Good evening all.
Debbie-I could see your pix today. Those pumpkins are great. How long did that take you?
Becky glad to hear your DS is feeling better.
Rosemarie-strange you had a migraine yesterday morning. Hope yours is gone today with no side effects. I had one in the am as well. Got the whole visual aura thing when I was getting ready to go to Wicked. Took 2aspirin, 2Tylenol with a pop really quick in hopes of avoiding the headache. Had a heck of a time getting ready. Tried so hard for DD because she was so excited. Vision returned in time to drive to the train, but had a naggy headache the whole train ride. DD wanted to play I Spy and all I could do was try to keep my eyes closed and lean head against cold window. Thankfully, by the time we got Downtown, it had eased. Then we ate lunch and I just felt like I could fall asleep during the show.
DD loved Wicked. Hopefully, Tony couldn't tell that I was dozing off a bit. DD sat near the edge of her seat with the binoculars and bopped to the music. Thanks Mindy for arranging this. We had a great time.
It was great to meet many of you. Sat with Bunckin and Tony and Mindy and Leigh and Mindy's friend at lunch. KimRaye and her DD and my DD were the same age and had the same name. (Once again, I got in trouble for "spelling my DD name wrong"). Sorry, Kellie. And also met JFulcer and family, Paintnolish and she had friends along. We didn't see Eeyore45 although we tried to keep a lookout.
We had a great time. Lost everyone in the mass exit. DD and I walked to TDS (no good bargains to be had) then over to AG and she browsed a bit and we decided to check on availability for dinner and got lucky. So we enjoyed a mom/daughter dinner at AG. Then headed back to the train (walked quickly to catch the 7:20). Home by 9.
Very busy at work today. Where do all these pregnant people come from? Late getting home.
Bunchkin great to meet you and your DH. Hope you are enjoying your new furniture today.
Slo, hope you enjoyed the magic show.
Hersey-hope you're feeling better.
Mindy and Leigh, great talking with you.
Rosemarie-hope you had a good time at the kid party today.
OK taken up more than enough good space here. LOL Have a great week everyone. Looks like the weather should be good. :sunny:

Hi everyone! :wave2: It was fun seeing everyone at the Meet yesterday! I ate lunch with Mindy and her friend, Tiggerrn and her DD, and the Bunchkins. Then before we went over to the theater, KimRaye and her DD and Jfulcer and his DW and DD arrived. Then outside the theater we met up with Paintnolish and her friends, and Disneymama and her family. Then we went inside and that's where everything got a little jumbled. :rotfl: I lost everyone that I had been with before. I thought that I would either be sitting in the same section as them or across the aisle. But it turned out they were on the other side of the theater. Finally I did pick them out of the crowd. But in our area I met Disneykat and her DD, Disneymama (who I hadn't actually met outside) and her family, and eeyore45 and her DH and DD. Whew, I think that's everyone I met! And I think there were still a few people that I didn't meet! But it was great meeting everyone!!! :sunny:

After the show, I went around the corner with Disneykat and her DD to see the Ch. 7 studio. They weren't doing a broadcast at the time, but it was neat to see. And I pointed out to them a man that was standing there. I had heard Ron Magers talk about how he stands out there on the radio, and it was funny that there he was! Here's an article about him.

http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4155/is_20050612/ai_n14679324

His name is Vincent Falk, and he's legally blind. He wears crazy suits, so he stands out. Although the one last night was just black with white pin stripes, with a White Sox pin. :goodvibes Here's his web page. He has pictures of himself with the Mickeys and the cows.

http://vpfalk.net/

Pretty interesting guy.

Then Disneykat and her DD headed out to shop ;) , and I headed to the train station. Someone grabbed me as I passed by the theater looking for a cab, and it was the Bunchkins. They looked like they had been grocery shopping, which I thought was strange, but now I find out it was popcorn. :thumbsup2 popcorn:: They, like my dad, thought I should just walk to the station, but it was getting late, so I walked a couple of blocks and found a cab and made it to the station in time. So I was home by 6:30pm. :thumbsup2

Now about Wicked...I didn't really love it, but I think I'm the only one. I was never hugely interested in going to see it, which is why I never went before, but with the Meet I thought it was a good time to go, to be able to meet more DISers (and that part was great! :goodvibes ). I just didn't really love the music (unlike most musicals I've seen), and while there were good parts, overall it just wasn't my cup of tea.

But I did enjoy seeing everyone, and I want to thank Mindy for organizing this. She really put a lot of work into it, and was really looking for people in the food court and in front of the theater. So if she didn't find you, it wasn't for lack of trying. There were just crowds everywhere, and a lot of it was luck. ::yes::

And, boy, I was busy today, too! :faint: I went on my first outing looking at townhomes. And I think I might have narrowed it down to one development in Aurora. It's call Lehigh Station, and it's near the Rt. 59 train station, so it would be very convenient for me for getting to work. Plus it's near a lot of restaurants and shopping, and roomy enough but not too expensive. We have to see what come up with. It's really confusing trying to get straight answers out of the builder's salesperson. But maybe my real estate agent can do better when we're not there. But in four hours we went to 9+ homes, in Lisle, Naperville, and Aurora! Then afterward we went our for my birthday last week, to Red Robin. Yummy bleu cheese cheeseburger! :goodvibes

Ok, that's been my busy weekend. Hopefully next week will be more relaxing.

Well, Kevin got our Christmas lights up and they look great :thumbsup2 . We had them on long enough to see them, and now they are off until the day after Thanksgiving :) I had Kevin string lights over our skylight in the kitchen, and they look really cool.

Rosemarie - I'm glad you feel better from your headache :) How was your kiddie party yesterday?

HERSEY - how are you feeling today?

Bunchkin - I'm glad you had a good time at Wicked, and that Tony enjoyed it :cool1:
**So.....how does the furniture look? It's always fun to get new furniture :woohoo:
**Did you have luck with getting a new tree? We need to go get a new tree too, because the raccoons were nesting in our old one :guilty:

Debbie - I'm a real Donny Osmond fan too - love him  I loved him in Joseph, and I also saw him when he toured with Jim Brickman :)
**Thanks for the kind words - you're so sweet!!!!

Becky - I'm glad your DS is feeling better :)

Disneynut - I really love Targets $1 spot too - I'm always able to find stuff there :thumbsup2

macraven - thanks for posting the tv listings :)

Jedi - Hi there!!! :wave2:

Tiggerrnn - I'm sorry you had a migraine on Saturday :guilty: - I can could feel your pain as your were describing it. I hope you are feeling better now. It can sometimes take 2 days for me to feel better after a super migraine.

Leigh - Wow, you had a busy weekend. I'm glad you had fun at Wicked, even though you didn't care to much for the play. Good luck with finding that townhouse :wizard:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - have a good day today!!!

hello chicagoland homies.

good
2.gif
morning to everyone !!

it's raining where i am..........i want it to go away......

Good morning, everyone & happy new week!

Sandy...good job on getting those Christmas lights up when it was warm outside. I mentioned that possibility to Mark, but I think he must like to freeze, since it didn't happen yesterday! You asked about Christopher's degree...he is studying computer graphics...he would like to do some kind of web-game design. <proud mom moment> I think he's actually pretty good at it!

Nicole...did you say you used to have 15 foot ceilings?? WOW! We have a 10 foot ceiling in the kitchen, and that's tall enough!!!

Leigh...I like that the name of the townhouse place you're considering (Lehigh) is so close to your own name, so my vote is for signing right up! :) The ice skating show at the Sears Centre was really good...we had seats only seven rows back from the ice, and as usual, the talents of the skaters just amazed me.

Disneynut...I think I may have to go to Target soon! :thumbsup2

I hope everyone had a great weekend...thanks for sharing how the meet at WICKED was...

Hope you all have a good day today!!! :goodvibes

Good Monday morning all. Raining here, too, off and on. At least it's not freezing cold. :) Later this week looks nice. Planning to go with my mom on Wed. to the Lighthouse Outlet Mall in Michigan City to shop a bit.
Have a Christmas tree to decorate this week for school. Each grade level gets one tree to do and then the trees are raffled off at the Art/Craft Show which is this weekend. Seems strange to do a Christmas tree this far before Thanksgiving.
Leigh, good luck house hunting. Hope you find something great.
Bunchkin, did you find a new tree?
Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning one and all!!

Today and tomorrow the kids are off from school. It's parent-teacher conference days. So we're going to the mall today. And we never made it out to look for a Christmas tree yesterday, so we will try today. :)

Donna Yes, our old house had 15 foot ceilings in the living room and dining room. In our current house the ceilings are all 9 foot. So our 9ft tree is too overwhelming now, especially since it is 8 FEET WIDE!!! BIG TREE!!!! :rotfl:

Leigh That's funny you thought we had been grocery shopping!!! :rotfl2: Sorry if we startled you.

Tiggerrn We had no clue you were sleeping at Wicked!! Sorry to hear you had a headache. It sure didn't show on the outside! :thumbsup2

slo The furniture is AWESOME!!!! Tony actually went early to pick it all up. He came home and started unloading the lighter stuff before our help arrived. I guess he was a little anxious! Everyone really liked what we picked out. :goodvibes So that made us feel good! :thumbsup2 It's so nice to finally have our new furniture! ::yes::

Disneynut It sounds like you found some really cute things at Target!! I  Target!! ::yes::

Speaking of Christmas decorations........this is crazy........
Looking out our kitchen windows last night, us and our friends spotted a house on the street behind us that has all their outside Christmas lights up and ***ON***!!!!! :sad2: CRAZY MADNESS!!!! :sad2:
I noticed the day after Halloween that I *thought* I saw red candy canes lit up. And Tony said "NO, those are just orange Halloween lights they have up.". Well, yesterday they had a ton of lights lit and the red candy canes!!!
Geez, they didn't succumb to the pressure of the retail market did they?? :furious:

Well, I'll get off my holiday soap box and leave! :teeth: :thumbsup2
Have a great day everyone!!! :grouphug:

:moped:

i saw christmas items and store decorations in late september.

that is very early.

i can't think about christmas, i haven't even thought of my thanksgiving dinner plans yet. know it will be turkey but that's it.

for the tree, i , if i am lucky, put it up by dec 22nd and take it down newyears eve.

no one helps me so i do it when i get to it.
last year it was up on christmas eve..........so sad...

hope you all are having a good day.

only 4 more days not until the weekend...

Yeah, the name thing is funny. It's hard to type Lehigh because I'm so used to typing Leigh. :rotfl: Glad you had fun at Ice Wars! What did you think of the Sears Centre? I hadn't even heard of it until Ice Wars!

And Bunchkin, you didn't startle me much. It just took a second to realize who it was. But I figured it was someone from our group. :goodvibes

I called a lendor to see about getting pre-approved for a mortgage. I'm not sure if I should call more than one, though. My agent gave me three names that she recommends, so I just called the first one first. She hasn't called me back yet, though. She was probably on her lunch break.

The whole mortgage thing is kind of scary. I hope I get approved for enough. I have really good credit, but my salary isn't all that high. :guilty:

Hi all-
My friends son's small birthday party went well yest :thumbsup2 . We did a combo get-together/ birthday party with my friend and her family, us, and another family my friend knows. We were actually up at Culvers in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Macraven, up near you! Culvers was pretty crowded!
Had a nice time.

Mac- my dh's family is of Luxembourg heritage! No kidding! Dh's father was born here and a great aunt was born here, too.

Sk8Leigh- my dh works for a mortgage company somewhat near you. He works in accounting, but he's worked for them for 6 and a half yrs. I'll try to PM you the mortgage co. info.

Hi to everyone else :wave2:

Hi Everyone,
No rain here after we left the house. It was actually kind of nice. Who lives by me again? I know I keep asking but I am just curious. Busy Monday....
I took my DD to tap class, ran some errands and thanks to Disneynut71 I had to go to Target!!! Can you believe it's already pretty picked over! Costco has those cute Disney PJ's in the tins again and the grocery store was dull.

Just placed another huge order with the bow lady (Aliisa)! I am addicted to her big pretty bows! I am going to put them in my DD's hair while she still let's me. princess: DD will be 4 on Friday. :guilty: I am getting old!

Thanks for the WICKED updates. Sounds like it was fun.
I would love to meet you guys sometime too. Maybe another meet.

Becky...We WILL be at HSM!!!!!!!!!

Good luck Leigh with the home hunting. That's gotta be a pain (yet exciting).

Sandy...I can't believe your lights are up! Way to go (again). Hi-5 getting your DH to do it! You got it together girl!!!

Donna sounds like your DH is more like mine! His name is Mark too! He will be freezing out there! We might have another chance though this weekend.

Macraven... :coffee: I wish I could have coffee with you. I think you're too far though. Let's have an email coffee for now homie. :surfweb:

I gotta run. I hope ALL of you had a nice, stress free, germ free, headache free, etc. etc. day!
Maybe I can type more later. My DH is back to playing poker on-line so he's hogging the computer now too!
Debbie

Hey, how'd y'all know i put up my Christmas lights??? oh, slo is Sandy too..

I dont have a light for our driveway, and when I took down the Halloween lights, I knew I had to have lights out there - so I grabbed one set of White Icicle lights!!! The rest will wait until Thanksgiving... maybe... I hear we'll have another 70 degree day!!!

Thanks for the thoughts, and I'll try harder to meet up next time. I felt so conspicous, and since there was no response to my 3pm post by the time we left for the train, I thought everyone was going to do their own thing!! I'll try harder next time!! I do so appreciate that Mindy put it all together!! DD wanted to do AG, but I thought we'd save that for another day, so we went out, and down and over, saw that Berghoff's was open!! Went in, they have some menu items the same, they're calling themselves... 17... their addy is 17 Adams street... I have a menu, they have a lunch and a dinner, its paired down considerably, the bar, the main restaraunt, it all looked strange....

Good morning everyone!

Happy voting! Get out and vote today That's my public service annoicement Soon the phone calls and commercials will end :cheer2:

Had Alex's parent/teacher meeting yesterday. His teacher and I are on the same page he is a bright kid, smart teacher.

I think I'm finally on the good side of this cold :cheer2:.

Leigh Happy house shopping. This part I like the house hunting. Since I'm a little compulsive I become the morgage people worst nightmare. I keep them moving in a forward motion, they don't work in my time table. Hence my refi nightmare in May. Have all your paperwork in a folder and keep it with you, in case they loose something :rolleyes1

Well got to get in the shower and off to work Hi Ho Hi Ho.

Oh I almost forgot Cars is released today off to the disney store after work. Atleast I know what I'm watching tonight.

Well everyone, this is the last day we have to put up with all those election commercials  I don't know if I could take another day of them.

Well, I still haven't been able to shake this cold, and it's time to make a doctors appointment - I sure hope I can get in tomorrow. I know I have an upper respitory infection and need an antibiotic. I get one of these almost every year and the worst part is the coughing. I cough so much that it's embarrassing when I'm out in the public. If they can't get me in, I hope they perscribe me a Z-Pack over the phone - those are the best!!!!

HERSEY - I'm glad everything went well at your parent teacher conference. I have mine with Steph's teacher today - I'm interested in what she has to say
**Have fun watching CARS tonight

macraven - How have you been feeling lately? I sure hope you've been feeling okay :wizard:

Donna - That's great about Christopher :woohoo: I bet you are really proud. You'll have to keep us posted on how he is doing his last year of school.

Tiggerrnn - I would love to get back to Lighthouse Mall, but I just don't have a chance in my schedule. Did you find any great buys? I always love going in the kitchen stores, especially the Corning Ware store.

Bunchkin - I so glad you like your new furniture :goodvibes Whenever I get new furniture I love to just stand there and look at it :)
**Did you find a new tree? Where did you go to look? We always go to American Sales.

Leigh - Good luck with finding your new home :wizard: . Getting a mortgage can be really scary - we were very nervous our first time too. Keep us posted on how everything goes.

Rosemare - I'm glad you had a nice time at the birthday party Sunday.

Debbie - I'm very lucky that Kevin does all that stuff :) But, we've had an arrangement from the time we were married which is.......
He does everything outside and I do everything inside
It's a great arrangement and I love it!!! He doesn't ask me to push a lawn mower and I don't ask him to push a vaccuum. Now, during the summer I have alot of flowers outside that I take care of, but that is something I like to do - I don't expect him to do that too :sad2:

eeyore45 - I forgot your name is Sandy too. I have to put that in my memory bank :)

Well I gotta go get ready to go to the real estate office today.
Have a good day everyone!!!

Hi everyone! Long time, no see! Wicked was fab, but I have to say, not as good as I had hoped. I read the book and it was very, very different. It was fun, though. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but I did a "what the-?!?" at the end!

Becky...We WILL be at HSM!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: I think I need to take a break from looking at that. You don't even want to know the most bizarre dream I had about getting tickets the other day. It was so mixed up that it made no sense whatsoever. It would have made a lot more sense if I had taken some sort of cold medicine or *something* but I hadn't so it was just a one of those ones that I didn't get much sleep from, woke up & thought "what have I been smoking?"

I did ask DD if she cared if we had to end up getting the cheap seats but still get to go...she just looked at me with the look of "you have to ask?" :p

So we will definitely be there...somewhere.

Sk8Leigh -- I don't know the sudivision you are talking about but I know the area. At least I know where 59 & the train station is. I have driven by there many a time. Of course, I've never ventured much off of 59 going by the area though but am usually on my way to the stores/restaraunts around there.

I hope everyone gets over their colds & are on the mend if you have just gotten over one.

Our school was PACKED this morning since it's also a voting place. My poor 1st grader, he gets overwhelmed as it is in the morning & usually I park. I had to just be in the car line today though because there was no parking spots, so just dropped him off & had to drive off. Usually I wait until the bell rings & make sure he gets in. No call from the school so I'm sure he is there. I already told them, I'll be in the car line today for pick-up since I'm sure it will be just as packed. Now, if I could *just* get him able to strap himself in we would be good, I'm usually doing the turn around and try to click him in while slowly going down the car line. Usually traffic backs up & you are stopped for a bit anyway, so I can do it but not always (I always make sure he's clicked in though before we hit the street). He has motor skill delays so that is why it's harder for him to get it clicked in, which is why I prefer to park instead of using the car line.

Debbie6221 -- Your PM box is full. You might want to clean that out so if I find minute breaking news about HSM I can let you in on it. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Anyone else here on the Chicago thread being  parent attempting to get tickets to this? Or is it just Debbie & I? I know there are others in Chicago but I don't think they are on the thread (or if they are & I've missed you, sorry about that).

Becky...the PM's are cleaned up now. Thanks!

Hope everyone is having a healthy day! I hate to hear so many of you are sick. I feel bad for you. It's hard enough getting things done when you are feeling good! Hang in there.

Debbie

Hello!!! :wave2:

What a yucky day! I think the temp is fine, but the cloudyness is despressing. :(

Hersey My kids were disappointed I didn't buy Cars today at Sam's Club while we were out. But I think Walmart has an exclusive 2 dvd pack with an extra little movie or something they made. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. If you get your tonight, have fun watching it!!! :cool1:

slo It's funny what you said about standing there and looking at the furniture!! :teeth: That's exactly what everyone was doing!!! A whole house full of people just looking!! :rotfl2:
No tree yet!!!!! UGGHHH!!!! It's impossible to shop for one with the kids!! I did look at FIM last week when Hunter was in school. And looked today at the one's at Sam's Club --- those were anorexic!! :rotfl:
So my LAST stop will be American Sales.....where I have bought every other tree we have had!! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 I'll go tomorrow while Hunter is in preschool! ::yes::

paintnolish I said "what the blank!!??" at the end of the play because that's NOT how it ended the last time I saw it!! Crazy!!
You were sitting next to Tiggerrn and her DD!!

Well, I have some cyber Christmas shopping to do.
Can I tell you all how VERY disappointing I find the girl's clothing at practically every store in the mall?? Why do they think I want to dress my DD as if she is a teenager or adult??? :sad2: Why do clothes have to have smart aleck sayings on them?? :sad2: It really annoys me to no end!!!
LL Bean has really cute clothes and they keep sending me free shipping emails. So I'm off to give them my $$!! :teeth:

Have a great afternoon all!! :wave2:
