffy head and nose. I'm really worried about us flying now and how we're going to be able to handle the cabin pressure. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Hunter won't get sick!!!! :sad2:
I've been sick for 2 weeks now!!!!!
It's all DH's fault, he's the one who was sick first!!!! :headache:

It's good to have someone to blame. ;) I just talked to my friend's husband, and I'm glad I haven't seen them in a while. They all have the stomach flu. :scared:

Anyway, I hope all of your family feels better!

Hunter keeps asking if we can pack. And I tell him the same thing "What will you wear to school if I pack up all your shorts?". And his reply this morning was "Leaves!!!". :rotfl2: So now I've been calling him Tarzan all morning!! Leaves indeed!!! :) :rotfl:

Funny! :rotfl:

I got my DME tags today! :yay: And I looked at the menu for the F&W Fest., and I might actually try escargot! I'm so picky, I can't believe I'm even thinking of it. (And I think I'm trying to tell everyone so that I feel pressure to not chicken out. :rotfl2: )

Did you guys know they have Mickey burgers? I saw them at Jewel this weekend. Mickey thinks of literally everything! But do the ears stick out of the buns? It seems like you need Mickey buns, too. :confused3 :rotfl:

Did anyone else watch Falcon Crest? Jane Wyman died. :(

Later guys! :goodvibes

I might actually try escargot! I'm so picky, I can't believe I'm even thinking of it.

Not an escargot fan. I'll eat it, but it's nothing special to me. I think it tastes a lot like conch. I think the only reason that most people like it is because it's generally mostly garlic butter. The same as I believe most people like conch fritters for the fritter, not for the conch.

Yes, it's supposed to have garlic, which is why I thought I might be able to do it.

I figure it's a good time to try it, since it'll only be like $5 and I'll get a small portion, so if I only take one bite and hate it, it's not like I'm wasting an expensive meal.

I want to try a lot of things, because the last time I ate a big meal and only ended up trying one thing. However, I also would like to eat at Mexico and Germany (never tried the Biergarten), so I'll have to make up a plan. F&W Fest. should really win out, since it's only at a certain time of the year and I've already eaten at Mexico. I just love their nachos, though! :rolleyes1

Ok, is anyone else hungry? :lmao:

Hi, all...

Mark's sister got the results of the path report & the cancer is in one of the lymph nodes that were removed, so now she has to go in for another surgery to remove lymph nodes on the other side, and see if the cancer has gone into any other lymph nodes...and she is going to have to have radiation treatment. She has a good attitude, but I would really appreciate continued thoughts and prayers. Thanks so much!

Mark & I went up to Lake Geneva for a day trip on Saturday...it was so beautiful by the lake, and we took a nice, relaxing boat ride...Sunday we visited with his sister and his mom (who is here from Louisville to be with his sister for awhile).

Bunchkin...hope you are all feeling waaaayyy better before your trip!

SamIAM...are things calming down any by you? I really do feel for you and your family...

Sk8leigh...good to see you here...how is the new house coming along??

Slo..yesterday (well, the whole weekend), was gorgeous! Who turned off the heat today, though? I wish we were just going into summer instead of ending it...I do love the fall colors & some of the cooler temps...I just wish winter didn't come next!!

Mac...thanks for the tv listings...how are your sons doing?

Hersey...you always make me laugh with the things you post!

Geffric...your post made me think of that saying "if a woman's place is in the home, then why am I always in the car?"

Bigben..isn't today the finale of Fat March?

A shout out to all of Chicagoland...have a good day!

Hey everyone! Just found this thread and had to pop on in! I'm about an hour NW of Chicago in Crystal Lake area.

Haven't read much of this thousand plus page thread, but I'll catch up slowly! LOL. Noticed everyone talking about their weekends, I took advantage of the weather and took my MIL to Brookfield zoo for her b-day present. She had wanted me to taker her out and about to show her tricks with her new Nikon digital cam. So we enjoyed some good quality time out with some cool creatures. LOVED the butterfly exhibit, but still nothing tops the one I saw in Toronto by Niagra Falls... the place was huge and amazing. Fiancee had a butterfly land on him though and hopefully give some good butterfly mojo to help his cold. Somehow (yes it's only September) I already have a terrible cold and have passed it off to him... suck... mine's almost over though, his is JUST starting (fun zoo day for him! LOL).

Other than that, a little about myself. I'm a director of film - mostly music videos and documentaries, but am weeding myself into features as well. Do tons of event work hired out. I love it, hopefully some day I can do a Dis film! ;) Been with my fiancee for over 10 years, and this coming October will be our first vacation EVER together that wasn't just a weekend trip to the next state over (i.e. - WI, OH, IN, etc.). :lmao: We'll be doing 6 days/ 5 nights at ASMU - with a quick day trip over to Universal since neither of us have been there ever in our lives. He hasn't been to Dis since '85, and me since I think '93... so lots of new stuff since our last trips. SOOOO excited! Just under two months to go! And we should be getting out travel packets fairly soon here as well!! :cheer2:

Donna you are correct.

This is a reminder that tonight is the finale of Fat March. This is the last time you get to see ME on TV(well maybe, I hope not). More drama and the final weigh-in. Boston to Washington D.C. 575 miles(but I walked about 45 more than that) and I felt every step. Thank you for all your support.

March On

Michael

Somehow (yes it's only September) I already have a terrible cold and have passed it off to him... suck... mine's almost over though, his is JUST starting (fun zoo day for him! LOL).

:welcome: Just jump right in -- I can't keep up with the thread as it is now on occassion much less attempting to start from square 1.

I know you are new but I'm going to blame you anyway!! ;) My 10 year old has recently come down with a cold, so not fun. Started yesterday and he's all stuffed up. Fun, fun, fun....it's going to be a LONG winter if colds are starting now.

Let's see this weekend -- didn't do much of anything -- of course, now my schedule is about to change as it's let's see how many kid activities we can cram into 1 day/week starts.

Today as soon as DD gets home from school, it's change run out the door to gymnastics at 5:30; then DS-7 has Cub Scouts from 6-7; then back to pick up DD at 8:30. On top of my 3 year old having his speech class today and it was DEFINITELY Monday-- I had to return home 2x today before the kids got all settled. I forgot to give the 10 year old cold medicine, so drop older one off at bus stop, back home for cold medicine as he had his French Horn lesson today and I figured being stuffed up for that wasn't good; then get to school -- "Where is your backpack?" to the 7 year old? -- drop them off at school run back home get backpack, go to office to ask about something I had to ask anyway -- take little guy to speech -- managed to get a little lost with that one too as they just built on the preschool to the middle school & I couldn't figure out where the new entrance was because I didn't quite get the directions I was given -- I don't even think a GPS would have helped with this one once I figured it all out. It wasn't TOO bad though since I do know where the middle school is, I was close just a bit :confused3 . Then managed to get home.

Of course, now tonight due to the 8:30 -- I'm going to end up missing some of Fat March...bah humbug -- *maybe* I can con DH in to going to pick her up instead of me. :lmao:

Donna I hope everything turns out all right for Mark's sister!!! I'll keep good thoughts for her that the cancer didn't spread.

Leigh Don't you love it when the DME tags come in the mail??!!! :rotfl:
Makes everything seem so official!! :thumbsup2
I for one would stay FAR away from the escargot!!!! :scared: BLECHKT!! :scared:

Ben Thanks for the reminder!!! I'm so bad at remembering when things are on tv! :)
Congrats on all the miles you walked!! :cheer2:

Good afternoon everyone. Busy weekend and upcoming week for us here.
First, Welcome to the newbies. Come visit often.
Glad to hear everyone had an enjoyable weekend.
Saturday was our Park District's 50th celebration. They had lots of inflatables for the kids to jump in, a water balloon toss game, bags (bean), and other little games for the kids. They also had all the big trucks and tractors parked in the lot for the kids to explore and climb on. Kyle was loving it. Kellie and her group of girls performed their ballet stuff for the crowd. It was a beautiful day and the weather couldn't have been better. The kids also had their first soccer game and won 2-0.
Then we went to Illiana Speedway for the races in the evening and the driver of the car my husband helps work on won the season championship for his division. So it was a great day!!
Worked all day yesterday. Glad you all got to enjoy it. Have seminars today and tomorrow at work, therapy on Wed. and Thurs., work Friday and therapy again on Sat. Can't wait for Sun for my day of rest.
DS name came to the top of the wait list for our Magnet school. I got the call Friday afternoon and had to decide by this am if we wanted to move him over there. What a tough decision. I really liked his teacher, but the program at the Magnet School was hard not to pick. We finally decided late last night to transfer him there. He starts there Wed. I have to shop for uniforms and some misc. school supplies again (if there are any left out there to be had.:rolleyes1 ) Of course, their lists are not exactly the same.
Oh, and I have our first PTO meeting tomorrow night that I need to get an agenda together for and get to school early to set up.:faint:
I think I'd better go to bed now :lmao:
bigben, can't wait for the finale to start tonight. Once it's over, can you dish on it with us?
Bunchkin, sure hope you are all better there really soon!!!:wizard: I see you are at the 10 day mark. Started your countdown calendar yet? I would be bouncing off the walls. Wish I were going along. Is Tony going to be able to make it for the entire trip? I know you've said he is really busy right now.
Leigh, are you packed up and ready to go as well? Hersey? Mac? Slo? I bet you are all getting anxious. PLEASE, SOMEONE TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!:rotfl:
Well, I'd better run. Obviously, I have way to much to do here without doing :surfweb: all night.

tiggerrrnnnnn, sure, i'll take you with me.
pack your bag, we leave in 14 sleeps.......

if anyone is going and have dates that corelate with mine, i would love to meet up with you even for a quick hi and bye.
i'll be seeing hersey at the mnsshp on the 30th.

Tiggerrn Well you're not going to believe this but Tony just told me tonight that 2 of the houses he is working on is now in a rush to close......this is exactly what happened last year!!!! UGH!!!!  I'm hoping he will finish before we need to go because one of us will have to prepare for the closing on both houses.

So pack a bag I may be calling you to fill in....since you volunteered!! :rotfl:
