Good cold Monday morning,
Thank you Tiggerrn, for the input on Value City furniture and the Cedar Point amusement park input(I think that's the place you mean). Haven't been to either Cedar Point nor Hershey Park. I know geffric knows alot about Cedar Point. I convinced DH that we need to do something special for the kids 10yr birthday coming up in April. Some kind of nice vacation in the summer. He finally agreed to that. He didn't agree to anything Disney, but he did agree on Hershey Park or Cedar Point. I really didn't want to go back to the Dells, as there are no characters there to meet. And I really have no interest in Branson right now. Sounds like my dh wants to drive all the way to Hershey, PA, but taking 2 days, and a stopover in Cleveland for the halfway driving point. I'm a little nervous of being so far away from here b/c of my grandma. I will get tons of guilt trips from my parents that we are driving too far, need to think about grandma, why are we spending money when we can vacation here, etc. It's been going thru my head lately. Kinda wish airfare was cheaper to get to Harrisburg PA from here, but it isn't :guilty: My heart says Hershey Park, but my mind says we should be close, like Cedar Point. Matthew I think is too tall for Camp Snoopy at CP. He is about 2 inches over the limit on the rides at Camp Snoopy. We have been to Camp Snoopy before at Mall of America a few yrs back. Sorry to go on and on. I guess for me Hershey Park is going to be a poor man's Disney for us, but it should be very fun. We haven't made plans yet, just in the talking stages. Forgot to say Chrissy and I love chocolate!! So Hershey Park wouldn't be bad ;)

Mac-thanks for the tv listings :thumbsup2

jedi- hope your eye is better :wizard:

tiggerrn- sorry to hear about the bookshelves. Hope your dh can exchange them.

Welcome Tony P. to our thread!

Kim- glad you and Kelly had a great time at the concert! :thumbsup2

Have a good day, everyone.

did agree on Hershey Park or Cedar Point.

If you're looking for Cedar Point info, TownCrier, here on the DIS, lives near Cedar Point. I'm sure he'd be a wealth of info (If you don't already know TownCrier, you're missing out. John is a really great guy!).

:faint: :faint: i think i am too tired! the kids are napping already from being up so early and i want to join them! hahah but duty calls :) just wanted to say good morning!

Happy Monday everyone... okay fine... It's Monday, I know you aren't too excited about it! ;)

Well, I just talked to Bunchkin and they said they were having a good time. They got a little rain this morning, but I think she said it was clearing up (her cellphone was cutting in and out)! That's a good thing. They were returning the golf cart, which she said was fun. She told me too that she found the special hat I was looking for at Mickey's Philharmagic! I can't wait to get it actually! I promised my friends on the train, I'd wear it! These ladies are not anti-Disney, but they aren't Disney PHREAKS like me either! So, I'll get to sit next to them and embarrass them with my special Donald Duck hat!!

Has anyone seen this hat before? It's white fleece that is shaped like Donald's tailfeather area and it has the orange webbed feet sticking up! Yep, that's the hat I want. I can't wait to wear it!! I tried to get it when I was there in December, but they were all out! Bummer!!!! But that's okay, I got one now!! YeAH!

I already have a few plans made for my two day trip. Megan wants to see Stitch, so I am going to call today and make my reservations for the Lilo & Stitch breakfast!! We can have breakfast there on Friday the 13th :scared1: and then make a day of it at MK!! Woohoo!

And, we've also decided to eat over at the Italian restaurant on Thursday. Someone really talked up the Fettucine Alfredo on a podcast I listened too and now I'm extremely interested to try it. I think the first day, we'll do Epcot and then MK on Friday. I expect it will be a bit crowded that week, but it's not like we'll be on a mission to see it all, since we've seen a great deal of it already!! By that time, most of the rides will be open again like El Rio Del Tiempo!! Yeehaw! And, we'll get to see the Three Caballeros!

Well I gotta get some work done today, flying solo here and I can't get too far behind!

Crissup- thanks for the referral about Towncrier :thumbsup2

DMM-

SamIAm- You're talking about the Italian restaurant at Epcot?
That is a nice restaurant :thumbsup2 In 1994, when DH and I went, they had the strolling musicians in the restaurant and we did the napkin twirling- alot of fun! But when we went in 2004, no strolling musicians nor napkin twirling :sad2: I don't know if they don't do that anymore or what happened :confused3 , as I didn't know about these DISboards until after our 2004 trip and I haven't been to the restaurant board here on the DIS.

Guess we'll be hearing soon how Slo and Bunchy's mini-trips went :)

Hi to all

:faint: :faint: i think i am too tired! the kids are napping already from being up so early and i want to join them! hahah but duty calls :) just wanted to say good morning!

Ya THINK !!!! LOL:lmao: What were you doing up at 3AM? Kids up early too I bet. Good evening everyone.
Busy day at work today. Then PTO meeting tonight. Now too wound up to sleep.
DD told me she heard on the news today that Tigger punched a kid at WDW. Well, I looked at the video here on the DIS and looks to me like that kid was up to something. Not something good either.:tigger: I hope Tigger doesn't get into too much trouble.
Well, gonna browse around here a bit.
Slo and Bunchkin should be returning soon. Sure hope they bring the sun along.
Later

Honey......I'm home!!!!!! :wave2:

We had so much fun - I laughed and laughed and laughed:rotfl2: . The 3 of us hanging out, was like old times again - it was so much fun!!!!!

Friday
We checked into a beautifully decorated Wilderness Lodge. We checked into room #1015, which was very close to the snack shop (I was glad I didn't have to far to go for my morning coffee:thumbsup2 ). I took pictures of the room - I'll show them later.

We changed our clothes and went to The California Grill for dinner. Before we went into our restaurant, Kevin and I went to find Nicole and Tony. I knew they were eating at The Concourse Steakhouse, and we did find them there. So we stopped and talked to them for a couple of minutes - it was good to see them!!! When we checked into the restaurant, I told them it was our 10th anniversary that day, and I would really like us to have a window seat. We had to wait a little longer for our seat, but that was okay. We had a great view, and was there during Wishes:goodvibes . We had the Flatbread, Crab Sushi Rolls, and the Filet Mignon (which was the best filet I have ever had).

After dinner (which took 2 hours because we took it very slow) we went to DTD until midnight. Everything was beautifully decorated - it was nice to mosey around and look at everything.:)

Saturday
We woke up at 5am (which wasn't easy after staying up as late as we did - but that was our own fault) and left the resort at 5:30am to watch our friend watch the 1/2 marathon. We went to the MK to watch him run up MainStreet, and it was so nice to see the decoration still up and lit there too. When the runners went by, it was very exciting - we did alot of cheering:cheer2: . After our friend ran by, we left and hopped on the monorail to Epcot to see him finish. That was very exciting as well - he did a great job!!!!:woohoo:

After we left him (he went back to his resort to get some rest) we went back to our resort for breakfast at Whispering Canyon, which was very very good!!!!

We then went back to Epcot to spend the day there. Unfortunatly during our time there, Kevin's stomach started to not feel well. God Bless him though, we still did alot, and we had a great time:) !!! We did meet our friend at Coral Reef (which I wouldn't return to. I liked the atmosphere, but I didn't like the menu:sad2: . I wish it was more like Red Lobster, but it was more gourmet like). After dinner we left so Kevin could get back to the resort and go to bed. Unfortunatly his night didn't get any better, and he got sicker:guilty: .

Sunday
After Kevin had a bad night, he wanted to stay and sleep during the day on Sunday. So I picked up our friend and drove to MGM. We covered so much ground there, it was great:yay: !!!! Unfortunatly RnR was down for refurbishment, and I was really looking forward to going on that - oh well, next time. But we did almost everything else though - including Indiana Jones :woohoo: (I've never seen that, and I always wanted to). Kevin did make it to the park much later in the day, but he didn't stay with us long. We saw The Osborne Festival of Lights, which was breathtaking, and then we all left back to the resort.

At the resort, we all grabbed a small bite to eat at the snack shop, and then Kevin went back to the room, and my friend and I went to the MK for EMH. While we were there, we got to do everything again - it was awesome:woohoo: !!!! Also, while we were waiting for Stitch's Great Escape, we ran into Nicole and Tony, so we sat with them. It was good to see them again, and they were having a great time!!!

My friend and I stayed until 11pm.

Monday
Luckily, Kevin was feeling better and was up to having breakfast. So we picked up our friend, and went to the MK for breakfast at the Crystal Palacepooh: . This was our friends first time at a character breakfast, and he really enjoyed it. What was amazing to me at this breakfast, is this is the 3rd time in a row that we sat at the same table there - isn't that weird?! That building is so big, and we keep sitting at the same table - it's almost like our name is on it:rolleyes: .

After breakfast we hit some rides (all we went on the night prior, but that was totally okay with me), and then got a Dole Whip and watched Captain Jack's little showpirate: . The guy that plays him is awesome - acts just like him!!!!

Then we went on a couple of more rides (of which we ran into Nicole and Tony again at Buzz Lightyears :) ), and then left for the airport at 2:30pm. I was sad to go, because we had so much fun (even though Kevin was sick, we still had some really fun times), but I was glad to go because I really missed my girls.

Our flight was very bumpy home - I hate that!!!!!
But when we got home, there were welcome home pictures on the door from the girls, and it made me almost cry. Then when we walked in the door, the girls cheered, just cheered, because we were home. What a wonderful feeling:goodvibes !!!!! As much as I love WDW, there's still no place like home!!!!!:cloud9:

Well, that was my trip in a nutshell.
I hope you all had a good weekend.
I will need to go back and catch-up on everything.

Until then, I gotta run and get Steph off to school.:teacher:
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

good morning Chicagoland! Anyone else glad that once again the forecast was wrong and there is no snow?? I know I am. I hate walking to work in the snow and ice! And people may ask just what the heck I'm doing in Chicago???
I'm back from a long vacation. I went to Taiwan with DBF and stayed with his parents (he is from Taipei) and I had a wonderful time. The weather is so nice (around 60 every day) and I got to see so much cool stuff eat so much cool stuff and do a lot of great shopping. I even went on the tallest building in the world and could see almost the whole city from up there! I was there for 2.5 weeks and we saw much of the island in that time. At the beginning of the trip we went to the south tip of the island which is tropical and has a beautiful national park. Incidentally just 2 weeks later a big eathquake hit in the same area we were at! Pretty scary! But we were fine. Didn't even feel it in Taipei-which is on the north tip of the island. But now I'm back, the holidays are over and its time to get back to work! I am ready for another vacation!

Slo it sounds like you had a wonderful time at the world! So sorry Kevin got sick tho-thats no fun!

Rose-I used to live in Ohio and went to Cedar Point many a time-any questions PM me!

Jedi hope the swelling continues to go down!

SamIam I want to see pics of you wearing that hat!

Leigh-hello! I read earlier that you moved? Any closer to work or still way out in the suburbs?

Michelle I see you are back to your old insomniac self!

To all chicago-happy TUesday!

Slo Welcome back I'm glad you had a great time. Sorry to hear Kevin wasn't feeling well.

Princess Mindy Wow it sounds like you had a fantastic trip also.:thumbsup2 Glad to hear from you long time no see.

Hi to everyone talk to you all later.

Welcome back Slo and Kevin!! Sorry to hear Kevin was sick. Hope he is doing better. How did your friend do on the half marathon?

Princess Mindy- Nice to see you! Glad you had a good time in Taiwan!! I heard about that tall skyscraper, supposed to be the tallest in the world. I saw it in some movie too,but can't remember what movie.
You haven't been to Hershey Amusement Park,in Hershey, PA, have you? We are leaning towards there instead of Cedar Point. But if we decide to do Cedar Point, I'll PM you.

Hi Hersey and everyone

good tuesday morning chicagoland homies.

welcome back home slo and nicole.......picture time around the corner??

sorry that mr. slo was sick. but good he felt better at the end of the trip.
hard to fly in a plane when not 100%.

hello roseprincess and mindy and hersey. good to see you this morning.

mindy , wow, great trip !

catch you later

Welcome back Slo and I know Bunchkin is probably still sleepin! Glad you had a good time despite the bad tummy! It stinks to be sick in WDW!!

Well, I'm sorta busy today, so I gotta run!

roseprincess Does Southwest fly into Harrisburg because they usually have deals on those northern type locations the closer you get to spring. Check out Southwest.

I'll be back when the work tapers off later today!

:wave2:

roseprincess: Does Southwest fly into Harrisburg because they usually have deals on those northern type locations the closer you get to spring. Check out Southwest.
Thanks for asking. No, unfortunatley, Southwest doesn't go into Harrisburg, PA. It does fly out to Pittsburgh, but we we would have to do a rental car from Pittburgh to Hershey,PA. We were going to do a rental car anyways for our trip b/c our van and car may not make a trip like this. We have done rental cars before and I have some rental car coupons from the entertainment book. I looked at United, American Airlines, even Jet Blue. United and American were wayyyy expensive for round trip for 4. I can't remember if Jet Blue went out to Harrisburg, I don't think so. I'll have to check again. I even looked at Spirit Airlines, and it didn't show it went out to Harrisburg, either. I even checked the Harrisburg International Airport website and not a lot of airlines are used there. I think United, Continental, Delta, Northwest. Driving there should work out and should be fine :)

That's the way I always feel. I'm a very picky eater, and there are a lot of restaurants I want to try at WDW for the atmostphere, but the food is just too out there for me. :sad2:

But I'm glad you had a great trip, although it's too bad about Kevin's stomach. And it's nice you ran into Bunchkin--that's funny that you saw them twice by accident, in all that area with all those people!

Leigh-hello! I read earlier that you moved? Any closer to work or still way out in the suburbs?

I bought a townhouse, but it's still being built. Actually, it's a little further out, in Aurora by the Rt 59 train station, right near Fox Valley Mall. It's supposed to be ready sometime from Feb-Apr.

I was supposed to have a pre-drywall walk-through on Monday, which was supposed to be a day off for me for MLK's birthday. But I just found out that now I have to work. :sad2: I have to work that day and President's day, but we'll get 3 floating days to replace them. So that part isn't bad, but now I have to see if I can make my meeting a little more convenient considering I'll be downtown.

Sounds like you had a great trip!
