Thank you so much Rose for this website - it brings back some wonderful wonderful memories:goodvibes :goodvibes . Especially memories of many trips there with my one friend who is now passed away. I would go with her family and when we got there, my friend, her 2 sisters and I would go our way, and her parents would go their way. We would meet her parents for lunch, dinner, and when it was time to go home - we had such
a blast!!!!!

Our most favorite ride to go on was The Tidal Wave

tidalwave.jpg

There was never much of a line for this ride, and we would ride it over, and over, and over again. We would laugh so hard while we were on it our stomachs would hurt. :teeth:

Thanks for bringing a smile on my face tonight - I sorta needed it!!!

Now I must go back and try to catch up on what else is going on.
Later gaters!!

I remember the Tidal Wave! That's when I was a coaster wussie. I used to be terrified of coasters - now I love them!! See, people can change! (though I still won't eat peas or brussel sprouts - no way :sad2: :rotfl: )

yea, but can you imagine how long my posts would be then......

Your posts aren't that long!!
Especially the ones were you short hand your replies!!! :rotfl:

HERSEY said:
Bunchkin I think I know why you little feet hurt. Do you ever just sit and rest?

No I don't sit! I'm standing as I type!! ;) :lmao:
Too much to do every day. Busy kids, busy business, busy life. It would be a little easier if I wasn't going away next week!! :thumbsup2

(though I still won't eat peas or brussel sprouts - no way :sad2: :rotfl: )

You're still a wuss!!! Be brave...eat the green stuff!! :rotfl:

Rose, thanks -that was a great blast from the past. I used to love going to Great America. Of course, when I was a kid, doing something like this was a real treat!! I remember going with the band in 1980 and we got in trouble because we were late returning to the bus to leave. A group of us were in line to ride the American Eagle and we were so close to getting on that we were not about to give up and go back to the bus until we rode.:rotfl: It was worth every minute of the hollering we endured.
It's just not the same now. Seems run down. Needs a good paint job all over. Kids still like it though.

Stephanie's dentist appointment went well yesterday - no cavities!!!!:woohoo: (I was nervous, and so was she) But she had lost a couple of teeth about a month ago that were suppossed to be lost when she was more around 12 (according to the dentist) and the new teeth are having a hard time finding where to go. He said in 6 months he will know better, but more than likely we will be seeing an orthodontist before X-Mas:guilty: A 9 year old is not going to like that at all :sad2:

That's great that you can make it to the movie on Saturday!
Does the 1:40pm show work for you?
This show is perfect for me!!!!:thumbsup2
I'm looking forward to it :cool1:

Just to make sure, the movie is at 1:45 right at the Kerasotes 12 in Schererville. I know it's only 5 minutes, but I want to make sure I have the right show! I bought my tickets on line through Fandango cause there's no way I'm going to miss this one!! I even have the print out that lists it as Auditorium 10. Woohoo!
This is a good idea - I will do this too!! ::yes::
I never bought anything from Fandango - all I know about them are those paper lunch bag dancing around:dance3:

first thing i really did today when i woke up was to call and make my adr's for the motherland trip for sept/oct. doing a long one, then later a short trip.
Congrats on making your ADR's - how fun!!!!:yay: :woohoo:
Are you doing the Halloween party again?

To everyone else - Hi there!!! :wave2:

Well, I better go get ready for work. Its my 1 out of 5 days left (I quit my job yesterday - it was very very hard to do, but something I had to do)
Have a good day today everyone!!

Yeah that is about the same time that Eric got his braces on and space savers before that

Well you have been talking about quitting for a while now. I believe that is why you went and got the real estate license. Good Luck. I am sure that you can make a go of the RE thing and make so much more money and be happier.

The quarter is winding down .. but still lots of pressure..

Eric is going paint balling Saturday in Crete.. but i have Geoff and since his b'day is Sunday.. yes he is going to be 16.. unbelievable.16 already... :confused3 where did the time go??

Gotta go back to work.. everyone have a nice day..

Hi all-
Slo, Tiggerrn, and Jedi- glad you all enjoyed going down memory lane with me- the way Great America used to be :thumbsup2
I had some fond memories of the older days, too!
I remember seeing the double decker carousel being partially built from I 94 back in 1975! My parents and I were driving around (not sure why) and we happen to see the carousel partially built from a distance at the time. I was only 9yrs old at hte time. We lived in Skokie, Il. at the time, so it wasn't too unusual for my parents to drive north to Lincolnshire, Libertyville, etc once in awhile.
And I do remember riding Turn of the Century coaster the first yr I went to GA. I remember riding those cable cars(Southern Cross), too! I do remember the Tidal Wave, but I think I only rode that once or twice at the most, I don't really like going upside down. I remember the Edge ride really well and of course hte American Eagle! I rode the Edge ride the same day those boys got hurt (from the ride malfunctioning). I don't think the boys were from my school. I was there on a high school graduation field trip May 1984.
I do remember the Whizzer used to be called Willard's Whizzer, that's the name I always remembered it.
The commercials on the media part of the website I do remember. And the radio commercials, too, the jingle they used :thumbsup2

Slo- hope everything goes well quitting your job at the picture frame place  Is the real estate selling picking up by you?
Glad to hear Steph doesn't have cavities!:cool1:

AI: Was a little sad Chris Sligh was voted off last night :sad2:
I liked him. I knew he probably wasn't going to last too much longer, but we all liked him here at home. Matthew really liked him since the top 24. I would call and vote for Chris S. for Matthew the past couple of weeks.
I just can't believe Sanjaya is still around :sad2:  :happytv:
I guess he has too many of the pre-teen, teen following/fan base

Hi to all!

Have a good day everyone!

rose, thanks for posting the link. i enjoyed it also like the rest of the gang here has.

slo quit her job.......well, if need be, you could always do the framing at home can't you? kind of like how beauticians also work out of their home besides the shop..............

geffric, are you keeping your eyes open for other jobs yet?

slo, all 4 of my boys had to do the orthodontist thing.
on todd, he was 6.5 years old when the expander was put in his mouth.
the doc said he needed to wear it for 4 years and it would help a lot before braces would go on.

it took us 11 years in payments to pay this doctor off.....

tiggern and bunchkin: your job today is to bring the sun back, think you can handle that? say yes ....

Hi Geffric and Mac and everyone :wave2:

Mac- glad you enjoyed going down memory lane, too!

Geffric- hope it gets better with your job
Happy early birthday to Geoff :cake: :bday: :rockband:

Yeah, we have to look for an orthodontist for Chrissy too
Her jaw structure is small and her teeth are starting to crowd a little.
I don't look forward to making any kind of ortho appt. either.
I had braces when I was 12. I do remember my ortho way back when, his office was in Niles, off of Milwaukee Ave. He was a good ortho, but he had some strange wallpaper on his wall. It was wallpaper with comic strips on them. Not the usual comic strips, but some totally different comic strips.
Something out of the 1970's.

Hi my friends,
Sorry I have been MIA but I have been doing a lot of running around. Thanks for missing me Rose! Also thanks for the link. I used to LOVE Great America. I LOVE roller coasters. The problem now is every year I get older my motion sickness gets worse!
Got some great stuff on clearance at the Disneystore and at Disneyshopping.com too with those stackable codes! So much for trying to budget. I better find a way to bring some money IN this house!
Everyone is still coughing but obviously better!
It is still a little too cold for my liking and I would like the sun back! Oh well, what are ya gonna do????
Slo..Sounds like you are busy as always. Glad there were no cavities. Did you quit the clock store? I think I missed something.
Kim Hi! How’s your Spring break going?? We are enjoying it so far.
Tiggerrn2…the puppy is TOO cute!!!!!!
Hersey!:wave2: STILL haven’t packed up my junk! Sometimes I throw away an old box or magazine and I am hive fiving myself like it's the most monumental move. What a joke!
Bunchkin..you are practically on that plane!!!
Becky...did I tell you we got our tickets??? Very exciting even though it is SO……far away! I can’t wait for the release of HSM II !!
Macraven…hope you are all better. Probably not how you wanted to spend Spring break! Hey, I ate at Culvers Tuesday night and thought of you! Went with the chicken tenders as usual.
If the free dining moves into October I would be VERY interseted in that and might have to give up the idea of November.
Hi...SamIAm,geffric,Jedi,mvazul(glad you had a nice birthday), paintnolish. Leigh.,tarheelmjfan ..........
Hi everyone else!
The movie sounds great but you guys are FAR from me! The bowling meet sounds great too but it's not going to work out for us. I am looking forward to meeting more of you one day though!
Maybe I will drop off the computer.:scared1: I still have NO sound but just hate the thought of not checking in. I usually can find the time to read but not always answer. I wish I was good typer but I am NOT!

Hope I didn't miss anyone! Have a great day!

Hello Chicago! I hope everyone is doing okay and had a chance to enjoy the great weather we had over the weekend. We went to Dubuque to visit Christopher for his birthday, and had a scary :sad1: drive on Saturday in the fog, but a good visit with him and Sunday was just gorgeous.

To quote the famous MAC:

"happy belated birthday, no, it was happy birthday i was on time, cute little puppy, tigs is a cutey, yes siblings fight and they still do even when they turn 35, nice new furniture, sorry to the sickies, yea to the trippers, hersey used to be a chocolate bar now its a park, fun for a dis meet, movies are kewl, schedules listed, info on the motherland always a good thing, disney plays, disney shows, free dining, sore feet, coffee smells great, no extra bags, slo and the knees are duct taped"

I second the motion of what *she* said!!! And, yep, I also saw Sanjaya's hair on AI last night:scared1: ...you know, the kid really *can* sing...it's like he's not really trying:confused3 I honestly think he may just want to get off the show. He is certainly not the best singer, but if you really listen to him, he's not really that bad, either.

Hi to all, have a great day!

Hi to you too DonnaW!

Hi Slo....I was talking about moving around Huntley. We've been trying to find places that are somewhat close to Rolling Meadows but doesn't cost too much!:thumbsup2 we are also looking at Hampshire but it seems a little small for my tastes! Hopefully in the next few weeks we will be able to make a weekend trip out there to look at some models. Thank you for asking!
So, How did your play day go with the twins? We haven't gotten the Easter Bunny out here yet and my kids don't get out of school until the Friday before Easter. I have Boy/Girl twins who are going to be 14 in May and a 19 year old boy.
You have a great day! Helen

Hi to you too and I hope everything is going well. I live in Chicago so I am not familiar with the areas you are looking at at all. Sorry and good luck!

Sounds like I LIVE BY YOUR OLD ORTHODONTIST!

Debbie:

WHAT.... you went to the blue resturant and didn't get the turtle sundae???

what will power you have!

Morning all.
Geffric where is Eric paintballing at? It's a shame you aren't coming along. We could meet somewhere for lunch or something. Oh, that's movie day. I hope I don't have trouble getting tickets when we get there.
I did absolutely nothing yesterday.:rolleyes1
Today I really need to do :laundy: and try to get DS to sit still long enough to learn to tie his shoes. He will be 7 next month and has no interest in learning to tie. In fact, we just went shoe shopping and he purposely picks a pair he isn't really that fond of because they have velcro.
Having DD bday party here next Friday. Planning some craft, but no ideas past that. Any helpful ideas would be much appreciated.
Ok, need to get to work. This puppy is very distracting.
Sorry, much as I would like to make it happen, the sun doesn't seem to want to come out to play.
Slo, I know leaving people you like to work with can be hard. Glad to hear no cavities for Steph.

Seeing the sun here now!!!!:sunny:
It's not that bad outside either. Went out to get the mail. I think I'll take the kids to the park after DD ballet lesson.
Need to take both of them for haircuts, too.

Hi Everyone!

Hey, it seems like a lot of us are going to see Meet The Robinsons this weekend. If you do and you are Disney Visa (Chase) credit card holder, you can log onto

http://disneyrewards.disney.go.com/mtr/

after you see the movie and take the little survey/quiz. If you do this before 4/3/07, you can get a MTR Soundtrack CD for FREE (you know while supplies last yadda yadda yadda)! Sounds like a good deal to me!! FFFFFREEEEEEEE!!!
YEAH!

HI everyone!!! :wave2:

Super busy day for me again! Ready to drop dead!!! :faint:
I was out in Naperville most of the day, so of course I stopped at Fox Valley mall and shopped!!! :rotfl:

My younger sister had a baby girl yesterday. (Not sure if I mentioned she was pregnant!)
Her name is Isabelle and we are hopefully going to see her this weekend.
DH had to work late again yesterday so I couldn't go see her as they don't let kids on the maternity floor.
I bought lots of cute outfits for her including one that says Bella (Italian for beautiful) on it, I'm guessing that is what her nickname will be.

Hi to all!!!

Gotta run and get dinner started as I have a 2 hour meeting to get to later tonight!!!
I swear I'm gonna drop dead before I leave for vacation!!!! ;)

Also if we save our movie tickets, we can get 100 movie reward points for each ticket for anyone saving up movie reward points.
Had a great afternoon. Took the kids to the park and Tiggs. He is a pooped pup now!!!:rotfl: The sun came out beautifully and it was about 68 degrees. I hope all the fresh air helps puppy sleep tonight since I have to get up at 5am tomorrow for work.
Survivor night  Not sure if Grays will be a repeat tonight or not. TV Guide said it was new but the description is of last weeks show. Last week was supposed to be a repeat and wasn't:confused3
Ordered out pizza from Aurelios tonight. Too lazy to cook. All that fresh air wore me out, too.:lmao:
