Oh Nicole....only you could whip out a bubble boy movie poster that quick!:rotfl2:

I think John Travolta would like to forgot about that movie. :lmao: Not his best stuff, it was pretty lame .

Speaking of living a bubble.........

Do you remember this movie?

:scared1:

No, I don't remember that one! Musta been before my time :rolleyes1

(I'll duck now, in case any of you want to throw something at me! :duck: )

:teeth:

So I see that everyone is in a really chipper mood today. Must be the sunshine!

Hey Bunchkin, those helicopters you see buzzing around are either (1) surveying the 355 extension or (2) they are the highline wire inspectors. They go past my house several times a year and we have the high tension power lines right behind my house. They up what 200-300 feet, well that's how low the helicopters are behind my house. Someone on the helicopter makes extra money by photographing the houses in the area from above and selling them. We have a picture of our house from above and it's pretty cool. They just came to our door one evening selling the pics, we couldn't refuse because it was so cool!

Tell Tony, sorry about the jury duty! That must STINK!

Debbie: Isn't it great to actually meet us fellow DIS'ers! We're all so wonderful!! :rotfl:

Well, I really haven't been up to much lately. Dan decided he wants us all to go on vacation this summer to Table Rock Lake in Missouri. It's no Disney World, but it will do I guess! If I force him to go to WDW, I guess I gotta go to Table Rock. We won't be doing Big Cedar though Bunchkin, so I'll get that video back to ya! It's a too pricey for a "fishing vacation" according to Dan, but I have located some other nice cabin resorts in the area. We are going the week of June 16 to the 23rd and we will be away for both Dan & Megan's birthdays which are 6/20 - Dan and 6/21 - Megan. So, that should actually be pretty fun.

I'm going to try to squeeze a few vacation days in late September for a WDW trip and see if I can swing a MNSSHP. I might actually overlap Hersey a little, so that could be fun -- maybe we could swing a lunch or dinner on one of those nights!

Talk more later y'all!!

:dance3:

Anyone ever use "Craigs list".

I am still trying to decide how to get rid of my stuff.

Hi all-
Not much going on around here. DH overslept this morning, about by a half hour :scared1: . But we both got the kids ready for school ok as usual ;)

Bunchkin- hope all goes well with Tony going to jury duty today. I think my DH would like to do jury duty again soon, just to get out of hte craziness at work right now :scared:

Hersey, Bunchy- I remember watching Boy in the Plastic Bubble a couple of times. Last time I saw it was a few yrs back on Lifetime channel I believe. Somehow, I thought it was a good movie, maybe b/c me dealing with Chrissy(her special needs) and all. May not have been John Travolta's best movie, but I thought it was a somewhat good movie.

Debbie- Disneymommymichelle uses or used Craigslist.

Hi to all :wave2:

I have a piece of interesting information.
**You can not return books due to copy right law**

I went to Lowes today to return a book that Kevin bought Katie for Christmas (I had already bought it - great minds think alike), and they wouldn't let me return it due to copyright law. She said that books can't be returned, because people could go home and copy them. I was really bummed out, but it wasn't her fault, so I just said "thanks" and walked away (she did go ask her manager to verify before allowing me to leave - she could tell I was bummed, even though I didn't say anything). I found this annoying, and interesting all at the same time.

Bunchkin - Eventually I will call FSBO's, but I'm not confident in what I'm doing yet to do that. After I get a couple of listings and then go through a couple of closings, then I'm going to start calling them:thumbsup2 When it comes to the office, I could do "floor time" and answer the phone, then whoever calls could be my client, but I just don't have the opportunity. Kevin has been working more hours, he's also busy with the FD, that he's not home much to watch the girls. Oh well......I guess everything will come in time.

HERSEY - Congrats on booking your WDW trip!!!:cool1:

Debbie - Who did you meet at the mall - anyone we know????

Jedi - I'm the same age as Nicole, and I don't remember that movie either. :sad2:

Sam - What's in Table Rock Missori? Is that a place you spend a week or a long weekend? We are always looking for new things to do for a long weekend in the summer.

Rose - Did you get information yet on Hershey, PA? I really want to go there. If you decide to go there, maybe you can pick me up some info when you're there and give it to me at a winter DIS Meet.:)

Well, I'm off to fold some laundry while Ms. Katie is asleep and before Steph gets home from school.

Later gaters!!!!

Well I should have been more clear. It's not Table Rock, MO, it is BRANSON, Missouri which is located on Table Rock Lake. Yes, Branson :rolleyes1 moldy/oldy country singer city of the south. :rotfl:

Branson is a typical tourist trap town where every old country singer you can think of (i.e. Andy Williams, Mickey Gilley) have theaters. It's really "white hair" country, but it also has a nice theme park called Silver Dollar City, Whitewater water park, a big mall, toy museums, caves, butterfly park. There's plenty to do for a week that's for sure, not to mention the resort with the pool, fishing and boat rides.

So, it will be a decent vacation. Megan will love it because it will include her favorite thing (pools!!). She loves to swim, but won't get her hair wet or go under water? Does that fear end as they get older? I hope so!!

Slo If it's due to copyright laws how does Barnes and Noble take back books?:confused3

I have no idea:confused3

The whole thing seemed weird to me.

I never needed to return a book anywhere, so I have never been allowed to or denied to before. Could the law be different in Indiana vs. Illinois?:confused3 I just don't know:headache:

My in-laws have gone there before, and they liked it "just okay".

Close to there is the Precious Moments Chapel that I really want to visit someday. I collect Precious Moments, and that chapel looks so beautiful. Plus.....the man that created Precious Moments is there alot, and is once in awhile available to sign pieces. I have many retired pieces that I would love to get his signature on.

To answer your question about Megan not liking to get her face wet. Stephanie was the same way, and then one summer she just started jumping in the pool. She loved it so much, that she started jumping all the time. Now, she's a regular fish:) I do believe Megan will start doing this also when she's ready. Once she realizes that getting her face wet isn't going to hurt, or be to scary, she'll do it all the time. :thumbsup2 It's kinda like when a baby walks - they all do it at a different time and a different pace.

Slo: I'm going to try to get Dan to take the long way home through Marceline, Missouri, boyhood home of Walt Disney! He'll think I'm nuts, but hey, I gotta work Disney into this somehow!!

The Precious Moments Chapel is about 2 hours from Branson, but still doable. I have a piece I would love for Mr. Butcher to sign too! I'm a collector too, but not an avid collector. When I see something that strikes me, I get it, but I haven't gotten anything PM in a few years. I am a Coca Cola bear fan too!

I'm hoping all the swim time she could get on this vacation will help her get over the fear of going "underwater". I'm going to get a couple hours of night swimming in our April visit to WDW.

slo I believe I am 1 year older than you!! ;)
Boy in the Bubble movie came out in the 70's, and it is occasionally played on some of the cable stations.
I hope you'll be able to find time soon to be able to spend more time at the realtor office. I know there is a lot of work in finding that "groove" in speaking with new potential clients. But I wish you lots of luck and with your personality I'm sure it will be an easy process for you!!

We also like going to the Branson area. We have done the Silver Dollar City amusement park, and also Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede ( it's like Medevil Times but North versus the South style). There is a lot to do there for families. They have a huge Titanic museum the kids want to go see.
We often go and stay at Big Cedar Lodge, it's pricey but they provide so many things to do on property that we sometimes never leave to go any where else. They have GREAT kids programs & activities there, and even a kid club house where they can go and do crafts, play games and eat. Makes for a nice night out for the adults!! :thumbsup2

You can go on Hershey's web site (or call them) and order brochures! I've done this before! :thumbsup2

SamIAm I blame myself for talking too much about Big Cedar that now Dan wants to go fishing on Table Rock Lake!! :rotfl:
You guys will have a great time I'm sure!!
Lauren was the same way about water but got over it! So I'm sure Megan will in her own time.:cutie:
How many days are you planning on going to WDW for MNSSHP?
Hmmmmm....wouldn't that make for a nice little get away with the kids minus dad!!! He needs to stay home and work...make money...so we can go on more trips. ;)
Hmmmmm.......I might have to consider this. Shhhhh! :rolleyes1

jedi Aren't you 30??? So you're not THAT much younger than me or slo!! :rotfl:
There was also a boy in the bubble type comedy movie with Jake Gyllenhall done in 2001.

Gotta run, dinner is almost done cooking. I need to through some rolls into the oven. Our family is a bunch of carb lovers and has bread of some sort at almost every dinner. popcorn:: <---- Not bread, but still a carb!! :)

slo - I bet that's just a rule at Lowes. Since they sell workbooks and shop books, that's probably why they have that policy. Barnes and Noble and Borders do take books back! That just doesn't make sense. If anything, if the copyright is "broken" by you photocopying it, then it's the author and publisher who are at a disadvantage, not the store.
We have photocopiers in the library, and we don't tell patrons to go photocopy stuff from books, but yet they will still do it and we're not liable just because we supplied the photocopier. Does that make sense? :confused3

Hmm..you could always throw this question out on the CB and see what people say. Maybe someone knows the definite answer

Hi, guys...I'm no good at the copy & paste thing, so I have to try and just remember what to respond to, so I apologize in advance if I forget anything...

First, Sandy, thanks for asking about Christopher. He actually did go back to school last week, but he is home just for *today* because he ordered a new "monster"! He had a computer built-to-order and it was shipped here from California, and he knew it was going to be delivered today. It was amazing...he walked in the door, and honestly, like 10 seconds later, the doorbell rang and it was FedEx with his computer delivery! He is way into computers (majoring in computer graphics and interactive media) so he is really looking forward to getting this thing up & running...and then, he will be off to go back to Dubuque in the morning. Well, at least Brian is still around...although he is so busy with work and directing for the play (the musical he's directing this year is "Footloose") and going to school and his fiancee that he might as well be gone, too!

Nicole...thank you for the crock-pot recipes! I am always looking for easy crock pot meals. Do you (or does anyone) have any crock pot soup recipes? I made an Italian pasta & tomato soup last night that was really good, but very, very spicy (too much spicy pepper, I think!)

Hersey...CONGRATULATIONS on booking your trip!!! Is the food and wine festival still going on then?

Jedi...I know I have returned books to Barnes & Noble before, too. I am surprised that Sandy was told it was a copyright thing?? Does your library have any info on that? I have just never heard of that before...

Rose..I remember the Boy in the Bubble movie, and it was okay...nothing I would rush out to own, but I think John Travolta did a good job in it.

SamIAm...we have been to Branson, and it's about 150 miles or so from Carthage, MO where the Precious Moments Chapel is. I am a *major* Precious Moments Collector (I think I have told you guys this before??)...I have two cabinets full of PM pieces, and have been to the chapel a few times. I have met Sam Butcher, and have had pieces signed by him and have gone to a few PM collector conventions. The chapel is beautiful, and well worth a visit if you can work it in...but, I have read that this year they are cutting back on some attractions there. They have this show called the Fountain of Angels that is beyond amazing, it is water mists and angels and music and it's just really, really cool, but due to budget things, they may not be showing it this year. :( Branson was okay...I liked the lake that is near there probably more than I liked the town!

Okay, tonight is that *special* hamburger & kluski noodle meal since Christopher is in town, and that is his request...nothing really special...just cream of mushroom soup and milk and a little garlic salt...with the hamburger & noodles...I make it all mixed up like a casserole, and everyone seems to enjoy it! What is everyone else making for dinner tonight? I think I'm hungry!!!!:)

Have a good evening, all!!!

Hi, guys...I'm no good at the copy & paste thing, so I have to try and just remember what to respond to, so I apologize in advance if I forget anything...

I never did the multiple copy and paste thing either. But the new multi-quote feature is really, really cool!! Just look for the button that looks like this...
multiquote_off.gif

Click on it for each post you want to respond to, then click quote on the last post and it will open a reply with each post quoted individually. It's really cool!! Now, I can do multiple replies on one post.

Have you ever had one of those nights were nearly everything is a bust? If I can ever figure out why my computer wants to give me a migrane I may be a millionaire. :rotfl: If it wasn't so cold outside my computer would have been a lawn ornament. OK to bed for me my head is swimming from figure what I did so I can undo overload.

I hope tomorrow I'm smarter
