That area around the Enchanted Tiki Room and the Dole Whip stand is so sensory focused. In WDW, the Dole Whip stand sort of looks more modern island tropical, but in DL, it is very sort of rustic/tropical with the thatched grass huts and you can hear the drum music in the Tiki Room waiting area, not to mention the "show" with all the polynesian totem gods talking about themselves and explaining the areas they reign over.

As much as I love WDW, DL really just has so many more of those magical little areas. It's really a great spot where she's standing.

And I'm totally jealous about the Dole Whip!! I got about a month to go and then I'll be holding one of those babies in my hands too!.

DD is home sick today. Why is it that every time you have stuff you NEED to do (like put some food in the fridge), someone is home from school ill? I have to go to work this afternoon for a meeting so I am hoping my mother will be able to come for a bit.
Glad those other ill folks are feeling a bit better.
Leigh, I bet you are really getting excited. Seems not that long ago you were just talking about a new place, and here it is March and about time for you to move in.
Time is just flying by.
Hersey and Slo, glad you enjoyed the tilapia. I have got to get my Market Day order in for this month. Forgot about it last month. Now freezer is empty!!!
Well, guess I'll go do some and then take a shower since I'm stuck here for a bit.

I have an official announcement about MRIs

I LOVE THEM!!!!
(as really weird as this may sound)

This is now my second one, and they are so relaxing
I love laying there, listening to the machine, and drifting off into my own thoughts No one is talking to me - I'm just laying there - LOVE IT!!!!

So tomorrow I go to my normal doctor to get the results. Then next Wednesday I'm going to my Orthopedic to see what he has to say (my Orthopedic was my Grandmas doctor (her best friends son), so it's nice to go to someone that I know and trust) I'll let you all know the results after I get them. Keep your fingers crossed that it's nothing to serious - I don't know how much more this body can take

Thanks to all those that wished me well today - I appreciate it!!


Tiggerrnnn - I'm sorry to hear of your DD being sick today Do you think she has the same thing your son had? Sending lots of get well PD her way

Went out to Target today for some major shopping. Bought new swim trunks for DS and new swimsuit for DD. Bought a huge Rand McNally road atlas.

Jedi- I have never tried a Dole Whip before. Looks real good! yummy!

Back from the mall!
Didn't buy anything today!! Well, except for a cookie for Frodo!! Just returned that cell phone holder DH didn't like and got him a new one.

But....I decided to save myself from the headache of shopping on the weekend again, so I went to Old Navy and bought capris, skorts, a dress, and tops for Lauren and a short and shirt for Hunter. Good prices here. Although the boys section is totally lacking, hence him only getting 2 items!!


slo I'm glad all went well today. And I'm glad you got to relax! I can totally understand what you mean though. I had a c-scan in Oct and just lying there in the silence is peacful!

Jedi -- love the picture!

Remind me *why did I videotape DD's play?* I am now being tortured by her watching it constantly.

They did Aladdin, Jr. but the Genie was more like an I Dream of Jeannie type. I'm not even sure the kids get this because when she did her wishes she did the fold hands and nod.

Of course, they also had the "The Artist formaly known as Prince" as one of the 3 princes (think dating game -- they introduce 3 prince's to Jasmine) and they head off stage. I did ask if she understood what about the "artist as prince" thing she said the teacher explained it to them because they didn't get it.

They all did really good.

We had to go out to eat tonight all of my area lost electricity all afternoon until between 6 and 6:20 when we got back home. Now we are going to be scrambling to get ready for our meeting tomorrow.

Hi, everyone! I'm glad you liked my pic! I'll post some more, but first, I wanted to give you a quick report....

Oh, but first - I hear it's snowing in Chicago?? Hmmm. Today it was warm and sunny in California and WARM!

slo - I'm glad your MRI went well! I've never had one and I think I'd probably freak

Yesterday, when I arrived, I was in the parks less than an hour after I landed at Orange County airport! I headed to California Adventures to go RIGHT onto California Screamin - and it was so cool because it temporarily has Red Hot Chili Peppers music set to it. It was pretty cool! I ended up riding it 3 times...

After spending several hours there I headed on to DL and went on the essentials - Space Mountain - which ALSO has Red Hot Chili Peppers music set to it - and THAT was cool!!! I loved it! I also went on Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion and reluctantly, POTC. I didn't want to get sad on it. But I rode it anyway

Today I went to Universal Studios and it was fun, but Orlando's is far better. But the park was so empty that I walked onto all the attractions. The Mummy was pretty good, but it ended to quickly! But since the park was so empty, each time you went on, you got to stay on and ride it twice, which made it better! I think my favorite was getting to take pics with so many characters - I'll post some of those soon, after I resize them.

Hi Donna!!! Ya know, I've been to WDW a 'few' times myself and, it wasn't until our family trip last year that I FINALLY SAT DOWN and shared a Dole Whip with my kids!!! Let's just say that in June, SHARING is NOT advised! Get one for each!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes about me getting my results today I'm a little nervous about what I'm going to hear (biting my nails). I'll let you know when I know.

Rose - I'm glad you had successful shopping at Target yesterday.

Bunchkin - I love that Old Navy by you. Before I had one close to me, that's where I did most of my Old Navy shopping. Now we have one close to me, but I still like yours better.

Becky - I had to chuckle about you watching the play alot - that happens to me after Stephanie's dance recital. The dance center has a videographer tape it, and we always buy it. Then she watches it over and over again.

Tiggerrnnn - How is your DD feeling today?

HERSEY - That's a bummer about your electricity being out. But it's a good reason to not have to cook

Jedi - Great pictures and great trip report - I'm loving it!!!!!! Your pictures make me want to go back to Universal Studios in Florida. I haven't been there since 1993 when it opened.

Kim - I agree about not sharing a Dole Whip on a hot day - they do melt fast. Now that they have self-serve Dole Whips in The Poly, we can all sit in air conditioning and eat one



Well, I gotta get Steph up for her reading program (she really hates going to these, but when she's there I think she enjoys it).

Jedi -- LOVE the pictures!!!! I'm so jealous


I need some help from all you public transportation experts.

During spring break DS-10 & I are heading off to the Field Museum for a mom & me day. We will be taking the train in, I know it goes to the Oglieve (sp???? - I can never spell it OR say it correctly) Transportation Center.

Anyway, if I'm reading the travel guide correctly I can take bus #14 and get off at 11th/Columbus. Then walk to the museum -- will I be able to see the Museum from there, so I know the correct direction to walk (I'm easily confused -- I don't care *how* many times DH tells me Chicago is a grid & it's impossible to get lost -- I CAN do it! ).

I think what confuses me is when I go to the Field Museum it only gives 2 bus numbers that serve the museum neither one are #14.

I just want to make sure I'm on the correct bus. DD & I had a horrid return trip bus ride from American Girl one year.

Otherwise, I could take a taxi but how much does that cost from the train station to the Field Museum? I couldn't even find a place that gives us a ball park figure. At least American Girl gave us a ball park figure.
