:surfweb: Hi and Happy Sunday!
My DH and I had a date and went to see Wild Hogs:rotfl2:today. I laughed my butt off! I have to say though I am a big John Travolta and Tim Allen fan. I thought it was great and the critics gave it bad reviews! My DH jokes that the last movie he went to see was the Sixth Sense and I am getting sick of hearing that so we finally went. I saw the cast on Oprah so I did actually want to see it.

I keep meaning to tell you guys that I have watched the Disney Planning DVD like a thousand times. Not the newer one but the one with that silly guy. That's why DD loves it. She thinks that guy is hilarious! DD has it on again (not that I mind). BUNCHKIN isn't it great when you can get the kids to do the dirty work. DD begs her Daddy for a trip back and how can he say no to his princessprincess:.

Hope you guys are all doing good. Everybody sounds busy as always.
Rose I hope you're finally feeling better.
Jedi (Carmen) have a FANTASTIC trip. Be safe!

BTW...Why are we all doing laundry on a Sunday? I have a load in right now myself.

me, i'm saving my laundry for tomorrow. no school for casmir pulaski day.

don't forget.......next week at this time it will be day light savings time.
it starts 2 weeks early this year and extends 2 weeks later.

then 2009, the change will be complete

I just ordered a pizza for me and the girls, and Kevin is getting Chinese. I love Sundays when I don't have to cook :teeth:

Do you all remember how Stephanie and I were playing an on-going Monopoly game? Well, we finally ended it today. After playing it for another 1 1/2 hours, we decided it was time to quit (I brought it out Superbowl Sunday) After I counted all our assets, I won, but not by much. I had $5000 not including properties, and Steph had $3900 not including properties. I'm glad the game is over - I was tired of looking at it on my dining room table:rolleyes:

Bunchkin - How did you do at the mall today?

Jedi - Bye!! We'll miss you!!!!! :wave2:

mac - I didn't read your post about The Departed until this morning. But I knew the language would be bad (I love Goodfellas and Casino and the language in those is bad) so I automatically sent Steph upstairs:thumbsup2 But thanks for letting me know.

Tiggerrnnn - I bet those girls were chatty  I'm sure I will experience that someday.

geffric - Sounds like you had a busy day :faint: I hope you can relax tonight

Sam - Katie was actually worse today, but the Benedryl-D is working great :thumbsup2 I'm glad she doesn't have to go to daycare tomorrow so she can rest at home with my mother. Thanks for asking about her :goodvibes
**I'm an Aldi fan too ::yes::

Debbie - I'm glad you liked Wild Hogs. I really want to see that!!!!

Well, my pizza will be here soon
Later gaters!!!

slo, i knew you would win at monopoly.

you are the real estate woman that knows her properties...........

glad you had fun playing w/dd

isn't it swell not having to cook...:yay:

We had dinner at Chipotole's pretty good mexican. I just couldn't bring myself to cook dinner.

Ok I have to do :laundy: Too. How come they don't do pajama days any more?

Hey all. Watching a little TV then turning in early.
Slo, hope Katie feels better soon. :grouphug: Winter and all its' closed in germs have got to go!!!!!
The girls today were quite chatty. And listening to the Cheetah Girls and all giving each other names and going to be the BFF Girls!!! I had to try really hard to keep from laughing as they tried to come up with that name for their group.:rotfl: I can see these girls still friends years from now if we never moved. They've been together taking private dance lessons for about a year now and 4 went to WDW together last fall for the ballet trip. At least they are all good girls. And good families.
Hersey, every day is pajama day. Don't you see those kids at school? Unless they have to wear uniforms. Every day feels like pajama day for me too. One nice thing of working Labor and Delivery, SCRUBS !!! I wear sweats to work and put scrubs on when I get there. Comfy all day.
Well, I'm checking out.
Rose, hope you feel better soon as well.pixiedust:
:wave2:
Hey, the smilies have moved around again. All the good ones are on this same page.::yes::
Jedi,:beach: happy trip!!!!

Jedi - Have a great trip!!! Say hello to Mickey for us! And have a Monte Cristo at the Blue Bayou!

Funny you guys saying how great my evening sounds on Friday, when it was because I was working late and then working on Saturday. :rotfl2: But yes, the Wildfire was excellent. I just finished it tonight. Loved it! I'll have to go to the one at Oakbrook. And then I did stay at the Palmer House. It was fine. Tiny room, but the bathroom was better than I remembered, and the bed is comfy. :goodvibes And it's neat because the hotel is so historic. They're remodeling.

On Saturday, my boss (his boss is the one who made us work) told me to leave about 1pm, but I was busy and stayed until about 2pm. Then I was getting tired of working, so I decided to catch the 2:30pm train. But I had decided to take my Disneyland poster home. Someone had given it to me at work. I don't even know who this had originally belonged to, but this guy brought it over and leaned it against the wall at my cube a while ago. Well I just changed cubes and no longer have a wall, and the guy isn't there any more, so I decided I might as well bring it home for my display room. So I lugged this thing a couple of blocks. It was so heavy! I'm sore today! (It's framed.) It really slowed me down, and when I got to the train the doors were closed and it was about to leave. So I had to sit at the station and wait an hour for the next train! But lucky I did get it home in fairly good shape. The frame has a chip, but it might have already been there. I'll color it in with marker.

Today I've been cleaning stuff out again. I've gotten rid of quite a bit. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow I absolutely have to look into a security system. I need to get moving!

Grrrrrr..I have to get up in 5 hours and I can't sleep!! :sad1:

I'm kinda super anxious and feeling nervous about the trip

Jedi Have a great trip :goodvibes ::yes::

Did anyone hear the weather for this week? If I heard right we are in for some warm weather later this week.:cool1:

Sk8Leigh At least your job feeds you all pretty well. Small compensation for making you work.

Happy Monday!

jedi_librarian- Have a great trip!

It's been such a tough week. I had to work downtown all week. I use to love going downtown but now that I have to work down there. I am not liking it.
I was ok most of the week except for Friday I got a parking ticket in Naperville. Oh well I knew they were going to get me sooner or later.

My aunt had open heart surgery on Tuesday and for a while it was touch and go. Thursday they finally stop the bleeding and closed her up. I saw her on Wednesday and Friday and what a huge difference. Last I heard she was sitting up yesterday, awake and starting to talk. I am so happy. I am going to try and see her on my lunch break today at work.

We are at 16 days until we are home again. It's driving us nuts. We can't even go into the Disney store with out going crazy. I have had to buy new clothes for DD she has grown so much since last summer.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Have a great day.

Boy oh boy, I don't like Mondays:sad2:
Stephanie is always a crab when I get her up for school :teacher:
And I don't feel like going to work :sad2:

macraven - Thanks!!!! :goodvibes Maybe I'll be able to show some actual clients that someday:rolleyes:

HERSEY - I'm glad you had some good mexican. We have one of those restaurants around here - we should try it :)

Tiggerrnnnn - Thanks for the hugs for Katie :) She seemed to start feeling a little better before bed, and she slept better last night - so hopefully she'll be better today (fingers crossed)

Leigh -I'm glad you enjoyed your Wildfire dinner and your stay at The Palmer House :goodvibes
**We have a security system on our house, and we really like it ::yes:: It gives me such peace of mind when going to bed at night.

Jedi - Bye Carmen!!!! :wave2:
I hope you were able to get some sleep last night.
Have a good trip!!!!

America's Thrillmakers: Walt Disney World
This fascinating study of the rides at Florida's Walt Disney World
focuses not on the mechanics involved, but rather on the thought and
imagination behind the attractions and participants' reactions to them.
Designers talk about how they dream up the state-of-the- art rides, and
testers take a spin---as do cameras, for a vicarious thrill. Also examined
is the setup preceding each one that's meant to subliminally prep patrons as
they wait in line. Rides include the Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller
Coaster, Test Track, Splash Mountain, Dinosaur and Mission: Space.

On the Road With 16 Children (Disneyland)
Jim and Michelle Duggar of Arkansas gained fame when Discovery Networks
profiled them with 14 children a few
years ago. How do they have so many children, afford it, and make it all
work? The level of public interest in this family stays high, so the network
keeps following them as their family grows - they move into a new large
house, and this time they go on vacation as a family of two adults and 16
children. They go in a modified recreational vehicle from Arkansas to the
West Coast.

Within the last 15-minutes you see a segment where they visit Disneyland and
stay at one of the Disney hotels for their first ever stay in any hotel
anywhere. It's a short segment, but it's a solid Disney few minutes that any
Disney fan will enjoy and it's very entertaining. Thanks to Carol Koster of
Disney Echo for this one.

Good morning Chicago peeps!! :wave2:

Yesterday was a big shopping day at the mall!

First we all went to Chipotle for lunch!!! After lunch, DH headed to my mom's to work on her bathroom he's redoing for her. And then the kids and I went to the mall.
We started out at JC Penney's- found lots of good sales there, lots of summer stuff for vacation.
Next was a stop at Gymboree- I had a coupon for there. We did find a few of the items we bought on the sale rack (stuff for next fall). And I bought pj's for Lauren, they have the best pj's there.
Then we went to the Disney Store, of course!! We didn't buy that much from there since we will be at DL in a month!! Lauren got a cute Minnie dress and Hunter got a Mater Radiator Springs shirt he really wanted.
Then we went to Build A Bear -another coupon!!!! Lauren got the new Lamb and an outfit, and Hunter got the St Pats Shamrock bear and an outfit.
BAB was PACKED!!! I have never been there when it was such a mad house!!
Then a stop at Bath and Body Works- I had a coupon for there too, so Lauren picked up some more American Girl bath products. And I got a little something too. ;)

I had went through all the kids clothes to see what still fit them from last summer. So now I have a few big piles of clothes to either take to Once Upon a Child or garage sale them.
Lots of Gymboree, Old Navy, Disney etc. Lauren was really upset to not be able to fit into a few cute Disney dresses she had.

No school for us today!

Sam I'm glad that Megan wasn't scared of the rat!! :thumbsup2
So how is the meat from Aldi? I have not gotten up the courage to buy any meat from there!!

slo Lauren never likes Monday mornings either!! Have a good day at work!

geffric That's great that you're so organized and can cook ahead of time for the week!! :worship:

Debbie I actually DIDN'T ask, push, or even indicate to Hunter to try and talk DH into a summer trip!!! :rotfl: These kids have a mind of their own, like to travel and know where they want to go!! :rotfl:
And it's not a Disney trip either!! :faint: Even though my DH really enjoys WDW/DL, his favorite place is Ridgedale, MO which is 45 min south of Branson.
Here is where we like to stay:Big Cedar Resort. The only problem is figuring out when to go!!! :upsidedow

Leigh For having to work a Saturday, you sure did make out like a bandit. Yummy food AND a hotel stay!!!
Good luck in finding a good security system!! ::cop: :thumbsup2

Disneynut I'm sorry to hear about your aunt's heart problems. I hope she will be well soon. :flower3:
Have you started packing yet?? :yay:

Hersey So what did you guys get at Chipotle??? I got a steak bowl (I love the bowls!!!) and Tony got steak tacos, and chips and salsa of course!!
The kids don't care for Mexican yet, so Tony made a stop at McD's and got them Happy Meals. There were 2 other families there who did the same thing and brought McD's for the kids!! :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Tiggerrn More power to you for driving 5 little girls around!!! I have 8 girls in my troop, so I know how they can get!!1 :thumbsup2

jedi I'm sure you're gone by now!! But just in case you check in...Have a great trip!!! Eat lots of yummy food for us!!
And yes, we love Harold and Kumar. I can't wait for the next H & K to come out, it's a continuation of Harold going after the neighbor girl he kissed...I think she was off to Austria.
I saw the Kumar actor in an episode of Law and Order SVU the other night and he was the bad guy!!! :crazy2: I couldn't believe it!!! :rotfl:

Bunchkin:

I have to get Megan some new summer clothes too. Those jeans she's wearing today are some of the pants you gave her in the early winter. As you can see, they are getting a wee bit short already. She's really sprouting. I saw some cute stuff at Old Navy and Kohls. I bet she's close to a size 7 these days.

Aldi meat is okay... the hamburger is really good and I like how they package their stuff. Nothing leaks!! The best thing they have are these big slabs of pork ribs. They are sort of in a heavy shrink wrap plastic and those things are great. Very tender. The pork chops are good, but you need to be careful with them as they are often thin. On occassion, I'll pick up a steak or two, but they don't usually have really nice looking ones.

Hi all-
All of you that asked and wished me well, I'm feeling better today :thumbsup2My kids have school today which is fine by me.

Slo- hope miss Katie is feeling better pixiedust:

Disneynut- Hope your aunt is doing better pixiedust: . Open heart surgery is always scary.

jedi- hope your anxiety is down and your having a wonderful time at DL!

mac-thanks for the tv listings. Interested in the Duggar family DL show:faint: - tho I don't get Discovery health channel.

Hi to Geffric, Bunchkin, SamIAm, sk8Leigh, and anyyone else I missed :wave2:

I just kicked butt in a round of Disney Sorry!!! :cool1:

I am gamed out!!! 3 board games in a row is more than enough excitement for me in one day!! ;)

I saw some cute stuff at Old Navy and Kohls.

I got the Old Navy mailer and the clothes did look cute. We were going to go there yesterday, but the mall pooped us out!! ;)
So I told Lauren we would go this Saturday after seeing Saturday's s movie at Marcus. It's Happily N'Ever After, not my pick but Lauren really wants to see it. :rolleyes2

Sam Speaking of Megan needing new clothes......she was hot in her seater she wore....it's kind of warm up stairs, so she inherited an Old Navy shirt that was in one of the piles of clothes that don't fit Lauren anymore. She can keep it if she wants to. :thumbsup2
It's got the Old Navy dogs on it and they are surfing!! :)
