Hi everyone,
My name is Lisa and I am new to the Chicago thread. I live in Addison, a western suburb. I am married w/one daughter, 2 in December. I am lucky enough to be able to stay at home w/my dd, but unfortunately don't know a lot of other people around with kids my dd's age. We tend to go to the mall to let her play w/others. They have a great soft playground in the middle.
I started on the DIS because my sister and I don't know a lot of people into Disney as much as us. I have been going to Disney since I was five. Loved it from the start. Love the movies and as a teen loved the New Mickey Mouse Club.

Good morning!!!

Tonight is our Girl Scout service unit's annual Halloween event! It's a lot of fun! There is dancing, crafts, games & food.
I think I'll wear my new Halloween shirt I bought at WDW!

Follow up of my cardiologist appt: EKG was good, the heart monitor I had to wear last month did report slight arrhythmias. The doctor did say that this is not something I can die from, I of course did want to hear him say that. It's not heart disease. The slight arrhythmias I have been having since my procedure are nothing to worry about. Unless it gets bad like before the procedure. I follow up with another appt in April. If it does get worse I can try another med or have another ablation done.
He did say that I was an odd case, because in the procedure he did 2 ablations. They had found another seperate irregular beat occuring.

Good and bad news always travel together for our family.

Not so good news for the family: Tony's mom is in the hospital with some unexplained bleeding. Recently she had been diagnosed with cancer tumors in her bladder which were removed in Aug. So we don't know if this is related or a seperate issue. She is to have a colonoscopy today.


And some really good news for us: Tony had his workers comp arbitration hearing this morning. And the arbitrator settled the claim for MUCH higher than the claim adjuster had originally agreed to!!!
Finally this whole ordeal is over!!

FIRST TAG!! That's awesome!! I am going to look up your ebay lady for some bows for Megan's hair. She loves having her hair done, but if you so much as pull on knot or yank her hair in any way, she's through!! She will either start crying or just run away! Tempermental eh?

She would probably love some of those bows though!!

Yeah DisneyOhana...I'm glad you came by!! Everyone is great here. As for meeting people....The more activities you sign up for the more you start to meet people. Once the kids are three then they really start doing stuff! I meet people at every class.
I'll meet ya for a play date. My DD will be 4 though. The baby is 1.

Side note....DisneyOhana and OhanaMama you must have something in common, right!

We need to find a way to get a Chicago smiley of some sort!

SamIAm21 My DD used to be a lot worse about her hair then she is now. She takes pride in her bows at this point. It's awesome!

I am still loving my tag. Why is it so exciting!
By the way...I do really, really, despise hangers! You know how you go to get one and they always manage to get tangled up with the other ones no matter what you do! Hate em!

Debbie -- I can understand your about a tag. I got Chachi'd in another thread & I'm about it.

Guess what everyone -- DD is now officially a
Cheerleader. The little stinker! She came home with a "Hi mom" in a depressed voice, so I go downstairs & say "You didn't make it?" and she starts screaming "I MADE IT". Of course, she has no clue who else made it or how many or anything because she basically had enough time to find her name & head to the bus. I know out of the 2 girls she tried out with 1 made it & 1 didn't (but even my DD was pretty sure she wouldn't since she missed one workshop, was late to the 2nd & basically had no clue what the cheer was for the try-outs). I guess I'm *officially* a cheer mom -- EEK! I told DD just to not be a snooty cheerleader. She just looked at me. I guess I get to learn a whole new world and apparently will be going to basketball games to watch the cheerleaders -- which sounds really *ODD* coming from an adult female. I don't really care about watching basketball but I will want to watch my DD cheer. Although, I have to find out if any of her "friends that are boys" are on the basketball team & check them out. I know that at least 1 was talking about trying out but I don't know if he did.

I finally figured out how to post photos so I'm going to take you back.

Day one and the start of 18 hrs, 5 states, 3.5 tanks of gas, 2 extra pitstops, and 3.00 in tolls and we are at WDW and Saratoga Springs.
This is Cameron and see the absolute THRILL on his face, he's also 6 years old

and this is Heidi and what she did most of the trip there.

On Weds. we did our shopping this in front of the world of disney store.

Lot of pirate stuff.
Day 2
First park of the day was EPCOT. Now I was one that would get in and out of this park as fast as I could, but this time we did a little more exploring around the park and I think that next time we'll spend a little more time there. If you look around theres some cool stuff.

then it was off to MGM where Cam got to ride his first thrill ride Tower of terror this is later tring to get him to ride it again Heidi loved it and came running.

It was a full day and lots more to look forward too.

Just have a lot going on this week and today, not bad stuff, just busyness.
Finished painting ds's rocket for his rocket derby tomorrow. Finished wrapping grandma's gifts for her small birthday party on Sunday. Need to do pizza kits and popcorn (fundraiser) pick-up late this afternoon at ds's den leader's house.

Bunchkin- glad to hear your heart is doing fairly well. Prayers to Tony's mom and Tony. Glad to hear of Tony's workers comp thing is settled!

disneyohana-Welcome to our Chicago thread!! I live in Schaumburg, which mall do you go to? Stratford Square?Woodfeild, somewhere esle? My kids are 9 yrs old twins. I have been there, done that when they were 2, kinda lonely time for me at that time. Things seem to pick up as of busyness when your kids get into kindergarten and elementary school. Visit here as often as you want!

There was a thread, somehow, and it took off the tag fairy joined it and the TAGFAIRY put the Chachi's in everyone's siggies!!

Pongogirl on the Maelstrom thread sent us over to the chachi thread, it was pretty funny - BEFORE the TF joined in, then it got crazy!!

come to think of it, I think that even started because a T&B poster started a thread about giving away, or gifting tags, and well, the TF took her tags and gave them to others!!! Then she whined about it in a thread...

OK here is the 3rd day at WDW.

This would prove to be our most hecktic day.
We started out at Animal Kingdom and had to hit Everest first. In the last post I said that Cameron didn't like TT and Everest was no different look at his face in this picture.

This was right after he rode in the front car.LOL
We then hit the MK for a few hours had a great time.
Off to Ohana, it was pretty good cousin. That cracked me up that everyone was called "cousin".After dinner we walked around the grounds till the "wishes cruise".

The Wishes Cruise was well worth it to have that view was great.

Then back to the MK for a few more rides.
The next day it was off to the DCL and 7 days of heaven.

First thing first, if you have never been on a Disney Cruise GO GO GO.

Before we got to DCL we did as much as we could online. Our paper work, singing the kids up for thier clubs( I'll get into the clubs later), and anything else that we could do before we got there.

When we got there around 10:30am we dropped off our bags and parked the van. It took about 20 mins to get the kids registered and checked in. We boarded about 12:30ish ate lunch did the lifevest drill and then hit topside for the sailaway party where we had a blast.The dj was playing some cool songs we were all dancing when one of the entertainment staff( Michael I found out later) grabbed my arm and pulled me to the front. Up if the front there were 3 other people.

Michael then went on to explain that this was going to be a booty shaking contest
OMG Help me and I've havn't even finished my first beer. The music starts and they start at the other end. Conestents 1 2 3 all go and then it was my turn. The music starts and I start to shake what the good lord gave me.

When it was all said and done and the shaking stopped. I was victorious and won a spa treatment for heather.

Dinner on the night one was Animators Palette and we got a visit form MM

The kids wanted to go into thier clubs, so they went to thier clubs and we went to our club then it was off to bed for we were arriving at Castaway Cay

Becky congrats to DD on making it for cheerleading. I was one of those once. I still laugh at myself when I think of it. She will have a grand time.
Hope you all have a great day tomorrow at the pumpkin patch. Wish DD didn't have that ballet commitment. Unfortunately, that is going to keep us quite busy until the show is over in Jan.
Looks like the sun may shine down on you all for the outing anyway. Here's hoping.
