Hey Bunchkin!!!!

I thought of another date that I couldn't attend a meet
It's Saturday March 10th - Stephanie has a birthday party she's looking forward to attending. :)

Good morning all!!!

Where is the sun?? :confused3 I could sure use a little sunshine to get me through the day!!

I have a lot to do today! Especially this morning. And I hate it when unexpected things pop up to hinder me from doing what I have planned.
Like finding a ton of dried MUD on my floors downstairs this morning!!
Now who do you think wore his work boots into the house this morning to probably grab something he forgot on the kitchen counter!!! :headache: Why I oughta.....

I digress.................:hippie:

slo Have you and Stephanie looked at the Fairies web site on Disney. They have a cute feature of making your own fairie and a home for her too.
Lauren loved it! :cutie:

geffric To answer your QOTD:
Spring break starts April 6th Good Friday and the kids go back on April 18th!!! Nice, long break from school!! :cool1: We are heading to Las Vegas to see the grandparents for 5 days (Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, lots of In 'n' Out burgers!! ) and then drive to Disneyland for 5 more days. :yay:

Leigh It stinks that you have to work on the weekend. Who cares if there is a party??!!?? :confused3 I'd be mad too!

Becky Good luck at the doctor's today. Hopefully the drive won't be too bad this time.

Donna That's great that you were able to still see the King and I. Did you like it?

Good morning!:)

BUNCHKIN...I love your kick in the pants smilie!:rotfl2: Your trip to the west coast sounds very exciting. Where are you staying when you go to Disneyland? And for a bowling meet, the last weekend of March (our son's birthday) and Easter weekend are not good...I *think* anything else should be okay. And, oh, yeah, we LOVED the King and I. I have also enjoyed the movie, and the actors that played the King and Anna in the play were amazing.

HERSEY...Drury Lane is a gorgeous theater. It just feels so elegant and classy! We went to brunch there once, and really liked it, too.

GEFFRIC...My fingers are crossed for you! Sure hope it works out that you can take that vacation!

LEIGH...I like Blake on Idol, too. I don't understand the judges being so enthralled with Chris R., though. I could barely understand what he was singing! But that Sanjaya kid has to go! And, you know what...I like Simon, too!!! The show would be kind of boring without him! He also *generally* has some really good (constructive criticism) type comments. And, I hope something good happens for you and you *don't* have to work this Saturday.

MAC...who do you like on AI?? And did you do anything exciting with your day off?

ROSE..Hope your son is feeling better.

BECKY...what play is your DD in? And, I wish you all the best today.

DEBBIE...waiting for more great pictures!

AMY...Congratulations, again. Please tell your mom to stop by more often, too...we miss her..

SLO...you go, girl! I am impressed that you went into the land beyond the fridge to clean!

Hello to ALL of my Chicago friends...hope you all have a wonderful day today!!!:)

I'm glad you two enjoyed the play so much and Drury Lane. It is very nice there. I haven't been there in a couple of years. We went to see a Christmas play there through Girl Scouts.

We are staying at the HOJO while in Anaheim. Staying at an actual DL hotel would have been nice, but not with also making a trip to Vegas to see my in-laws. So sacrifices needed to be made!! :lmao: ;) I've actually heard that the HOJO is nice! So we are looking forward to going there!

I like the HOJO a lot. The pool area is cute, but the pool's not heated so beware. Someone mentioned down in the Disneyland section that the quiet pool is heated. So, that may be a good choice. My room was extremely clean and amazingly quiet given that it was the first door at the top of the stairs. We were in Building 4 facing the fountain, not the pool, but the pool was only a few short steps away. One thing I really liked about HoJo and I know this is weird, but they have light blue sheets, not white. I just thought it made it feel more like home. I don't know about y'all, but I don't use white sheets at home, but I do have light blue, light green, beige, etc.

It was a short walk to the parks, but it did seem sort of far to walk after a long day and we did use the tram twice to come back to HoJo. The restaurant across the street made it totally worth it! Mimi's Cafe! Great food, totally doable prices. Megan and I had dinner there one night for like $18.00. She couldn't decide between grilled cheese and mac n cheese, so they brought her a really nice sized sandwich and a nice side dish of mac n cheese. I had a crab cake dinner which was really a decent portion. I noticed on the bill, they didn't charge her for mac n cheese. The waiter said it was because she didn't have fries with her meal, he just substituted. As much as I would LOVE to stay at the Disneyland Hotel because of the grounds and pool, it's hard to pass up HoJo's great prices and I'd definitely miss Mimi's.

Bunchkin, hope your day is going a little better!! Husbands, can't live with them, can't kill them!! Whatcha gonna do??? :rolleyes1

Have you ever had something that rubbed you the wrong way, even though it's no big deal????

Today is Stephanie's gym day, and she had a 1/2 day. I asked her when she has gym and she said after lunch. So, I figured they would have no gym today and I let her wear her black leather shoes to school (I originally was going to let her go in a skirt, and then she decided not to).

So I open up her folder today, and there's this lengthy note about how she didn't come prepared for gym, and all the rules for how children are supposed to dress for gym, and all the explanations on why (the note was very stern with underlines and bold facing throughout). I thought to myself - Is this a joke????? The kid goes to school one day unprepared for gym, and this note comes home like she's been a repeat offender for the last month. It made me feel like a complete idiot as a parent, and I also have to sign this note and return in back to school, so the gym teacher knows that I know the rules - Whatever!!!!!!!

The gym teacher gave her phone number and her email, so I sent her this:

Mrs. XX

I wanted to let you know that it is not Stephanie's fault for not having the proper shoes today for gym. I thought she would not have gym today, since it was a 1/2 day - apparently I was incorrect.

This is the first time Stephanie has come to school, on gym day, unprepared, and I'm a little surprised about the note that came home. The note seems a little stern for someone that has only had this happen once, but I will sign it and have Stephanie return it back to school.

Thanks for your time in reading this note

I don't know if I was wrong or not to send this, but I did anyway, because I was very annoyed by the whole thing. The whole thing is so trivial, and I know that, but if just rubbed me the wrong way.

Okay....I feel better now for getting this out of my system. :teeth:

i like the 2 big guys on AI. one is sundance and i forget the other dudes name. he's the comedian with the real curly hair and tiny blonde wife

tonight is the girls.........some of them are great and few of them stink...

it's starting to get real nippy outside now.
a good night to stay in and watch tv.

slo I would have been annoyed too! And I think your email is fine. Sometimes teachers get a little hung up about these things.

And you know what they say: "Those that can, teach. And those that can't, teach gym."

1.gif

Slo Your email was very nice. Maybe you should write mine for Alex. This years teacher is nice but in the past I would get very nasty notes home about ridiculous stuff.

Who saw last nights show that was on after Idol? They were all talking about it today at work. I have to try to watch it though it will cut in on Lost.

I have to decide if someone else is cooking for me tonight or am I?

It's rain/snowing here I want it to stoppixiedust:

I was able to get into Shriner's today without *too* much difficulties. Had a bit of gridlock but Woo Hoo, we still got to the appointment with 10 minutes to spare.

The appointment was GREAT!!! Her back original curved was 40-42 degrees. Today in the brace it measures 21 degrees. THAT'S what a brace is supposed to do. The doctor was really happy & then tightened it some more on her. :lmao: With a "hey look...we have another inch or so we can tighten this". DD was NONE too happy about that but we were told it would more than likely happen. Basically we can keep doing the hours we are doing as it's working, we don't have to increase it & even the days off here & there aren't hurting anything.  We go back in 4 months now.

BECKY...what play is your DD in? And, I wish you all the best today.
They are doing Aladdin, Jr. in her Middle School. She has the part of the Magic Carpet. I just hope she doesn't pass out backstage! She was told her costume was really hot but yesterday was the first day she wore it, she was dying of heat. She is also a townsperson though in the beginning of the play before the Magic Carpet shows up.

Morning.. another gray day in Chicago. I am so ready for spring. When is your Spring Break? and what are you gonna do?

Our spring break is the last week of March. We don't really have anything planned too much. I am taking DS-10 into the city one of the days for his mom & me day for his 10th birthday (which was in Jan.). We take the train in & spend the day. So, that's our big plan.

Hi.. I am going out with the scout Mom's tonight..

For dinner tonight I made Market Days Homestyle Gravy and Beef Tips and it was very good. I put it in the crock pot and let it cook all afternoon, and then I served it with mashed potatoes - it was a huge hit!!!! Which is good, because I bought 2 of them ;)

I guess the teacher didn't get the email, because I got no response, but then again, she may not respond at all  Bunchkin, your comment about teachers was pretty funny :rotfl: You made me laugh twice today - you are full of alot of humor today :lmao:

Becky - I'm glad your DD's backbrace is helping her as it should - that's great news!!!! :woohoo: I'm sure she is really tired of it (I can just imagine how Stephanie would fight against it), but she will really thank you someday :goodvibes Sending lots of PD her way for that back brace to continue doing it's job :wizard: :wizard:

Well, I gotta run, the girls are bickering amoungst each other:headache:
Somedays they get along like peas & carrots, and somedays they get along like oil and water:rolleyes: Sisters!!!!!!
 :goodvibes (2 smilies for that one)

Have a good night everyone!!!
Later gaters!!

hersey, i watched AI last night.

in fact, i have not missed an episode even from the first season.

last night the dudes sang, tonight it is the dudettes singing.

post what your question is about AI and i will try to answer it.

last night the dudes had to dedicated the song to someone. they did about a one minute taped video of who was being dedicated and why.

simon made great jokes.
one dude said, "i want to say tonight is my dad's birthday".
which simon replied, like to say hb to my mum who has a bd in 6 months from now................lol........sarcasm at it's finest.

gotta scoot, AI will be on in 5 minutes.

Bunchkin, your comment about teachers was pretty funny :rotfl: You made me laugh twice today - you are full of alot of humor today :lmao:

I can't take all the credit for that line!! :rotfl:
It's from the movie 'School of Rock' with Jack Black!! VERY funny movie! I got it for Lauren for Christmas and she was thrilled!!!! :rotfl:

We've had the beef tips from Market Day before. I liked them. But DH does not care for mushrooms so he was not thrilled with the dish.

Have you ever had something that rubbed you the wrong way, even though it's no big deal????

Slo as a Mom and previously a teacher I would have been fuming mad if I got that note! I am not sure what my email would have sounded like.. not as nice as yours!

Bunchkin.....you better hope there aren't any gym teachers lurking here!:rotfl2: Just send them to Jack Black, right?
OT Weird thing. I had a dream with me and Jack Black last night. Super strange!

Hope everyone is well! I keep reading but run out of time to post!

Oh and I love LOST (even though it confuses the hell out of me:confused3 ) and I watch AI. I watch too much TV I think! I love reality TV and all those good ones on at 9PM. Now we are getting TIVO hooked up so that's going to make things worse!

Take care everyone!
Anyone else like bad reality TV like me???

Good evening everyone.
Slo, I would be hopping mad at receiving a note like that. Especially since it seems my children's teachers aren't on the ball either. Like, how long does it take to grade a test and let you know if your child is doing okay? By the time I get some of DDs work home, it is too late to help her if she isn't understanding because they have already moved on.
Nobody is perfect. A little reminder and perhaps a schedule for half days may be a nice way to go about it. And I thought your response was very appropriate. (and polite).
Hope everyone is staying warm. DD had ballet tonight so I had to go out and was it ever chilly (and damp). I am glad not to be going out during the day tomorrow.
DD found the Fairies website tonight and is having fun creating her own fairy. DS was playing the games at the Peter Pan DVD site. Anyone been there yet? We were trying to break the code from the puzzle board so he could play the other 5 games, but no luck.
Well, off to watch LOST. And that is exactly how I feel watching that show!!!:lmao:
